영상처리 기법을 통한 RBFNN 패턴 분류기 기반 개선된 지문인식 시스템 설계 (Design of Fingerprints Identification Based on RBFNN Using Image Processing Techniques)

  • In this paper, we introduce the fingerprint recognition system based on Radial Basis Function Neural Network(RBFNN). Fingerprints are classified as four types(Whole, Arch, Right roof, Left roof). The preprocessing methods such as fast fourier transform, normalization, calculation of ridge's direction, filtering with gabor filter, binarization and rotation algorithm, are used in order to extract the features on fingerprint images and then those features are considered as the inputs of the network. RBFNN uses Fuzzy C-Means(FCM) clustering in the hidden layer and polynomial functions such as linear, quadratic, and modified quadratic are defined as connection weights of the network. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm optimizes a number of essential parameters needed to improve the accuracy of RBFNN. Those optimized parameters include the number of clusters and the fuzzification coefficient used in the FCM algorithm, and the orders of polynomial of networks. The performance evaluation of the proposed fingerprint recognition system is illustrated with the use of fingerprint data sets that are collected through Anguli program.

  • 본 논문에서는 보행자 및 배경 이미지로부터 HOG-PCA 특징을 추출하고 다항식 기반 RBFNNs(Radial Basis Function Neural Network) 패턴분류기과 최적화 알고리즘을 이용하여 보행자를 검출하는 시스템 설계를 제안한다. 입력 영상으로부터 보행자를 검출하기 위해 전처리 과정에서 HOG(Histogram of oriented gradient) 알고리즘을 통해 특징을 추출한다. 추출된 특징은 고차원이므로 패턴분류기 분류 시 많은 연산과 처리속도가 따른다. 이를 개선하고자 PCA (Principal Components Analysis)을 사용하여 저차원으로의 차원 축소한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 분류기는 pRBFNNs 패턴분류기의 효율적인 학습을 위해 최적화 알고리즘인 PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization)을 사용하여 구조 및 파라미터를 최적화시켜 모델의 성능을 향상시킨다. 사용된 데이터로는 보행자 검출에 널리 사용되는 INRIA2005_person data set에서 보행자와 배경 영상을 각각 1200장을 학습 데이터, 검증 데이터로 구성하여 분류기를 설계하고 테스트 이미지를 설계된 최적의 분류기를 이용하여 보행자를 검출하고 검출률을 확인한다.

  • In the present study, the deformation behavior of both of metal and polymer combination on impact was investigated. They have showed a different deformation behavior when the co-axially combined projectile was impacted on rigid target. The theory according to Taylor's simplified approach assumes an ideally rigid-plastic material model exhibiting rate-independent behavior and simple one-dimensional wave propagation concepts that neglect radial inertia. In the case of impact with polymeric materials, elastic strain in general are not negligible compared with plastic strain; and the rigid-plastic material behavior assumed by Taylor for metallic materials cannot be applied any more. Since, the sleeve and the core materials have widely different mechanical properties, they will produce a significant difference of mechanical impedance with each other. Therefore these impedance mismatch influences on the deformation behavior sleeved polymer projectile on impact. As a result, sleeved projectiles will generate a very interesting impact behavior. Therefore, the according to sleeved metal material and core polymer material can see expected. The objective of this study was to investigate the factors which influences on deformation behavior pattern of sleeve materials surface.

중력주조 및 직접가압주조 7XXX계 Al합금의 미세조직에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Microstructures in Direct Squeeze cast and Gravity Cast of 7XXX Al Wrought Alloy)

  • Squeeze casting process has been used in the field of a commercial manufacturing method, in which metal is enforcedly solidified under pressure enough to prevent the cast defects such as either gas porosity or shrinkage defect. In this paper, to clarify the relationship between applied pressures and macro ${\cdot}$ microstructural behaviors in gravity and direct squeeze casts, specimens were cast by various squeezing pressures during solidification of 7000 series Al wrought alloy in the metal die designed specially. The applied pressures used in this study were 0, 25, 50, and 75 MPa. The microstructural morphologies of squeeze cast were more fine and dense with increasing the applied pressures, because of the greater solidification rate of billet resulting from the applied pressure. A normal segregation phenomenon of an increasing in amount of eutectics towards the center of the billet was observed for squeeze casts, whereas gravity cast showed an inverse segregation phenomenon of an increasing in amount of eutectics towards the edge in the billet. This change in segregation pattern which is normal or inverse is due to a higher radial temperature gradient and reduced time in the semi solid state for squeeze casting.

바이올린 브릿지의 음향적 특성 및 SDM 시뮬레이션에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Acoustical Characteristics of Violin Bridges and SDM Simulation)

  • Violin bridge blank cut from maple wood with good quality has typical pattern of the radial direction in the side edge with minimal dispersion. This experimental study was designed and carried out to examine the effect of the physical and macroscopical characteristics on the compressive creep of violin bridge blank which had been imported from European manufacturer. This research arose from the idea that the maple solid wood with heterogeneous wood density and ray direction in the side edge would have uneven rheological property of violin bridge blank which is supposed to be pressed by the tension of strings. Experimentally, the compressive creep of bridge blank became smaller with the higher density of imported maple wood and showed clear density-dependence for the duration of load under the string tension of 5 kgf. Every bridge blank showed the behavior of primary creep stage(stress stabilization) having logarithmic regression creep curve with high correlation coefficient under the designed stress level. Even though the relationship between compressive creep and ray direction on the side edge of bridge was not so clear contrary to expectation, we could conclude that wood density and ray direction should be the quality decisive factors affecting the acoustical characteristics and performance of the bridge, the core member of violin-family bow instruments.

