  • The need to consider torsion in the design of members of a structure has recently been increasing; therefore, many studies on torsion have been carried out. Recent research was focused on the torsional performance of concrete according to the reinforcing materials used. Of particular interest, are torsion studies of beams made of SFRC(steel fiber reinforced concrete), and there has been increasing use of SFRC at construction sites. In contrast, research on the composite PVA-ECC (polyvinyl alcohol-engineered cementitious composite) has only covered its mechanical performance, though it exhibits excellent tensile-strain performance (better than SFRC). Therefore, research on the torsion of concrete beams retrofitted using PVA-ECC is lacking. In this study, the behavior characteristics and performance of reinforced-concrete beams retrofitted by PVA-ECC was investigated experimentally. The experimental results show that the resistance to torsional cracking is increased by PVA-ECC. In addition, the strain on the rebar of the specimen was found to be reduced.

고로슬래그 미분말 및 순환잔골재를 적용한 PVA섬유 보강 철근콘크리트 보의 구조성능 평가 (Evaluation of Structural Performance of RC Beams retrofitted PVA Fiber to the Change of Replacement Ratio of Recycled Fine Aggregates and Blast Furnace Slag)

  • In this study, total nine R/C beams, designed by the PVA Fiber with ground granulated blast furnace slag and recycled fine aggregate were constructed and tested under monotonic loading. In the material development, micromechanics was adopted to properly select the optimized range of the composite based on steady-state cracking theory and experimental studies on the matrix and interracial properties. Experimental programs were carried out to improve and evaluate the structural performance of the test specimens: the load-displacement, the failure mode, the maximum strength, and ductility capacity were assessed. Test results showed that test specimens (BSPR-20, 40) was increased the maximum load carrying capacity by 3~6% and the ductility capacity by 9~14% in comparison with the standard specimen (BSS). And the specimens (BSPR-60, 80, 100) was decreased the maximum load carrying capacity by 0~4% and the ductility capacity by 79% in comparison with the standard specimen (BSS) respectively.

순환굵은골재 및 고로슬래그 미분말을 사용한 하이브리드섬유보강 철근콘크리트 보의 구조성능 개선 (Improvement of Structural Performance of RC Beams retrofitted Hybrid Fiber using Recycled Coarse Aggregate and Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag)

  • 본 연구에서는 표준실험체 (BSS), 순환굵은골재와 고로슬래그 미분말의 치환과 하이브리드섬유를 보강한 실험체 ($BSPRR_1$, $BSPRR_2$시리즈), 순환굵은골재와 고로슬래그 미분말의 치환과 PVA섬유를 보강한 실험체 (BSPG시리즈)로 총 13개의 실험체를 실물크기의 1/2로 축소 제작하여 실험을 수행하였다. 실험을 통하여 얻어진 결과를 비교 분석하여 하중-변위, 파괴형태, 최대내력 등을 규명함으로써 구조성능의 개선정도를 평가하였다. 실험결과 순환굵은골재와 고로슬래그 미분말을 치환한 콘크리트에 하이브리드섬유를 보강한 실험체 ($BSPRR_1$, $BSPRR_2$시리즈)의 경우 표준실험체 (BSS)에 비하여 압축강도는 최대 13%, 최대내력은 4~21%, 연성능력은 각각 4~28% 증가하는 결과를 나타내었다. 그리고 또한, 충분한 연성적인 거동과 안정적인 휨인장 파괴를 나타내었다.
