A velocity inhomogeneity, which is the regional preponderence of either radial or tangential orbits, is searched with the new technique proposed by Kim (1992) for Coma, Hydra I, and Abell 2256 cluster of galaxies. Conspicuous inhomogeneities are found in the Coma and A2256 which X-ray isophotes are indicative for their underlying potentials being ellipitcal in shape, Even in their central regions, zones that are dominated by radial orbits are clearly distinguishable from that of the tangential orbits, and defining the cluster 'equator' as the direction of maximum elongation of the X-ray isophotes, radial orbits dominate along this direction whereas tangential orbits dominate the 'polar' zones. Merger events that are evidenced in X-ray observations occur in the equatorial zones of Coma and A2256, suggesting preponderence of radial orbits in the zones, which is in good agreement with their velocity structures. On the other hand, the inhomogeneity in Hydra I turns out to be insignificant in the central regions and this is just what is expected from a cluster whose X-ray isophotes is nearly circular. The velocity distribution in regions further out, however, shows significant inhomogeneity and this seems to support the previous results that this cluster is likely to have substructures and velocity anisotropy.

High-frequency (HF) radar measures sea surface currents from the radio waves transmitted and received by antenna on land. Since the data quality of HF radar measurements sensitively depend on the radio wave environment around antenna, Antenna Pattern Measurements (APM) plays an important role in evaluating the accuracy of measured surface currents. In this study, APM was performed by selecting the times when the background noise level around antenna was high and low, and radial data were generated by applying the ideal pattern and measured pattern. The measured antenna pattern for each case was verified with the current velocity data collected by drifters. The radial velocity to which the ideal pattern was applied was not affected by the background noise level around antenna. However, the radial velocity obtained with APM in the period of high background noise was significantly lower in quality than the radial velocity in a low noise environment. It is recomended that APM be carried out in consideration of the radio wave environment around antenna, and that the applied result be compared and verified with the current velocity measurements by drifters. If it is difficult to re-measure APM, we suggest using radial velocity in generating total vector with the ideal pattern through comparative verification, rather than poorly measured patterns, for better data quality.

Weather radar is observation equipment that transmits electromagnetic waves and receives backscattered signals from the targets. The weather radar systems of the Korea Meteorological Administration have a doppler mode that can extract the target's radial velocity. However, the radial velocity over the maximum unambiguous velocity(${\nu}_m$) for which is in a trade-off relationship with the maximum unambiguous range is folded. Therefore, a dual PRF mode of which transmits and receives signals using two different PRFs(high and low) must be used to extend the vm while maintaining the maximum unambiguous range. Using a dual PRF mode, vm can be extended to the amount of lowest common denominator of two observed vm from high and low PRF. For this extension, we have developed a velocity unfolding algorithm of which uses several criteria for classification considering observed velocity differences between high and low PRF and their error boundary. Then, correction factors are calculated for each class and are applied to unfold radial velocity. The developed algorithm was applied to the Yong-In Testbed(YIT) radar and the generated better performance of radial velocity extraction than those of the previous system.
In order to estimate the radial speed of an underwater object so-called target with active sonar, Continuous Wave (CW) pulse is generally used, but if a target is slow and at near distance, it is not easy to estimate the radial velocity of the target due to acoustic reverberation in the ocean. In 2017, Wang et al. utilized broadband signal of two Hyperbolic Frequency Modulation (HFM) pulses, which is known as a doppler-invariant pulse, with equal frequency band and in opposite sweep directions to overcome this problem and successfully estimate the radial speed of slow-moving nearby target. They demonstrated the estimation of the radial velocity with computer simulation using the parameters of two HFM starting time differences and receiving times. However, for it uses two HFM pulses with equal frequency, cross-correlation between the two pulses negatively affect the detection performance. To mitigate this cross-correlation effect, we suggest using two different band HFM with the opposite sweep directions. In this paper, a method of radial velocity estimation is derived and simulated using two HFM pulses with the pulse length of 1 second and bandwidth of 400 Hz. Applying the suggested method, the radial velocity was estimated with approximately 6 % of relative error in the simulation.
AQ Cassiopeiae (BD+61`0242, uv=10, Sp=B3+Bg) is a totally eclipsing binary system with the obital period of about 12 days. 71 was observed for 15 nights in 1985 with the1.8-m telescope at the DAO, employing a Reticon and a three-stage image tube attached to the spectrograph. And also, photometric observations of AQ Cas had been made inUBv for six years from 1982 to 1988 at Yonsei University Observatory(YUO). This work includes UBV observations obtained at YUO as a part of The Ten-Year Observing Program(1982-1992). Double lined radial, velocity curves and Ufv light curves of AQC as are constructed. The light curves and radial velocity curves show a strong evidence of circumstellar matter or mass stream. It is clear at the phases of just outside externaleclipse contacts, particularly at phase 0.8-0.9, shown in Figures 1 and 2. A solution by combining the radial velocity and photometric curves of the binary was obtained with the Wilson-Devinney Code. We found that the system is semi-detached with the coolcomponent filling its Roche lobe. The absolute dimensions of AQ Cas are calculated. The result shows that this system consists of two massive and subgiant stars.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the significant characteristics in atomization process of industrial etching spray fur the design or Precise pressure-swirl nozzles. The experiment was carried out with different viscosities and densities of the liquid. The macro characteristics of liquid spray, such as the spray angle and breakup process were captured by PMAS and the micro characteristics of liquid spray. such as droplet size and velocity measurements were obtained by PDA. The droplet axial and radial velocity and SMD were measured along axial and radial direction. The RMS of two velocities was measured along radial direction. It was found that the fluid with higher kinematic viscosity resulted in the larger SMD and the lower mean droplet velocity. And we could divide breakup processes into three regions that is atomization, non-dilution and dilution one in spray of pressure-swirl nozzle. The radial as well as axial velocity of droplet played an important role in the atomization process of higher kinematic viscosity fluid.