디젤 충돌 분무의 발달 과정 및 내부 유동 특성 (Internal Structure and Velocity Field of the Impinging Diesel Spray on the Wall)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the internal structure of the impinged diesel spray at various experimental conditions. To examine the effect of various factors on the development of a diesel spray impinging on the wall, experiments were conducted at the various Injection pressures, wall distances from the nozzle tip and angles of wall inclination. The PIV system consists of a double pulsed Nd:YAG laser was utilized to analyze the internal flow structure of impinged diesel sprays. The velocity fields from the PIV system were compared with the results measured by the phase Doppler particle analyzer(PDPA)system. The results show that internal flow pattern of the impinged spray was similar with the results from the PDPA system. The radial velocity of the impinged spray was increased with the increase in the injection pressure and near the nozzle-wall distance. The generation of vortex was also promoted with the Increase in angles of wall inclination.

  • 전자기 결합된 동축 다이폴 안테나를 이론적으로 해석하였다. 방사도파관 모드와 퓨리어 변환을 이용하여 적분 방정식을 유도하였다. 적분 방정식에 포함된 적분들을 빠르게 계산하기 위하여 실수축을 따른 적분을 브랜치 컷 (branch cut)을 따른 적분 경로로 변환하여 계산하였다. 방사 특성에 미치는 슬롯과 다이폴 그리고 단락면의 길이 그리고 유전체 코팅의 영향을 조사하였다. 방시특성 또한 연구하였다. 제안된 방법의 타당성을 증명하기 위하여 기존에 발표된 방법으로 계산한 안테나의 방향성 이득과 비교하였고 또한 전력 보존 법칙을 만족시키는지를 확인하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 방법으로 계산된 결과를 전자파 상용 시뮬레이터의 결과와 비교하여 잘 일치함을 확인하였다.

Cavitation in a Shaft-less Double Suction Centrifugal Miniature Pump

  • Based on the consideration that the cavitation would affect the operation stability of miniature pumps, the 3-D turbulent cavitating flow in a test pump was simulated by using a mixed cavitation model and k-${\omega}$ SST turbulence model. In order to investigate the influence of inlet geometry parameters on the cavitation performance of the miniature pump, two more impellers are designed for comparison. Based on the results, the following conclusions are drawn: 1) Cavitation performance of the double suction shaft-less miniature pump having different impeller is equivalent to the centrifugal pump having ordinary size, though the flow passage at impeller inlet is small; 2) The miniature pump having radial impeller can produce much higher pump head, but lower cavitation performance than that having the impeller based on the conventional design method; 3) It is believed that by applying the double suction design, the miniature pump achieved relatively uniform flow pattern upstream the impeller inlet, which is favorable for improving cavitation performance.

타원형 커루게이트 도파관의 전파 및 복사 특성 (Propagation and Radiation Characteristics of Elliptical Corrugated Waveguide)

  • 본 논문에서는 타원형 커루게이트 도파관의 전파 및 복사특성을 이론적으로 해석한다. 타원형 원통 좌표계에서의 파동방정식의 해는 제1종 및 제2종의 Mathieu함수들로 얻어진다. 타원형 커루게이트 도파관의 전계와 자계들은 반경방향과 각 방향의 Mathieu함수들의 곱의 급수로 나타낼 수 있다. 슬랏 영역과 안쪽 영역의 경계면에서 임피던스 매칭 방법을 사용하여 특성 방정식을 얻는다. 타원형 커루게이트도파관에서의 주모드인 $HE_{11}$모드에 대한 특성방정식을 풀어 어퍼춰에서의 전자계를 계산하고, 또 계의 등가원리(field equivalence principle)를 이용하여 타원형 커루게이트 도파관에서의 복사패턴을 계산한다.

RBFN을 이용한 음소인식에 관한 연구 (A study on the phoneme recognition using radial basis function network)

  • 본 연구는 RBFN의 일종인 GPFN과 PNN을 이용한 음소인식에 관한 연구이다. RBFN의 구조는 계층형 신경망의 구조와 유사하지만, hidden층에서 활성화함수, 참조벡터 및 학습알고리듬의 선택이 다르다. 특히 PNN은 시그모이드 함수가 지수를 포함한 함수들의 한 분류로 대체된다는 것이며, 학습이 필요없으므로 전체계산 시간이 빠르게 수행된다. 5모음, 12자음을 대상으로 한 음소인식 실험에서 평가데이터, VQ와 LVQ에 의한 코드북 데이터를 사용한 경우에 음성의 통계적 특성을 잘 반영하고 있는 RBFN의 일종인 GPFN과 PNN의 인식결과가 MLP보다 우수하였다.
