통신기반 열차제어시스템 성능평가용 계측시스템 구현 및 적용 (Implementation & Application of Instrumentation System on Performance Evaluation for Korea-Radio Train Control System)

  • This study aims to implement an instrumentation system measuring and analysing real-time data of information flow between respective subunits composing train control system as the performance evaluation method for wireless communication based urban railway train control system under development for a Korean model. It analyses system functional requirements regarding subsystems composing wireless communication based train control system and test items for functions presented in each specification and examines data and measurement point for measuring according to test items in order to implement an instrumentation system. And, it clearly defines requirements of an instrumentation system to avoid malfunction or error in operation of train control system. It reviews data processing method and display method for effective analysis of data flow between respective subunits with measured data, designs and makes an instrumentation system. Ultimately, it applies to a performance test of train control system and makes sure an instrumentation system in normal working order.

  • In the system necessary for safety such as the train control system, to make train control information be sent correctly is very important to enable organic movement between trains. In the case of the system such as RF-CBTC (Radio Frequency Communication Based Train Control) the control related information is sent through wireless transmission between on-board system of a train and wayside transmitter. The wayside transmitter collects the running information such as location, velocity from the on-board system and operates the optimizing control by sending the control information such as the target, limited velocity to the on-board system. But, when the communication disconnect or train failure, the critical hazard such as train collision or derailment may be possible because the RF-CBTC depends on the information through wireless communication. This paper discribes of performing Fall-Back system to detect train position in the case of rail break or communication failure to avoid train accident and allows train to be operated safely. It can be implemented with ATP function through track circuits using active-type transformers and axle counters, and allows train to be operated manually in emergency status.

  • For "Standardization and Performance Evaluation of the Korea Radio Train Control System(KRTCS) for Urban railway" being driven as a national R&D project, this paper presents the requirements for the performance evaluation of the construction of the demonstration line for the driverless train control system based on radio train control for the urban railways system, which will be installed along the 11.7 km section between the Illo Station, Muan-gun, and Daebul Station(Daebul Line) in Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do.

  • 한국형 경전철의 무선통신기반 열차제어시스템은 지상과 차상 무선기 사이의 전파지연을 이용하여 열차의 위치를 검지하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 허가없이 사용할 수 있는 무선기기에 대한 정보통신부 고시기준에 적합하도록 경전철시험선 무선시스템의 송신전력을 줄여 사용할 수 있는지를 전파모의실험을 통해 검토하였다. 우선, 시험선에서 스펙트럼분석기로 측정한 데이터를 분석하여 무선전파(傳播) 모델을 결정하고, 경전철시험선의 지형데이터와 감소된 송신전력을 전파전파(電波傳播)예측 프로그램에 적용하여 전파도달거리를 예측하고, 예측데이터를 바탕으로 송신전력을 줄였을 경우의 실효성을 제시한다.

  • This paper presents an optimization approach to the configuration of train radio communication network for CBTC. The target specifications of CBTC communication systems are derived from technical requirements for CBTC. The proposed communication system has a ring-topology backbone communication network between stations and a radio network based on IEEE 802.11b wireless tan between trains and wayside devices. The proposed method has been applied to the standardization of the signalling system of urban transits.

  • 본 연구는 무선통신기반 열차제어시스템의 ATP 기능을 차상장치와 지상장치에 배치하고 이를 검증하기 위한 ATP시뮬레이터 개발과 ATP알고리즘 검증을 포함한다. 무선통신기술을 열차제어에 적용하면 열차제어 시스템을 단순화하고 실시간 열차위치정보를 활용하여 열차운행의 안전성을 높이는 특징이 있다. 특히 ATP 지상장치와 차상장치에서 vital기능을 처리할 수 있다. 이 같은 vital기능을 어디에 배치하는 가에 따라서 인터페이스내용이 상이한 서로 다른 시스템이 구현된다. 따라서 지상과 차상에 vital 기능을 배치하는 것에 따른 특징을 도출하고, 이것에 의해서 영향을 받는 인터페이스 내용을 확인하는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 ATP 지상장치에 열차이동권한과 열차속도제한 등의 기능을 배치하였고, 전동기를 직접 구동하여 실시간 열차위치정보를 생성하는 ATP시뮬레이터를 개발하였고, 본 시뮬레이터를 사용하여 ATP 알고리즘을 검증하였다. ATP 알고리즘을 검증하기 위한 적절한 모의환경을 확인하였고, ATP 기능에 영향을 주는 주요 인자를 확인하였다.

