With the progress of the electronics industry and radio communication technology, certain problems, such as electromagnetic interference(EMI), have arisen due to the increased use of electromagnetic(EM) waves. International organizations such as CISPR, FCC, and ANSI have provided the standards for the EM wave environment and for the countermeasure of the electromagnetic compatibility(EMC). EM wave absorbers are used for constructing an anechoic chamber to test and measure EMI and electromagnetic susceptibility(EMS). In this paper, we have designed an one-body EM(electromagnetic) wave ferrite absorber, based on the equivalent material constants method for both normally and obliquely incident waves, whose absorption abilities are superior to that of the conventional ones. The fabricated absorber has a thickness of 27.68 mm and shows an absorption ability over 20 ㏈ in the frequency from 30 MHz to 6 ㎓.
We investigated two flares in the solar atmosphere that occurred on June 3, 2012 and July 6, 2012 and caused propagation of Moreton and EIT waves. In the June 3 event, we noticed a filament winking which presumably was caused by the wave propagation from the flare. An interesting feature of this event is that there was a reflection of this wave by a coronal hole located alongside the wave propagation, but not all of this wave was transmitted by the coronal hole. Using the running difference method, we calculated the speed of Moreton and EIT waves and we found values of 926 km/s before the reflection and 276 km/s after the reflection (Moreton wave) and 1,127 km/s before the reflection and 46 km/s after the reflection (EIT wave). In the July 6 event, this phenomenon was accompanied by type II and type III solar radio bursts, and we also performed a running difference analysis to find the speed of the Moreton wave, obtaining a value of 988 km/s. The speed derived from the analysis of the solar radio burst was 1,200 km/s, and we assume that this difference was caused by the different nature of the motions in these phenomena, where the solar radio burst was caused by the propagating particles, not waves.
The effects of the ionosphere on the radio wave propagation are scattering of radio waves, attenuation, angle error, ranging error, and time delay. If ionospheric conditions are suitable, the charged particles can remove energy from radio waves and thus attenuate the signal. Also, a radio wave traveling a path along which the electron density is not constant undergoes changes in direction, positon and time of propagation. The present study is based on Korean ionospheric data obtained at the AnYang Radio Research Institute from Jan. 1985 through Oct. 1989. The data are used to simulate the Korean ionosphere following the Chapman law. The effects of the model ionosphere on the radio wave propagation, such as the angle, position error, time delay, and the attenuation, are studied for the various cases of the wave frequency and the altitude.
The ionosphere in accordance with solar activity can affect the transmission of radio waves. The effect of the ionosphere on the radio wave propagation are scattering of radio waves, attenuation, angle error, ranging error, and time delay. The present study is based on the Korean ionospheirc data obtained at the AnYang Radio Research Laboratory from January 1985 through October 1989. The data are analyzed to show the daily and the annual variations of the ionosphere. The data are also used to simulate the density distribution of the Korean ionosphere following the Chapman law.

