We propose a new RLL(run length limited) (2,7) PP(parity preserving) code with 4 RMTR(repeated minimum transition run) for optical recording. The proposed code has better characteristics in terms of density ratio, RMTR, DC(direct current) component suppression, BER(bit error rate) and system complexity than (2,1O) code that currently applied in storage systems and (1,7) PP code that highly recommended as the next generation optical recording system. Some characteristics of the code are described with several simulations. And the proposed code's superiorites in performance is illustrated as compared with the other codes.

Congenital bronchoesophageal fistula is a rare anomaly that can appear in adult uncommonly. Especially sick sinus syndrome with bronchoesophageal fistula is very uncommon.The patient was 53 years old male who admitted for chronic coughing recurrent lobar pneumonia on RLL since few years ago. And he had familial history of sick sinus syndrome.We confirmed the fistula by barium swallow examination and performed ligation of the fistula and pacemaker implantation.

Epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma is a rate low-grade malignant salivary neoplasm that usually occurs in the parotid gland but can also arise in minor salivary glands. We report a case of a primary epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma of the lung neoplasm. The patient was 48-year-old women who presented with dry cough of 1 month duration. A right middle lobe endobronchial lesion was identified bronchoscopically. The bilobectomy of RML & RLL was performed, the pathologic result was epithelial-myoepithelial carcinoma.

We experienced a case of intralobar pulmonary sequestration preoperatively confirmed. The 10 years old male patient was admitted beacuse of recurrent episode of coughing and production of purulent sputum. the chest X-ray showed a dense mass containing a large cyst with air-fiuid level in right lower lung field. An aortogram was performed and revealed that the sequestrated portion of the RLL was supplied by an aberrant large artery arising directly from the lower thoracic aorta. After division and ligation of the aberrant artery in pulmonary ligament, the right lower lobectomy was performed and the patient`s postoperative course was uneventful.

Visible Light Communication is one of the promising technologies for wireless communication due to the possibility to use existing LED lightening infrastructure to transmit data. LED has the ability to turn on and off very fast enough that our human eyes can't recognize so it can be used to transmit data via visible light along with illumination. But it faces flicker problem due to the brightness discrepancies between '1' and '0' bit patterns inside a data frame. Various run length limited (RLL) coding scheme like Manchester code, 4B6B, 8B10B or VPPM can be used to solve flickering problem. So we propose pseudo Manchester codding which can transmit data without modifying LED modulator and demodulator circuit as well as solve flickering problem.

A lung hernia, defined as the protrusion of pulmonary tissue and pleural membranes through a defect in the thoracic wall, is a rare event. It can be congenital or acquired, and cervical, thoracic, or diaphragmatic in location. We report the rare occurrence of a congenital atraumatic lung herniation through the azygoesophageal recess. An 8-month-old male infant, who was born at 35 weeks gestation, had a chronic cough. Chest radiography showed haziness at the right lower lobe of the lung (RLL). Chest computed tomography (CT) revealed herniation of the RLL through the azygoesophageal recess. If persistent unilateral haziness is observed on chest radiography, the possibility of lung herniation should be considered.

Partial response maxim likelihood (PRML) is a powerful and indispensable detection scheme for perpendicular magnetic recording channels. The performance of PRML can be improved by incorporating a noise prediction scheme into branch metric computations of Viterbi algorithm (VA). However, the systems constructed by VA have shortcomings in the form of high complexity and cost. In this connection, a new simple detection scheme is proposed by exploiting the minimum run-length parameter d=1 of RLL code. The proposed detection scheme have a slicer instead of Viterbi detector and a noise predictor as a feedback filter. Therefore, to improve BER performance, the proposed detection scheme is extended to dual detection scheme for improving the BER performance. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme has a comparable performance to noise-predictive maximum likelihood (NPML) detector with less complexity when the partial response (PR) target is (1,2,1).

Pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVMs) are direct communications between pulmonary arteries and pulmonary veins, resulting in right-to-left shunts that may cause cyanosis, dyspnea, and digital clubbing. Neurological complications such as intracerebral hemorrhage or brain abscess may result from cerebral thrombosis or emboli. In most cases, they remain unrecognized until the late teenage years. Here, we report a case of a 6-year-old boy who presented with perioral cyanosis, digital clubbing, and dyspnea on exertion. A plain chest X-ray showed a focal nodular opacity in the right lower lobe (RLL), and a diagnosis of a large PAVM in the RLL was confirmed by chest computed tomography. A right lower lobectomy was successfully performed without any complications. Although their incidence in children is low, PAVMs should be suspected as a possible cause of cyanosis and dyspnea of non-cardiac origin, and should be treated promptly to prevent further neurological complications.

Injuries to versa cave continue to be associated with a high mortality. Essentials to successful treatment are immediate recognition of the injury and prompt control of the hemorrhage. We have experienced one case of inferior versa java perforation by a chest rainage tube in the patient with post-operative chronic empyema thoracic. The patient was 38-year old male who was taken RLL lobectomy after 6 cycle of chemotherapy due to small cell carcinoma in the RLL & suffered from post-operative chronic empyema thoracis at D hospital. He moved to our hospital for further evaluation with accidental removal of chest drainge tube. We inserted closed drainage tube and dark blood gushed out abruptly just after insertion of the drainage tube. CTscan, MRI, and angiogram were performed and showed the perforation of IVC just below RA. The IVC was repaired using simple interrupted 4-0 Prolene suture through right posterolateral thoracotomy. The patient recovered without event and doing well until now.

In this paper ERP-4 viterbi decoder for magnetic disk read channel is designed. The viterbi decoder consists of ACS circuit, path memory circuit, minimum detection circuit, and output selection circuit. In the viterbi decoder the number of state is reduced from 8 to 6 using (1,7) RLL codes and modulo comparison based on 2's complement arithmetic is applied to handle overflow problem of ACS module. Also to determine the correct symbol values in nonconvergent condition of path memory, pipelined minimum detector which determines path with minimum state metric is used. The EPR-4 viterbi decoder is designed using 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS technology and consists of about 15,300 transistors and has 250 Mbps data rates under 3.3 volts.
