The excitement over radio frequency identification (RFID) technology has gained momentum in the last five years, with a diversification in the range of applications. Besides academic research into radio frequency identification (RFID) has proliferated over the last few years, however there is much to be desired on Packaging industry. In this paper, we present a literature reviews of researches of RFID system on Packaging, especially focused on RFID system standardization into packaging. There is not any packaging standard or guidance about tag locations, classification with the materials and so on. Therefore it hampers reduction of the distribution costs on political and corporate sides, and lack consistency of applying RFID system. The main focus of this review paper is to establish a constituency about legislating RFID system standard on packaging. It is hoped that the review will be a good resource for future research in order to applly RFID system to Packaging industry effectively.
More recently, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) systems have begun to find greater use in various industrial fields. The use of RFID system in these application domains has been promoted by efforts to develop the RFID tags which are low in cost, small in size, and high in performance. The RFID applications enable the real-time capture and update of RFID tag information, while simultaneously allowing business process change through real-time alerting and alarms. These be developed to monitor person or objects with RFID tags in a place and to provide visibility and traceability of the seamless flows of RFID tags. In this time, the RFID readers should be placed in diverse locations, the RFID flows between these readers can be tested based on various scenarios. However, due to the high cost of RFID readers, it may be difficult to prepare the similar environment equipped with RFID read/write devices. In this paper, we propose a simulator to allow RFID application testing without installing physical devices. It can model the RFID deployment environment, place various RFID readers and sensors on this model, and move the RFID tags through the business processes. This simulator can improve the software development productivity by accurately testing RFID middleware and applications. In addition, when data security cannot be ensured by any fault, it can decide where the problem is occurred between RFID hardware and middleware.
RFID applications use tags to identify objects, but recent applications tend to include diverse sensor devices such as light, temperature, and humidity sensors as well. RFID tag information is usually processed via the event driven model. However sensor devices are usually accessed via the functional call model. Therefore application developers have to deal with mixed data access models and device dependent interface functions. In this paper, we propose a sensor reader emulator that provides a consistent access interface to sensor devices regardless of the types of devices. SRE provides a more efficient way of developing RFID applications by providing a single application programmer's view to RFID tags and sensor devices. In applications where tags are fixed to a place, SRE can replace expensive sensor tags and sensor readers with inexpensive sensor devices reducing the total cost while providing the same functionality.
Software produce line engineering is a method that prepares for future reuse and supports seamless reuse in the application development process. Analyzing the commonality and variability between products in a product line is one of the essential concerns that must be considered when building a product line. In this paper, we suggest to combine a product line engineering approach with RFID applications technology. More concretely, common activities are identified among the RFID-enable applications and the variability in the common activities is analyzed in detail. Then, we suggest reusable product line architecture as a product line asset. In addition, as a tool for supporting this research, a framework which provides both reusable product line architecture for REID applications and the components that implement concrete realization of the architecture is developed. Sharing a common architecture and reusing assets to deploy recurrent services may be considered an advantage in terms of economic significance and overall quality.

A loop RFID tag antenna and a dipole RFID antenna with a T-matching method have been designed. The characteristic of loop and dipole with T-matching antenna structures of RFID tag antennas have been studied. The impedance of different sizes of loop and dipole antenna structures are found. This paper shows parametric research of loop RFID antenna structure and RFID dipole antenna with T-matching method to match the impedance of commercially available RFID chips.

유비쿼터스 시대가 도래하면서 많은 기업들이 RFID(Radio Frequency Identification)의 도입에 대한 관심을 보이고 있다.

An UHF ($860{\sim}960MHz$) RFID tag antenna is optimized and designed using a genetic algorithm (GA). The tag antenna impedance should be matched to the conjugate of the impedance of the tag IC Chip. The chip impedance has real and capacitive imaginary parts due to the parasitic capacitance of the RFID chip. A GA linked with a commercially available antenna simulation program optimizes the UHF $860{\sim}960\;MHz$ tag antenna to match a commercially available RFID chip. This method shows that any RFID antenna can be designed for any commercial RFID chip with any impedance.
RFID has been used as an identification tool that substitutes for bar codes. Its areas of application are increasing due to its suitability in ubiquitous environment. In this paper, first, we review various aspects of RFID, including standards, characteristics, and relationships with wireless sensor networks. Then, we review the technical aspects of RFID and its areas of application, e.g., supply chain management (SCM) and manufacturing since 2005. SCM, in which RFIDs can shorten lead time and ensure the quality of products, is one of the most active application areas. Manufacturing is a relatively new area for RFID applications, but it is believed that it can enhance the productivity and the reliability of the products. Also, the authors suggest research issues and limitations of RFID, as well as possible application areas related to marine engineering.
For widespread adoption for the RFID technology, RFID middleware is considered as the key enabler of the RFID evolution while it manages the flow of data between tag readers and enterprise applications and is responsible for the quality, and therefore usability, of the information. In this paper, we introduce the recent researches and developments of RFID middleware and explain the software framework of the RFID middleware which is currently developed in ETRI. In conclusion, our experiences with the current implementation are presented
