Impulse Radio Ultra Wide Band (IR-UWB) system can be used to wireless position location system because of its unique very short pulse in the order of nanosecond. A few algorithms have been proposed to calculate location of sensors or tags. In this paper, we compare these algorithms and propose 'TDoA with wireless synchronization' as practical solution. Earlier algorithms need special logic to fix the duration to receive and send pulse or assume synchronization with wire. In proposed method, beacons synchronize each other using impulse and nodes can be made simple and cheap. We evaluated the performance and it shows 50% improved accuracy at the error range of 50cm.
In this paper, in order to improve the error is utilized to location tracking the smart sensor detects a walking information user, RSSI is to provide an indoor position tracking system that is capable of correcting an error in terms weak. The acceleration sensor is able to detect the activity in the user walking and detects the number of step and the moving distance using the same. The Direction sensor is utilized as a digital compass, to detect the moving direction of the user. As a result of detecting the walking information using the sensor, it can be showed that this proposed indoor positioning system has a high degree of accuracy for the number of steps and the movement direction. Therefore, this paper shows that the proposed technique can correct the error of the location information to be problem in the conventional indoor location system which uses the only Wi-Fi APs by estimating the user's movement direction and distance using the sensors in smartphone without an additional equipment and cost.

Despite the increasing popularity of wireless sensor network, indoor positioning using low power IEEE 802.15.4 compliant radio had attracted an interest of many researchers in the last decade. Old fashionable indoor location sensing information has been presented in dull and unpleasant 2D image standard. This paper focused on visualizing high precision 3 dimensional RSSI-based (received signal strength indication) spatial sensing information in an interactive virtual reality on PDA. The developed system operates by capturing and extracting signal strength information at multiple pre-defined reference nodes to provide information in the area of interest, thus updating user's location in 3D indoor virtual map. VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) which specifically developed for 3D objects modeling is utilized to design 3D indoor environment.
The accuracy of user position by GPS is heavily dependent upon the accuracy of satellite position which is usually transmitted to GPS users in radio signals. The real-time satellite position information directly obtained from broadcast ephimerides has the accuracy of 3~10 meters which is very unsatisfactory to measure 100km baseline to the accuracy of less than a few mili-meters. There are globally at present seven orbit analysis centers capable of generating precise GPS ephimerides and their orbit quality is of the order of about 10cm. Therefore, precise orbit model and phase processing technique were reviewed and consequently precise GPS ephimerides were produced after processing the phase observables of 28 global GPS stations for 1 day. Initial 6 orbit parameters and 2 solar radiation coefficients were estimated using batch least square algorithm and the final results were compared with the orbit of IGS, the International GPS Service for Goedynamics.
In wireless sensor networks, one of most common location detection methods that do not require additional devices such as GPS and ultrasonic sensor, is the location detection method based on received signal strength. However, measured received signal strength will fluctuate over time mainly due to physical radio channel characteristics between nodes, which subsequently will cause errors to measured distance between nodes. Since these contaminated distance data are utilized to detect the location of unknown node, there will be accumulated errors in the location of unknown node. In order to overcome the limitation of the location detection method based on received signal strength, we propose a location scheme in which reliability information of distance data as well as distance data between nodes are utilized to estimate the location of unknown node. Through simulation, it is shown that the proposed scheme can accomplish 30% capacity improvement.
UK Met Office Unified Model (UM) is a grid model applicable for both global and regional model configurations. The Met Office has developed a 4D-Var data assimilation system, which was implemented in the global forecast system on 5 October 2004. In an effort to improve its Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) system, Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) has adopted the UM system since 2008. The aim of this study is to provide the basic information on the effects of satellite data assimilation on UM performance by conducting global satellite data denial experiments. Advanced Tiros Operational Vertical Sounder (ATOVS), Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI), Special Sensor Microwave Imager Sounder (SSMIS) data, Global Positioning System Radio Occultation (GPSRO) data, Air Craft (CRAFT) data, Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) data were assimilated in the UM global system. The contributions of assimilation of each kind of satellite data to improvements in UM performance were evaluated using analysis data of basic variables; geopotential height at 500 hPa, wind speed and temperature at 850 hPa and mean sea level pressure. The statistical verification using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) showed that most of the satellite data have positive impacts on UM global analysis and forecasts.

When the sensor geometry is poor, the user position estimate obtained by of GN (Gauss-Newton) method is often diverged in radio navigation. In other to avoid divergence problem QCLS (Quadratic Correction Least Square) method using TDOA (Time Difference of Arrival) measurements is introduced, but the estimation error is somewhat large. This paper presents the modified QCLS method using weighted least square. Since the weighting matrix is influenced by the unknown user position, two-step approach is employed in the proposed method. The weighting matrix is estimated in the first step using least square, and then find user position is obtained using weighted least square. Simulation results show that the performance of the proposed method is superior to the conventional QCLS all over the workspace.
Location positioning systems are available in applications such as mobile, robotic tracking systems and Wireless location-based service (LBS) applications. The GPS system is the most well-known location tracking system, but it is not easy to use indoors. The method of radio frequency identification (RFID) location tracking was studied in terms of cost-effectiveness for indoor location tracking systems. Most RFID systems use active RFID tags using expendable batteries, but in this paper, an inexpensive indoor location tracking system using passive RFID tags has been developed. A pattern matching method and a system for tracing location by generating regression curves were studied to use precision tracking algorithms. The system was tested by verifying the level of error caused by noise. The three-dimensional curves are produced by the regression equation estimated the statistically meaningful coordinates by the differential equation. The proposed system could also be applied to mobile robot systems, AGVs and mobile phone LBSs.

Optical camera communication (OCC) is an extension of Visible Light Communication. Different from traditional visible light communication, optical camera communications is an almost no additional cost technology by taking the advantage of build-in camera in devices. It was became a candidate for communication protocol for IoT. Camera module can be easy attached to IoT device, because it is small and flexible. Furthermore almost smartphone equip one or two camera for both back and font side with high quality and resolution. It can be utilized for receiving the data from LED or positioning. Actually, OCC combines illumination and communication. It can supply communication for special areas or environment where do not allow Radio frequency such as hospital, airplane etc. There are many concept and experiment be proposed. In this paper we proposed utilizing Android smart-phone camera for receiver and introduce new approach in modulation scheme for LED at transmitter. It also show how Manchester coding can be used encode bits while at the same time being successfully decoded by Android smart-phone camera. We introduce new data frame format for easy decoded and can be achieve high bit rate. This format can be easy to adapt to performance limit of Android operator or embedded system.

UWB impulse radio signals have an very short duration, extremely wide bandwidth and share the same frequency spectrum with other existing systems. It was determined by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that UWB systems could cause interference with other systems, such as Global Positioning System (GPS) for example. Therefore, at present. the FCC has restricted the use of UWB systems to frequencies above 3.1㎓. In this paper, We evaluated performance of UWB system using proposed pulses in [1][2] that are strictly limited in time to remove interference while, at the same time, contain their power distribution to a frequency band from 3.1㎓ to 10.6㎓. In particular, We evaluated the BER Performance in relation to system parameters such as pulse duration. $\delta$, the number of users. Nu. and the number of symbols, M. We found the optimal pulse duration $\delta$ through computer simulation using developed UWB pulses in [1][2]. It is shown that performance evaluation between the UWB communication system using these UWB pulses [1][2]and the Gaussian monocycle pulse in M-ary PPM and BPSK schemes. These results can be contributed to construct M-ary PPM UWB communication system in terms of multiuser parameters and pulse duration.
