  • 본 논문에서는 Subtractive clustering 알고리즘을 이용한 Fuzzy Radial Basis Function Neural Network (FRBFNN)의 규칙 수를 자동적으로 생성하는 방법을 제시한다. FRBFNN은 멤버쉽 함수로써 기존 RBFNN에서 가우시안이나 타원형 형태의 특정 RBF를 사용하는 구조와 달리 Fuzzy C-Means clustering 알고리즘에서 사용하는 거리에 기한 멤버쉽 함수를 사용하여 전반부의 공간 분할 및 활성화 레벨을 결정하는 구조이다. 본 논문에서는 데이터의 밀집도에 기반을 두어 클러스터링을 하는 Subtractive clustering 알고리즘을 사용하여 퍼지 규칙의 수와 같은 의미를 갖는 분할할 입력공간의 수와 분할된 입력공간의 중심값을 동정하며, Least Square Estimator (LSE) 알고리즘을 사용하여 후반부 다항식의 계수를 추정 한다.

  • The classification performance of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) and RBF-NN was compared for Landsat TM image. The RBF-NN was validated for three unique landuse types (e.g. Mixed landuse area, Cultivated area, Urban area), different input band combinations and classification class. The bootstrap resampling technique was employed to estimate the confidence intervals and distribution for unit load, The pollutant generation was varied significantly according to the classification accuracy and percentile unit load applied. Especially in urban area, where mixed landuse is dominant, the difference of estimated pollutant load is largely varied.

  • THe purpose of this study is to forecast of runoff hydrographs according to rainfall event in a stream. The neural network theory as a hydrologic blackbox model is used to solve hydrological problems. The Back-Propagation(BP) algorithm by the Levenberg-Marquardt(LM) techniques and Radial Basis Function(RBF) network in Neural Network(NN) models are used. Runoff hydrograph is forecasted in Bocheongstream basin which is a IHP the representative basin. The possibility of a simulation for runoff hydrographs about unlearned stations is considered. The results show that NN models are performed to effective learning for rainfall-runoff process of hydrologic system which involves a complexity and nonliner relationships. The RBF networks consist of 2 learning steps. The first step is an unsupervised learning in hidden layer and the next step is a supervised learning in output layer. Therefore, the RBF networks could provide rather time saved in the learning step than the BP algorithm. The peak discharge both BP algorithm and RBF network model in the estimation of an unlearned are a is trended to observed values.

  • To obtain good performance of radial basis function (RBF) neural networks, it needs very careful consideration in design. The selection of several parameters such as the number of centers and widths of the radial basis functions must be considered carefully since they critically affect the network's performance. We propose a learning algorithm for growing of complexity of RBF neural networks which is adapted automatically according to the complexity of tasks. The algorithm generates a new basis function based on the errors of network, the percentage of decreasing rate of errors and the nearest distance from input data to the center of hidden unit. The RBF's center is located at the point where the maximum of absolute interference error occurs in the input space. The width is calculated based on the standard deviation of distance between the center and inputs data. The steepest descent method is also applied for adjusting the weights, centers, and widths. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm, general problem of function estimation is evaluated. The results obtained from the simulation show that the proposed algorithm for RBF neural networks yields good performance in terms of convergence and accuracy compared with those obtained by conventional multilayer feedforward networks.

  • To control nonlinear chemical processes, a new neural linearizing control scheme is proposed. This is a hybrid of a radial basis function(RBF) network and a linear controller, thus the control action applied to the process is the sum of both control actions. Firstly, to train the RBF newtork a linear reference model is determined by analyzing the past operating data of the process. Then, the training of the RBF newtork is iteratively performed to minimize the difference between outputs of the process and the linear reference model. As a result, the apparent dynamics of the process added by the RBF newtork becomes similar to that of the linear reference model. After training, the original nonlinear control problem changes to a linear one, and the closed-loop control performance is improved by using the optimum tuning parameters of the linear controller for the linear dynamics. The proposed control scheme performs control and training simultaneously, and shows a good control performance for nonlinear chemical processes.

  • It is the hybrid structure of HMM and neural network(NN) that shows high recognition rate in speech recognition algorithms. And it is a method which has majorities of statistical model and neural network model respectively. In this study, we propose a new style of the hybrid structure of semi-continuous HMM(SCHMM) and radial basis function(RBF), which re-estimates weighting coefficients probability affecting observation probability after Baum-Welch estimation. The proposed method takes account of the similarity of basis Auction of RBF's hidden layer and SCHMM's probability density functions so as to discriminate speech signals sensibly through the learned and estimated weighting coefficients of RBF. As simulation results show that the recognition rates of the hybrid structure SCHMM/RBF are higher than those of SCHMM in unlearned speakers' recognition experiment, the proposed method has been proved to be one which has more sensible property in recognition than SCHMM.

  • The FCM based hybrid RBF network is a heterogeneous learning network model that applies FCM algorithm between input and middle layer and applies Max_Min algorithm between middle layer and output. The Max-Min neural network uses winner nodes of the middle layer as input but shows inefficient learning in performance when the input vector consists of too many patterns. To overcome this problem, we propose a dynamic learning rate control based on fuzzy logic. The proposed method first classifies accurate/inaccurate class with respect to the difference between target value and output value with threshold and then fuzzy membership function and fuzzy decision logic is designed to control the learning rate dynamically. We apply this proposed RBF network to the character recognition problem and the efficacy of the proposed method is verified in the experiment.

  • This paper presents the desired position control of the mobile inverted pendulum system(MIP). The MIP is required to track the circular trajectory in the xy plane through the kinematic Jacobian relationship between the xy plane and the joint space. The reference compensation technique of the radial basis function(RBF) network is used as a neural network control method. The back-propagation teaming algorithm of the RBF network is derived and embedded on a DSP board. Experimental studies of tracking the circular trajectory are conducted.

  • 반도체 제조공정 중 식각공정(Etching)은 웨이퍼표면으로부터 화학적, 물리적으로 불필요한 물질들을 선택적으로 제거하는 방법이다. 식각공정 중 하나인 플라즈마 식각(Plasma etching) 공정에서 오버식각(over-etching) 과언더식각(under-etching) 되는것을피하기위해서통계적인방법을기준으로식각종료점(endpoint)를 결정한다. 본 논문의 목표는 통계적인 분석방법을 이용하지 않고 실시간 식각 데이터(realtime etching data)를 사용해서 식각 종료점을 검출하는 것이다. 식각 데이터는 시계열 데이터(time-series data)이기 때문에 간단한 구조와 적은 계산량으로 빠른 수렴속도와 좋은 안정도를 가진 Radial Basis Function Neural Network's (RBF-NN) 를 이용하여 시계열 모델(time-series model)을 구현 하였다. 광학방사분광기(Optical Emission Spectroscopy: OES)로부터 나온 6개의 데이터 세트중에서 4개의 데이터 세트는 RBF-NN을 학습하는데 사용되고 2개의 데이터 세트는 모델의 성과를 시험해 보기 위하여 사용하였다. 학습을 위한 데이터들은 Matrix화 시켜서 목표값을 설정하여 학습시킨다. 실험한 결과 학습한 RBF-NN 모형이 식각 종료점(endpoint)를 정확하게 검출된다는 것을 보여준다.

  • The application of neural network for fault dection of cutting force in turning was introduced. This monitoring system consist of a RBF predicton model and a ART-1 pattern classifier. RBF prediction model predict a cutting force signal. Prediction error of predictor is used for a input vector of ART-1 pattern classifier. Prediction error could be successfully performed to fault signal monitoring of ART-1 pattern classifier.