With rapid development of communication industry, the kinds of communication service vary. According to the increasing use of radio waves, the intelligent and effective radio monitoring system needs to be developed, which is replaced for previous radio monitoring system. Next-generation intelligent radio monitoring system based on ITU-R, Rule of wireless facilities, and Radio Waves Act is used, and which can accurately and effectively function as effective radio monitoring system through spectrum analysis of channel power, frequency deviation, offset, and an occupied frequency bandwidth(99% or x-dB), about the analog and digital signal in On-Air of V/UHF bandwidth. Main function of the system has an radio quality measurement, unwanted electromagnetic signals (spurious, harmonic) measurement, high-speed spectrum measurement, frequency usage efficiency investigation, illegal radio exploration, working monitoring, In this paper, we proposes radio quality measurement, high-speed spectrum measurement of next-generation intelligent radio monitoring system.
Along with the increase of demand of radio communications and with the rapid progress of communication systems, the radio frequency interference of neighbor nations is a matter of argue. This problem is a delicate matter which must be dealt diplomatically with by having a distinct technical back ground. After the radio interference has been experienced in the Korean TRS service on the south seashore due to the base stations including the Fukuoka station in Japan, the radio interference problem between neighbor nations has become the matter of conflict. For the purpose to solve this problem, we has measured the radio waves that come from Fukuoka in Japan mainly to Pusan in Korea and also collected data in real-time.
Galaxy clusters host Mpc-scale diffuse radio emission giving us evidence of large-scale magnetic fields in the Universe. It is relevant to understand magnetic field amplification processes occurring at the center and outskirts of galaxy clusters. Each of these processes are believed to give rise to observed radio haloes and radio relics, respectively. In this work, we focus on studying the continuum and polarised emission in radio relics. We use threedimensional magnetohydrodynamical simulations of merger shock waves propagating through a magnetized, turbulent intracluster medium. Our model includes the diffusive shock acceleration (DSA) of cosmic ray electrons, their spatial advection and energy losses at run-time. We discuss the relation between the mock observation features and the underlying morphology of the magnetic field.

Microwave(M/W) bands, though having great demand in wireless services, have been used mostly for long distance communications. As a result, the studies on their mobile radio models have been made less than on VHF/UHF. However, as the mobile communication services with M/W bands have been increasing, the development of a more accurate prediction model of the mobile radio environments has been demanded. The development of a reliable radio prediction model in the mobile radio environments requires the measurement and analysis of the characteristics of the radio waves according to reflection, diffraction and scattering of radio signals in various mobile radio environments. The proposed 8 GHz band radio prediction models have 2 different categories: (1) LOS model and (2) non-LOS model. The LOS model predicts signal strength using the analytic result with measured pathless exponents for the waves direct and reflected by ground and buildings, and the non-LOS model suggests a prediction model of received power by calculating the signal variations after diffraction.

Merger shocks with Ms < ~ 3 - 4 have been detected in galaxy clusters through radio observations of synchrotron radiations emitted from cosmic-ray (CR) electrons. The CR electrons are believed to be produced by the so-called diffusive shock acceleration (DSA) at the merger shocks. To describe the acceleration of electrons, the injection into DSA has to be understood. Recent studies have showed that electrons could be energized through stochastic shock drift acceleration (SSDA), a mechanism mediated by multi-scale plasma waves at shock transition zone. However, such preacceleration process seems to be effective only at the supercritical shocks with Ms > ~ 2.3, implying that further studies should be done to explain radio relics with weaker shocks. In this talk, we present the results obtained by fully kinetic 2D particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations, which include pre-existing suprathermal electrons possibly ejected from active galactic nuclei (AGNs) or produced by previous episodes of turbulence/shocks. The simulations indicate that the pre-existing electrons enhance the upstream plasma waves in shocks with Ms < ~ 2.3. However, the wavelength of such waves is not long enough to scatter off suprathermal electrons and energize them to the injection momentum for DSA. Hence, we conclude that preexciting suprathermal electrons alone would not solve the problem of electron acceleration at radio relic shocks.

The conventionally classified waves are reclassified in this paper, including the waves associated with metamaterial (MTM) transmission lines. Various types of guided waves in periodic structures are analyzed for 1D Composite Right/Left Handed (CRLH) transmission lines (TL). In addition, dispersion diagrams for 1D CRLH, RH, and LH TLs are presented in terms of radiation conditions. We have refined the design equations of the conventional 1D CRLH TL and proposed a condition to realize the desired phase shift and its slope per unit cell. This condition has been applied to the conventional Wilkinson power divider and realized into MTM added $90^{\circ}$ hybrid coupler. Based on the 10 dB return loss and the $90{\pm}10^{\circ}$ phase shift, the bandwidths of the MTM added $90^{\circ}$ hybrid coupler are 82.25% and 103.5% against the conventional 23% and 52.5%, respectively.
