Leaf and Stem Production of Perilla frutescens by Fertilizing of Sta-Green

  • This study was conducted to determine feasibility of production system of Perilla frutescens leaf-stem by fertilizing of Sta-Green in pots. Germination rate of Perilla frutescens seeds collected in 2002 was $7\%$, also germination rate of seeds collected in 2003 was $62\%$, while germination rate of seeds collected in 2004 was above $93\%$. Seed germination rate of Perilla frutescens collected in 2004 were higher than seed gathering in 2002. Especially, plant growth and yield of Perilla frutescens grown in pot(The pots was filled with soil mixtures of Sta-Green and Peat Moss mixed with 40:60 ratio.) was the highest. These results indicate that leaf and stem production of Perilla frutescens can be improved by fertilizing of Sta-Green in pots.

임간재배 시 병풍쌈 유묘의 차광처리별 생장 및 생리 반응 (The Growth and Physiological Responses of Cacalia firma Seedlings by Shading Conditions in Forest Farming)

  • 병풍쌈(Cacalia firma)은 병풍취라고도 하며 초롱꽃목 국화과에 속하는 다년생 식물로 한국, 중국, 일본에 분포되어있다. 웰빙 삶을 위한 생활식습관의 변화에 따라 기능성 식품과 유기농 채소에 대한 소비자의 요구가 증가하고 있다. 본 연구는 병풍쌈 임간재배를 위한 적정 광조건을 구명하기 위해 1년생 병풍쌈에 대해 차광망을 이용하여 4가지 광조건 25%, 55%, 75%와 95% 차광처리(전광의 50%, 30%, 20%, 10% 상대광도)와 대조구(전광)에서 생육 후 초기 생장과 생리적 반응을 조사 분석하였다. 75% 차광처리구는 대조구와 비슷한 초장, 뿌리생육과 함수율을 보였으나, 잎의 길이, 폭과 면적이 증가하여 엽 건중량과 총 건중량이 증가하였다. 특히 95% 차광처리구에서는 대조구에 비해 근원경과 뿌리길이는 감소하였으며 총 건중량도 감소하였으나, 초장이 약 40% 증가 하였으며 엽 생육과 함수량 또한 증가하였다. 엽면적비(specific leaf area; SLA)와 엽면적률(leaf area ratio; LAR)은 통계적 유의성을 보이며 대조구에 비해 매우 높게 나타나 잎의 두께가 얇고 수광면적이 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같이 병풍쌈은 낮은 광조건에서도 원활한 탄소동화작용을 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구 결과 병풍쌈의 임간재배를 통한 적정 광요구는 차광처리 75~95%(상대광도 10~20%)로 조사되었으며, 산채류로써의 상품성을 고려할 때 임간지역에서 75% 이상 차광재배 함으로써 식감과 생산량을 높일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. 이 연구결과는 병풍쌈의 임간재배 가능성을 위한 기초자료로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

인삼생육의 최적광량에 관한 연구 제1보. 광도가 인삼의 지상부생육 및 근수량에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the Optimum Light Intensity for Growth of Punux ginseng ( I ) Effects of Light Intensity on Growth of Shoots and Roots of Ginseng Plants)

  • To determine the optimum light intensity for growth of ginseng plants, change of temperature, moisture content in son, occurrence alternaria blight, defoliation rate, chlorophyll contents, and growth of shoots and roots were investigated under different light intensity such as 5%, 10%, 20% and 30% light transmittance rare(L.T.R.). The results obtained were as follows. 1. Maximum temperature under the shading was increased as the increase of light intensity, whereas soil moisture content decreased 2. As the increase of light intensity, stem and Peduncle length, leaf area, and chlorophyll contents decreased significantly but length and width of the leaf was not significant, while stem diameter, special leaf weight and chlorophyll a/chl. b ratio increased 3. Stem color was shown dark purp!e as the increase of light intensity. 4. Photosynthesis during the day was highest at 9 A.M. and decreased as time passed in all plots. The means of photouynthesis during the day showed in the order of 20%, 10%, 30%, 5% L.T.R., and optimum light intensity for highest photosxthesis was 18.4% L.T.R. by theoritical equation. 5. It was showed a tendency that alternaria leaf blight of ginseng plants was increased as the increase of light intensity. 6. Defoliation rate of ginseng plants was increased as the increase of light intensity, especially all plants were defoliated by late June without shading. 7. Yield percentage of the rear line was increased as the increase of light intensity. Root weight per plant showed in the order of 20%, 10%, 30%, 5% L.T.R., and optimum light intensity for the best yield was 18.5% L.T.R. by theeritical equation.

