  • The microstructure and soft magnetic properties of as-deposited Fe-Hf-O thin film alloys, which are produced at $P_{O2}=10%$ by rf magnetron sputtering method in $Ar+O_2$ mixed gas atmosphere, is investigated. Newly developed $Fe_{82}Hf_{3.4}O_{14.6}$ film exhibits good soft magnetic properties with $4{\pi}M_s=17.7$ kG, $H_c=0.7$ Oe and ${\mu}_{eff}$(0.5~100MHz)=2,500, respectively. The Fe-Hf-O films are composed of $\alpha$-Fe nanograins and amorphous phase with larger amounts of Hf and O elements which chemically combine each other. With increasing Hf area fraction, Hf and O contents increased proportionally. It was considered that O content in films was determined by Hf contents, because O was chemically combined with Hf. It results from decreasing the $\alpha$-Fe grain size by precipitates (Hf and O), high electrical resistivity. The $Fe_{82}Hf_{3.4}O_{14.6}$ film exhibits the quality factor (Q=$\mu$'/$\mu$") of 25 at 20 MHz. These good frequency characteristics are considered to be superior to other films already reported.o other films already reported.

  • This paper presents a channel structure for promising high performance pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistor(pHEMT) switching device for design and fabricating of microwave control circuits, such as switches, phase shifters, attenuators, limiters, for application in personal mobile communication systems. Using the designed epitaxial channel layer structure and ETRI's $0.5\mu$m pHEMT switch process, single pole double throw (SPDT) Tx/Rx monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) switch was fabricated for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band wireless local area network (WLAN) systems. The SPDT switch exhibits a low insertion loss of 0.849 dB, high isolation of 32.638 dB, return loss of 11.006 dB, power transfer capability of 25dBm, and 3rd order intercept point of 42dBm at frequency of 5.8GHz and control voltage of 0/-3V These performances are enough for an application to 5 GHz band WLAN systems.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the muscle activation in trunk and low-limbs muscle during squat exercise on various instability surface. 10 subject performed squat with 75% of 1 repetition maximum (1RM) on a stable floor, stability blue, stability black and BOSU. Electromyographic (EMG) activity was measured trunk muscle such as rectus abdomina (RA), external obliques (EO), internal obliques (IO), multifidus (MF), and low-limbs muscle such as gluteus maximus (GMA), gluteus medius (GME), biceps femoris (BF), rectus femoris (RF), vastus medialis oblique (VMO), vastus lateral oblique (VLO), medialis gastrocnemius (MG), lateral gastrocnemius (LG), soleus (SOL) and anterior tibia (AT) when ascending and descending squat phase. One-way ANOVA repeated measure with Sheffe used to compare the muscle activity on the stable and unstable surface. Squat with BOSU ball induces higher muscle activity of IO, MF, GMA and GME compared with stability and stability blue and blackduring descending motion. Squat with BOSU ball induces higher muscle activity of GMA compared with stability and stability blue and blackduring ascending motion. This results suggested that BOSU ball in the squat could be effective increasing of trunk stability and gluteal muscle activity. However, there was no difference of squat on low-limb muscle with or without instability.

  • The Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) satellite was successfully launched and service is being started. By receiving messages transmitted from the KASS satellite, users can employ the messages to improve positioning accuracy or to verify the integrity of Global Positioning System (GPS). In this paper, we propose a test method for a beam-formed GPS receiver developed to improve the survivability of KASS augmented messages that can enhance positioning accuracy even in an environment with jamming or interfering signals. Through the test method proposed in this paper, quantitative verification is performed for a beam-formed GPS receiver aimed at maintaining the augmented navigation solution to which KASS augmented messages are applied by tracking the KASS signal as much as possible under conditions where the jamming signal strength is gradually increasing. In addition, the proposed test method includes three conditions; first, a static lab test method for repeated verification of functions under the same conditions; second, a static outdoor test method for performance verification in an operating environment of a platform equipped with the beam-formed GPS receiver; and finally, a dynamic lab test method for performance verification of a moving platform equipped with the beam-formed GPS receiver toward a jammer. In this paper, we propose a method for simulating the jamming signal incident direction through the phase delay of an RF cable designed to prevent unintentional jamming signal emission in both lab and outdoor tests, and a method of applying test software for injecting a jamming signal to compare the survivability performance consistently according to the presence or absence of beamforming signal processing. Through the proposed test method, it was verified that the augmented navigation solution could be output for a longer time period when the beamforming signal processing was applied to the KASS satellite signal in the beam-formed GPS receiver.
