Fair Identification Scheme for STAC Protocol in 13.56MHz RFID Systems

  • In RFID System, when multiple tags respond simultaneously, a collision can occur. A method that solves this collision is referred to anti-collision algorithm. In 13.56MHz RFID system, STAC protocol is defined as an anti-collision algorithm for multiple tag reading. In STAC protocol, there is no differentiation between the collided tags and others in the identification process. Therefore, tags may never be successfully identified because its responses may always collide with others. This situation may cause the tag starvation problem. This paper proposes a fair identification scheme for STAC protocol. In the proposed scheme, if the number of collided slots is large during a query round, the reader broadcasts a CollisionRound command to begin a collision round. During the collision round, the reader identifies only tags that are experienced collision during the previous query round.

  • 대형유통 매장이나 소규모 매장에서 매장의 홍보 및, 상품정보, 행사, 기획상품 등을 고객에게 알리기 위하여 전용 그래픽 툴을 사용하여 프린트하여 전단지 형태로 배포하였다. 그러나 이러한 방식은 매가 변경, 또는 행사내용 적용시 바로 적용이 불가하고 수작업을 통하여 배포하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 그리고 미래형 매장을 구축함에 있어 스마트 선반이나, 전자가격표시장치, RF 카트와 같은 장치와의 호환성 및 고객중심의 매장구축에 있어 기존의 POP 시스템의 개선이 필요하다. 따라서 제안하는 RFID 통합형 e-POP 시스템은 가격, 상품정보 및 고객정보 및 미디어 컨텐츠를 디스플레이 하는 e-POP장치와 고객서비스를 위한 동선분석 및 선호도 측정을 위하여 RFID를 통합하여 지능형 매장 및 매대를 구축하기 위한 기반을 마련하여 기존의 POP시스템을 대체할 수 있는 시스템이다.

  • In RFID systems, the anti-collision algorithm is being improved to recognize Tag's ID within recognition area of the reader quickly and efficiently. This paper focuses on Tag collision. Many studies have been carried out to resolve Tag collision. This paper proposes a new N-ary Query Tree Algorithm to resolve more than Tag collision simultaneously, according to the value of m(2 ~ 6). This algorithm can identify more tags than existing methods by treating a maximum 6 bit collision, regardless of the continuation/non-continuation Tag's ID patterns. So, it extracts maximumly different $2^6$ bit patterns per single prefix in recognition process. The performance of N-ary Query Tree Algorithm is evaluated by theoretical analysis and simulation program.

  • Wire rods are carried by C-Hooks and are tracked by bringing the inspection sensors into contact with steel bars on the C-Hooks. However, the conventional system using mechanical equipment is not reliable due to aging, wearing and bending of steel bars. To overcome these problems, a non-contact type identification system is required. This paper introduces the radio frequency identification(RFID) technology which is one of the most popular non-contact identification methods, and evaluates its performance in the real environment of POSCO. Specifically, we use tags which are designed for operating on high temperature and allowing easy attaching and detaching on the C-Hook. A new monitoring program is developed for reacting upon the conventional system and showing the results of reading of reading tags.

  • RFID 기술은 직접 접촉하거나 가시대역 상에 스캐닝을 할 필요가 없는 장점 때문에 다양한 분야에 활용되고 있으며, 특히 유통 물류분야에 부각을 나타내고 있다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 애드 혹 라우팅 프로토콜인 DSR, AODV, CBRP, DSDV 의 특성을 간략히 살펴 본 후, RFID 를 기반으로 하는 물류창고 시스템의 특성을 반영하여, 앞서 언급한 라우팅 프로토콜들을 서로 비교하고, 장단점을 찾아본다.

  • RFID 시스템에서 태그의 위치를 추적하기 위해서 궤적은 모델링되고 색인되어야 한다. 궤적은 태그가 판독기의 인식영역으로 들어갈 때와 나갈 때 보고되는 두개의 시공간 위치를 연결한 선분으로 표현될 수 있다. 만약 태그가 판독기의 인식영역에 들어와 나가지 않으면 시공간 위치는 오직 태그가 인식영역에 들어올 때만 보고된다. 따라서 판독기에 머물고 있는 태그는 궤적을 표현할 수가 없으므로 질의 시 이러한 태그를 검색할 수 없다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 이 논문에서는 태그의 궤적을 시간 매개변수 간격으로 정의한다. 시간 매개변수 간격은 시간에 따라 시간 축길이가 변하는 시간에 종속적인 선분으로 판독기에 머무는 객체의 궤적을 표현할 수 있다. 또한 RFID 시스템에서 사용되는 질의를 분류하고 효율적인 처리를 위해 태그의 식별자를 차원에 추가하는 방법을 제안한다.

  • This study proposed a traffic responsive urban traffic control system using RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) technology to get traffic information. The proposed system is a decentralized control using model predictive control. The objective of proposed system is to get traffic data using advanced technology for controlling the junctions' traffic rights. A simulation example is provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed model.

  • For an effective energy management in intelligent buildings it is necessary to gather information about position/absence of people and the level of population. In this paper the smart occupancy detection system based on the active RFID is developed to satisfy such a demand. The performance of the developed system is tested and verified through various experiments. Furthermore the feasibility test of the active RFID tag is performed to verify whether it can be used as a location-based occupancy sensor. The developed core technology can be also applied to other fields such as security, healthcare, smart home, etc.

  • Information of freight tracking and tracing is one of core elements in logistics point of view. We can monitor the vehicle or vessel where freights are loaded and get the in-transit data via GPS. However, security problem exists after the shipments are unloaded. RFID is well utilized for securing the container which products are stuffed into. International standard organization sets relevant specification and e-seal appears to be at issue. The paper investigates current status of corresponding technology and proposes the policy for development of logistics industry.