배지내 천연유기물 첨가가 딸기 "설향" 배양묘 기내 생육에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Natural Additives on In Vitro Growth Medium of Strawberry 'Seolhyang')

  • Strawberry which is the genus Fragaria under family Rosaceae is one of the most important fruit plants for both fresh consumption and food processing in the temperate and subtropical countries. Propagation of strawberry is achieved either through runners or by in vitro micropropagation. Meristem tips, generally obtained from runners of virus-free plants, are commonly used to establish in vitro cultures, which are employed for mass propagation or as a source of plant material for regeneration and transformation experiments. This study was conducted to determine the optimal natural additives strength to improve sprouting shoot rate of apical meristem of strawberry 'Seolhyang'. Strawberry apical meristem at size (0.2 mm to 0.3 mm) with leaf primordials were cultured on the 1/3MS(Murashige & Skoog) medium supplemented with five natural additives such as coconut milk, maple sap, banana powder and peptone. The sprouting ratio and growth characteristics were evaluated after eight weeks after in vitro culture. Shoot ratio of 'Seolhyang' apical meristem was 72.9% in 1/3MS medium supplemented with maple sap. On the other hand, the low shoot ratio was observed 47.7% in 1/3MS medium supplemented with banana powder. Shoot length was different as natural additives but numbers of leaf was not significantiy different among the natural additives. As a result, the sprouting ratio and plant growth were enhanced effectively in 1/3MS medium with maple sap compared to the others.

두둑높이가 넓은잎큰조롱의 생육 및 근수량에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Ridge Height on Growth and Tuber Yield in Cynanchum auriculatum Royle ex Wight)

  • 넓은잎큰조롱의 두둑높이에 따른 생산성 및 품질향상을 위하여 재배법 확립의 기초자료로 제공하고자 두둑높이를 달리하여 2005년부터 3년간 시험한 결과, 만장, 엽장, 엽폭, 엽수, 엽록소함량, 경엽 건물중은 두둑높이가 높을수록 양적인 증가를 가져왔으나, 경태와 분지수는 두둑높이가 낮을수록 굵거나, 많은 경향이었다. 근수와 근장은 두둑높이 20 cm까지는 두둑높이가 높을수록 많거나, 길었으나, 20 cm 이상의 두둑높이에서는 생육량이 감소하였으며, 근태는 두둑높이가 낮을수록 굵어지는 경향이었다. 비상품근 중 세근은 두둑높이 20 cm에서 다소 많았으며, 부패근은 두둑높이가 낮을수록 많은 경향이었고, 근수량은 두둑높이 20 cm내지 30 cm 까지는 두둑높이가 높을수록 증수되어 두둑높이 10 cm의 515 kg/10a 대비 3%, 11% 증수되었다.

봄 재배 연맥의 생육시기별 건물수량 및 화학조성분 (Dry Mater Yield and Chemical Composition of Spring Oats at Various Stage of Growth)

  • 연맥의 수확시 생육시기가 건물수량 및 사료적인 가치에 미치는 영향을 알기 위하여 1993년 3월 13일에 계명전문대학 부속목장에서 파종하여 지엽출현전, 지엽출현기, 출수기, 유숙기 및 호숙기에 수확하였다. 1. 사초의 건물함량은 지엽출현전, 지엽출현기, 출수기, 유숙기 및 호숙기에 각각 11.8, 12.3, 14.9, 25.6 및 28.8%로 지엽출현전부터 cnftnrlRK지는 낮았으나 출수기부터 호숙기까지는 급격히 증가되었다. 2. 잎의 비율은 지엽출현전의 58%에서 호숙기에는 11%로 생육이 진행된에 EK라 감소 되었고 이ㅗ영과 내영을 포함란 곡실의 비율은 출수기 7%에서 호숙기에는 43%로 증가 되었다. 3. 조단백질의 함량은 생육이 진행된에 EK라 감소(P<.05)되었고 그 범위는 24.9%에서 10.7%였다. 4. NDF의 함량은 생육이 진행된에 따라 출수기를 정점으로 증가(P<.05)되다가 유숙기에는 감소(P<.05)되었고 그 이후부터는 변화가 없었다. ADF의 함량은 출수기를 정점으로 증가(P<.05)되다가 유숙기부터는 감소(P<.05)되었다. 5, 건물수량은 지엽출현전, 지엽출현기, 출수기, 유숙기 및 호숙기에 각각 2,420, 4,380, 7,190, 13,130 및 14,530kg로 생육시기가 진행된에 EK라 증가(P<.05)되었다. 6. 본 시험의 결과에 의하면 봄 연맥의 사일리지 제조를 위하여 일시에 수확한다면 유숙기가 알맞다고 생각된다.

딸기의 잎과 탁엽 절편체로부터 기관형성을 통한 식물체 재생 (Plant Regeneration via Organogenesis from Leaf and Stipule Segments of Strawberry (Fragaria ananassa Duch.))

