A Neural Network Aided Kalman Filtering Approach for SINS/RDSS Integrated Navigation

  • Kalman filtering (KF) is hard to be applied to the SINS (Strap-down Inertial Navigation System)/RDSS (Radio Determination Satellite Service) integrated navigation system directly because the time delay of RDSS positioning in active mode is random. BP (Back-Propagation) Neuron computing as a powerful technology of Artificial Neural Network (ANN), is appropriate to solve nonlinear problems such as the random time delay of RDSS without prior knowledge about the mathematical process involved. The new algorithm betakes a BP neural network (BPNN) and velocity feedback to aid KF in order to overcome the time delay of RDSS positioning. Once the BP neural network was trained and converged, the new approach will work well for SINS/RDSS integrated navigation. Dynamic vehicle experiments were performed to evaluate the performance of the system. The experiment results demonstrate that the horizontal positioning accuracy of the new approach is 40.62 m (1 ${\sigma}$), which is better than velocity-feedback-based KF. The experimental results also show that the horizontal positioning error of the navigation system is almost linear to the positioning interval of RDSS within 5 minutes. The approach and its anti-jamming analysis will be helpful to the applications of SINS/RDSS integrated systems.

Transaction Signing-based Authentication Scheme for Secure Distributed Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks (인지 라디오 네트워크의 안전한 분산 스펙트럼 센싱을 위한 트랜잭션 서명기법)

  • Cognitive radio (CR) technology is to maximize the spectrum utilization by allocating the unused spectrums to the unlicensed users. This technology enables the sharing of channels among secondary (unlicensed) and primary (licensed) users on a non-interference basis after sensing the vacant channel and as a result, it is possible to harness wireless frequency more efficiently. To enhance the accuracy of sensing, RDSS was suggested. It is a fusion mechanism based on the reputation of sensing nodes and WSPRT (weighted sequential probability ratio test). However, in RDSS, the execution number of WSPRT could increase according to the order of inputted sensing values, and the fast defense against the forged values is difficult. In this paper, we propose a transaction signing-based authentication scheme for secure distributed spectrum sensing to response the forged values. The validity of proposed scheme is provided by BAN logic.

A Study on the Development of a Specialized Prototype End-Effector for RDSs(Robotic Drilling Systems) (RDS(Robotic Drilling System) 구축을 위한 전용 End-Effector Prototype 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Robotic Drilling Systems(RDSs) set the standard for the factory automation systems in aerospace manufacturing. With the benefits of cost effective drilling and predictive maintenance, RDSs can provide greater flexibility in the manufacturing process. The system can be easily adopted to manage very complex and time-consuming processes, such as automated fastening hole drilling processes of large aircraft sections, where it would be difficult accomplished by workers following teaching or conventional guided methods. However, in order to build an RDS based on a CAD model, the precise calibration of the Tool Center Point(TCP) must be performed in order to define the relationships between the fastening-hole target and the End Effector(EEF). Based on the kinematics principle, the robot manipulator requires a new method to correct the 3D errors between the CAD model of the reference coordinate system and the actual measurements. The system can be called as a successful system if following conditions can be met; a. seamless integration of the industrial robot controller and the IO Level communication, b. performing pre-defined drilling procedures automatically. This study focuses on implementing a new technology called iGPS into the fastening-hole-drilling process, which is a critical process in aircraft manufacturing. The proposed system exhibits better than 100-micron 3D accuracy under the predefined working space. Based on the proposed EEF fastening-hole machining process, the corresponding processes and programs are developed, and its feasibility is studied.

Enhanced Reputation-based Fusion Mechanism for Secure Distributed Spectrum Sensing in Cognitive Radio Networks (인지 라디오 네트워크에서 안전한 분산 스펙트럼 센싱을 위한 향상된 평판기반 퓨전 메커니즘)

  • Spectrum scarcity problem and increasing spectrum demand for new wireless applications have embossed the importance of cognitive radio technology; the technology enables the sharing of channels among secondary (unlicensed) and primary (licensed) users on a non-interference basis after sensing the vacant channel. To enhance the accuracy of sensing, distributed spectrum sensing is proposed. However, it is necessary to provide the robustness against the compromised sensing nodes in the distributed spectrum sensing. RDSS, a fusion mechanism based on the reputation of sensing nodes and WSPRT (weighted sequential probability ratio test), was proposed. However, in RDSS, the execution number of WSPRT could increase according to the order of inputted sensing values, and the fast defense against the forged values is difficult. In this paper, we propose an enhanced fusion mechanism to input the sensing values in reputation order and exclude the sensing values with the high possibility to be compromised, using the trend of reputation variation. We evaluate our mechanism through simulation. The results show that our mechanism improves the robustness against attack with the smaller number of sensing values and more accurate detection ratio than RDSS.

Investigation of ITU Radio Regulations Regarding KPS Service Band

  • In order to reserve frequency bands for stable operation of the Korean Positioning System (KPS), it must be demonstrated that the impact of interference caused by KPS on other services operating in the same bands is tolerable. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) provides the radio regulations and a compatibility assessment methodology for the coexistence of different services in limited frequency resources. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the radio regulations regarding the compatibility issues between the KPS and other services sharing the same frequency bands. The results of the investigation show that the RNSS system can be operated in the L5-band under the condition that the Power Flux Density (PFD) and Aggregated Equivalent PFD (AEPFD) thresholds specified in the radio regulations are met. In addition, the ITU recommends that the interference-to-noise ratio (INR) protection criteria be met to prevent degradation of the performance of radar systems operating in the L2/L6-band. In the case of the S-band, coordination of allocations for RDSS space stations with respect to terrestrial services is not required if the PFD does not exceed regulated thresholds regulated by ITU.
