Comparisons of ISAR Imaging Methods for Maritime Targets with Real Measured Radar Data (해상 표적의 실제 레이다 측정 데이터를 이용한 ISAR 영상 형성 기법 성능 비교)

  • In this paper, we compared performance of conventional inverse synthetic aperture radar(ISAR) imaging methods for maritime target with real data measured by X-band radar. Following conventional approaches were used for performance comparisons: 1) range instantaneous Doppler(RID) method, 2) range Doppler(RD) processing with phase adjustment, and 3) RD processing with prominent point processing(PPP). It is noteworthy that the comparison results have significance of providing basic concept to establish ISAR imaging frame work for maritime targets.

  • Radar system must estimate exactly quickness and target in interference channel. Because interference of radio channel is multipath channel by artificial structure and nature structure. signal estimation is difficult. As long as, get rid of interference signal have been study digital beamforming, adaptive array antenna and so on. In this paper, proposed SPT-SALCMV beamforming algorithm get rid of coherent interference algorithm and adaptive array antenna. Adaptive array forms null pattern and reduces gains for direction of interference signal. And estimate signal that want by keeping gains of beam pattern changelessly to target signal direction. In this paper, proposed SPT-SALCMV algorithm was exactly received position of target. But general SPT-LCMV algorithm resulted beam error about 30degrees. Therefore, proved that SPT-SALCMV algerian that propose in this paper is more excellent than genaral SPT-LCMV algorithm.

Design of Optimized Pattern Classifier for Discrimination of Precipitation and Non-precipitation Event (강수 및 비 강수 사례 판별을 위한 최적화된 패턴 분류기 설계)

  • In this paper, pattern classifier is designed to classify precipitation and non-precipitation events from weather radar data. The proposed classifier is based on Fuzzy Neural Network(FNN) and consists of three FNNs which operate in parallel. In the proposed network, the connection weights of the consequent part of fuzzy rules are expressed as two polynomial types such as constant or linear polynomial function, and their coefficients are learned by using Least Square Estimation(LSE). In addition, parametric as well as structural factors of the proposed classifier are optimized through Differential Evolution(DE) algorithm. After event classification between precipitation and non-precipitation echo, non-precipitation event is to get rid of all echo, while precipitation event including non-precipitation echo is to get rid of non-precipitation echo by classifier that is also based on Fuzzy Neural Network. Weather radar data obtained from meteorological office is to analysis and discuss performance of the proposed event and echo patter classifier, result of echo pattern classifier compare to QC(Quality Control) data obtained from meteorological office.

  • For intelligent vehicle technology, it is very important to recognize the states of around vehicles and assess the collision risk for safety driving of the vehicle. Specifically, it is very fatal the collision with the vehicle coming from opposite direction. In this paper, a centerlane violation prediction method is proposed. Only radar signal based prediction makes lots of false alarm cause of measurement noise and the false alarm can make more danger situation than the non-prediction situation. We proposed the novel prediction method using IMM algorithm and fuzzy logic to increase accuracy and get rid of false positive. Fuzzy logic adjusts the radar signal and the IMM algorithm appropriately. It is verified by the computer simulation that shows stable prediction result and fewer number of false alarm.

A Study on the Present Status of Use and Development Plan of GPS Receiver in Naval Vessels (해군함정의 GPS 수신기 활용현황과 발전방안에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, it is surveyed and analyzed under the condition of developing GPS receiver that the present status of use and the precision of GPS receiver installed in naval vessels. Throughout interview and questionnaire with the workers in naval vessels, reliability and utilization of GPS receiver are verified. In conclusion, it is suggested that the development of GPS receiver system as well as navigation methods in naval vessels. The result of this study is as follows. Though the workers in naval vessels regard the accuracy of GPS receiver position as the fix by geographical navigation method. However, it is confirmed that its practical usage is when it is difficult to obtain the fix by geographical navigation method or R/D position or for verification. The suggested plans to develop the navigation methods from naval vessels standpoint are designing a parallel systems and introducing the GPS receiver system that functions well and is linked to the electronic navigation chart.