  • 딸기 '수홍'의 기내배양된 잎과 탁엽 절편체로부터 기관형성을 통한 식물체 재생 방법을 확립하고자 실험을 수행하였다. 엽절편체 배양에서는 생장조절제 처리에 따라 NAA 첨가시에는 뿌리 재생, BA 첨가시에는 신초 재생이 이루어졌으며, BA 1.0㎎/L + NAA 0.2 ㎎/L 처리구에서 재생률 31.1%, 절편체당 신초수 1.7개로 가장 양호하였다. 탁엽절편체 배양에서는 생장조절제와 광조건의 처리를 실시하였는데, 명조건에서는 생장조절제 처리에 따른 뚜렷한 경향을 발견할 수 없었으나, 암조건에서는 고농도 BA와 저농도 NAA의 혼용처리가 신초 재생에 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 탁엽절편체는 BA 2.0 ㎎/L + NAA 0.1㎎/L 처리구에서 재생률 44.4%, 절편체당 신초수 4.0개로 가장 양호한 반응을 나타내었다. 재생된 신초는 NAA 0.1㎎/L 가 첨가된 MS배지에서 발근되었으며, 이어서 인공토양(vermiculite : perlite = 1 : 1)에서 성공적으로 활착을 유도할 수 있었다.

수경재배 잎들깨의 생육과 수량에 미치는 코이어 배지의 혼합비율 효과 (Effect of Coir Substrate Mixing Ratios on the Growth and Yield of Perilla Leaves under Hydroponics)

  • This study aimed to determine the most suitable coir substrate mixing ratio for optimizing the growth and yield of the "lpduelkkae 1" cultivar. We comprehensively analyzed the physicochemical properties, growth, and yields of four different substrate combinations: perlite (coir with mixing ratios of 70:30 (PC30), 50:50 (PC50), and 30:70 (PC70)) and 100% coir (C100). The results revealed substantial differences in substrate properties. C100 exhibited the highest total porosity and the lowest solid phase, indicating excellent air permeability. The pH levels and electrical conductivity (EC) values ranged from 5.4-6.8 and 1.2-3.1 dS·m-1, respectively. Leaf growth parameters, including length, width, and dry weight, showed positive correlations with high coir ratios, except for PC30. PC70 and C100 outperformed other substrates in stem growth, exhibiting superior stem diameter and fresh and dry weights. The quantity of marketable leaves was the highest in the C100 substrate. Furthermore, C100 comprised integrated levels of essential nutrients, such as Ca and Mg, owing to its high coir content. In conclusion, a coir ratio of approximately 70% (v/v) should be maintained in the substrate for creating an optimal cultivation environment. Furthermore, the selection of humidity-resistant varieties as well as precise nutrient and moisture management for different seasons and growth stages are crucial for a successful perilla leaf hydroponic cultivation.

Influence of Re-growth Interval on Chemical Composition, Herbage Yield, Digestibility and Digestion Kinetics of Setaria sphacelata and Cenchrus ciliaris in Buffaloes

  • This study examined the influence of re-growth periods on chemical composition, biomass production, nutritive value and digestion kinetics of Setaria sphacelata (SS) and Cenchrus ciliaris (CC) in ruminally cannulated buffalo bulls. Two re-growth intervals i.e. clipping every month ($CI_1$) and clipping after every two months ($CI_2$) were compared with the control (clipped after 4 months). Mean values of leaf to stem ratio in SS and CC grasses were decreased (p<0.05) with increasing re-growth interval. The lowest leaf to stem ratio was recorded in control plots of both grasses. In both grasses, increasing growth period increased the concentrations of dry matter (DM), neutral detergent fiber (NDF) and organic matter (OM) and decreased crude protein (CP). Mean dry herbage, OM and CP yields of SS and CC were increased (p<0.05) with increasing re-growth interval. Ruminal DM and NDF digestibilities of SS and CC were decreased (p<0.05) with increasing interval. Ruminal rate of DM and NDF disappearance was higher while the ruminal lag time of these nutrients was lower with monthly than with bi-monthly clipping interval. The results from present study imply that SS and CC clipped after every two months is more beneficial than when clipped every month or every four months in terms of optimal biomass with adequate nutritional value for buffaloes.

블랙베리(Rubus fructicosus L.) 돌연변이 유전자원의 생육특성과 형태학적 변이 분석 (Growth Characteristics and Morphological Variation Analysis of Mutant Lines Derived from Gamma-ray and Chemical Mutagen Treatments in Rubus fructicosus L.)

  • This study was carried out to evaluate growth, morphological characteristics, and sugar content among fifty six blackberry (Rubus fructicosus) genotypes derived from gamma-ray treatment (fifty two lines), MNU treatments (three lines), and cross breed R. fructicosus${\times}$R. parvifolius(one line). While 56 genotypes had similar stem diameter with origin variety, the most of mutants showed reduced leaf size. Also, they showed a wide range of variation in fruit size and one hundred fruit weight compared with origin variety. In fruit size and sugar content, two mutant lines showed large fruit sizes and ten mutant lines showed 20% higher sugar content than the original variety. In the correlation analysis, positive relationships were determined between sugar content and stem diameter, fruit length, leaf wide and fruit length/fruit wide ratio. However, leaf length/leaf wide ratio showed a negative correlation with sugar content. The results will be used as fundamental data for Rubus fructicosus breeding program.