The Influence of Noise Environment upon Voice and Data Transmission in the RF-CBTC System

  • The RF-CBTC (Radio Frequency-Communication Based Train Control) System is a communication system in railroad systems. The communication method of RF-CBTC system is the wireless between the wayside device and on-board device. The wayside device collects its location and speed from each train and transmits the distance from the forwarding train to the speed-limit position to it. The on-board device controlling device controls the speed optimum for the train. In the case of the RF-CBTC system used in Korea, transmission frequency is 2.4 [GHz]. It is the range of ISM(Industrial Scientific and Medical equipment) band and transmission of voice and data is performed by CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) method. So noises are made in the AWGN (Additive White Gaussian Noise) and fading environment. Currently, the SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio) is about 20 [dB], so due to bit errors made by noises, transmission of reliable information to the train is not easy. Also, in the case that two tracks are put to a single direction, it is needed that two trains transmit reliable voice and data to a wayside device. But, by noises, it is not easy that just a train transmits reliable information. In this paper, we estimated the BER (Bit Error Rate) related to the SNR of voice and data transmission in the environment such as AWGN and fading from the RF-CBTC system using the CDMA method. Also, we supposed the SNR which is required to meet the BER standard for voice and data transmission. By increasing the processing gain that is a ratio of chip transmission to voice and data transmission, we made possible voice and data transmission from maximally two trains to a wayside device, and demonstrated it by using Matlab program.

  • 무선통신을 적용하여 최첨단 무인자동운전을 구현하기 위하여 기존 고정폐색의 신호시스템과 달리 무선에 의한 양방향 통신을 기본으로 하는 이동폐색시스템인 CBTC(Communication Based Train Control) System을 적용하고 있다. 이를 구현하기 위하여 열차의 위치를 검지하는 기법으로 TOA(Time of Arrival)을 적용하였으며 이를 토대로 시험선의 선로변에 설치한 무선기(Wayside Radio Set : WRS)와 차량에 설치된 차상 무선기(Vehicle Radio Set : VRS)가 무선통신을 수행하고 지상에서 측정거리 결과로부터 열차의 위치를 계산되는 것으로 WRS와 VRS간의 거리에 따라 비례하여 증가하는 것을 확인하였고 아울러 측정거리지점에서의 품질이 우수함을 확인하였다.

  • Presently metro in our country has higher rate of passengers as a public transportation of urban area than other transportations. And road is under very restrictive condition to be expanded in many aspects because the streets are completely choked. Therefore increase of capacity in metro and reduction of headway has been seriously required and utmost efforts has been taken by related fields to meet the requirements.   • With the rapid development of information and communication technology, CBTC system based on the wireless communication is widely applied in the railway signal system recently. CBTC system has advantages of lower installation space and maintenance fee than existing systems and the increase of transportation capacity and improvement of operating efficiency etc. due to the short headway. Based on the continuous wireless data communication between onboard and wayside equipment, CBTC system not only locates the train and transmits the information required for the train control, but also implements the moving block function by calculating the brake curves continuously according to distance from the preceding train. CBTC system can use either inductive loop (IL-CBTC) or radio frequency transmissions (RF-CBTC). In this paper, we propose RF-CBTC system architecture based on the functional modules, in which the CAN bus network is applied for the interfaces between the modules.