The measurement of radial directional natural frequency ina passenger car tire rotating under the load is studied. In order to obtain theoretical matural frequency and mode shape, the ploane vibration of a tire is modeled to that of circular beam. By esing the Tieking method based on Hamiltons's principle, theoretical results are determined by considering tension horce due to tire inflation pressure, retational velocity and tangential, radial stiffness. Radial directional modal parameters varying with the inflation pressure, load, rotational velocity are experimentally determined by using frequency response function method. The results show that experimental conditions canbe considered as the parameters which shift the natural frequency.

The objectives of this study was to investigate the spray characteristics of single spray and twin spray in the overlap region such as mean axial velocity, mean radial velocity, mean droplet size and probability density function of droplet size. A phase doppler anemometer was used as the measurement system for droplet size and velocity. In case of single spray, injection pressure was varied from 0.2MPa to 0.7MPa. Mean axial velocity, mean radial velocity and droplet size were decreased as the distance below nozzle tip was increased. In case of twin spray, the spray characteristics were measured by varying the distance between two nozzles from 127mm to 155mm. In the overlap region, the boundary of the overlap region was determined by obtaining the distribution of mean axial and radial velocity. Droplet size was increased as the distance from nozzle tip was increased. It was found that the distribution of droplet size for twin spray in the overlap region was different to single spray.
This study represents three-dimensional turbulent flow characteristics around an axial fan measured at the operating point ${\varphi}=0.32$, which is equivalent to the maximum flowrate region, by using three-dimensional fiber-optic type LDA system. This LDA system is composed of a 5 W Argon-ion laser, two optics in back-scatter mode, three BSA's, a PC, and a three-dimensional automatic traversing system. A kind of paraffin fog is used for laser particles in this study. Mean velocity profiles around an axial fan along the downstream radial distance show that the streamwise and the tangential components exist as a predominant velocity and have the maximum value at the radial distance ratio 0.8, while the radial component has a small scale distribution and its flow direction is inward except a part of blade tip. The turbulent intensity profiles show that the radial component exists the most greatly. And also the turbulent kinetic energy shows about 60% as a maximum value at the radial distance ratio 0.9. Moreover, the Reynolds shear stresses do not exist at upstream flow, but the streamwise and the radial components of them show about 20% as a maximum value at the radial distance ratio 0.9 at downstream flow.
We present a 3D SH-wave velocity model of the crust and uppermost mantle and seismic radial anisotropy beneath East Asia. The SH-wave velocity structure model was built using Love-wave group-velocity dispersion data from earthquake data recorded at broadband seismic networks of Korea, Japan, and China. Love-wave group-velocity dispersion curves were obtained by using the multiple filtering technique in the period range of 3 to 150 s for 3,369 event-station pairs. The inverted model using these data sets provides a crust and upper mantle SH-wave velocity structure down to 100 km depth. At 10 ~ 40 km depths SH-wave velocity beneath the East Sea is higher than beneath the Japanese island region. We estimated the Moho beneath the East Sea to be between 10 ~ 20 km depth, while Moho beneath the Korean Peninsula at around 35 km based on the depth where high-velocity anomalies are detected. We estimated the lithosphere-asthenosphere boundary beneath the East Sea to be at around 50 km based on the depth where strong low-velocity anomalies are observed. Widespread low-velocity anomalies are found between 50 ~ 100 km depth in the study region. Positive radial anisotropy ($V_{SV}$ > $V _{SH}$) is observed down to 35 km depth, while negative radial anisotropy ($V_{SV}$ > $V _{SH}$) is observed for deeper depth.
