Preliminary Hazard Analysis for Communication Software in Train Communication Network (열차 차상 통신용 소프트웨어의 사전 위험원 분석 연구)

  • To guarantee safety and reliability, RAMS(Reliability Availability Maintainability and Safety) activity for a communication software in train communication network is studied. In this paper, preliminary hazard analysis in RAMS activities is studied for the communication software. Preliminary hazard analysis is done through library for communication software that the specification is defined by IEC 61375. The hazards are defined, then causes and consequence for each hazard are defined. The total 36 preliminary hazards are classified. For high severity hazards are changed to acceptable level by upgrading of system requirement specification.

  • This study investigates the Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) Method for the railroad vehicle. Recently, RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) is one of the most important issues in the railroad industry. FMECA is prerequisite for the RAMS Analysis, and it is a procedure to identify the potential failure modes and their effects and to reduce or mitigate the critical effects on the system. FMECA is used in various industries and it is specialized in each industry. For instance, MIL-1629a and SAE-J1739 are specialized FMECA method for Military industry and Automotive industry, respectively. Although the railroad industry requires the high reliability system, it does not have a specialized FMECA yet. Thus, in this paper, an FMECA method specialized to the railroad vehicle was proposed through analyses and comparison of the MIL-1629a, SAE-J1739 and IEC-60812 standards.

  • Systems Engineering is the process that controls the technical system development effort with the goal of achieving an optimum balance of all system elements. FRACAS(Failure Reporting an d Corrective Action System) is one of RAMS(Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) tasks which is conducted from a manufacturing phase. FRACAS is to determine the basic cause of failure resulting from design or manufacture, and to provide a closed-loop method of implementing corrective action. This paper presents the FRACAS established for assessment of the reliability, the analysis and management of the failure data for Korean High Speed Train and application cases.

  • In this paper we present a safety plan to be applied to the development of the TCS(Train Control System). The safety plan that can be applied to the life cycle of a system, from the conceptual design to the dismantlement, shows the whole process of the paper work in detail through the establishment of a goal, analysis and assessment, the verification. In this paper we study about the making a plan, the preliminary hazard analysis, the hazard identification and analysis to guarantee the safety of the TCS. The process far the verification of the system safety is divided into several steps based on the target system and the approaching method. The guarantee of the system safety and the improvement of the system reliability is fellowed by the recommendation of the international standards.

  • 최근 철도차량은 안전성과 신뢰성 향상을 위해 점차 복잡하게 설계 제작되고, 품질에 대한 기대와 요구수준이 점차 높아짐에 따라 운영기관에서는 과학적이고 체계적인 예방 정비를 통한 안전성과 가용성 향상을 위해 노력하고 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 여러 방안들이 연구되고 있으며, 대표적으로 신뢰성 기반 유지보수(RCM; Reliability Centered Maintenance)가 철도분야에 지속적으로 도입되고 있는 추세이다. 본 연구에서는 새로운 예방정비 기술로 대두되고 있는 RCM의 기본이론에 대한 고찰과 RCM의 일반적 실시 절차를 소개하고, RCM의 국제규격인 IEC 60300-3-11, NAVAIR 00-25-403, MIL-STD-2173을 비교 분석하여 이를 바탕으로 철도차량에 RCM 도입 시 효과적이고 적합한 절차 및 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • The purpose of maintaining rolling stock is to perform train service without failure during operation. It is not possible to prevent failure, however, by using periodic preventive maintenance methods, because new rolling stock is made from many electric components and requires the application of IT skills. RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) methods have consequently been applied to new manufactured rolling stock in KORAIL since implementation of the KTX. With this approach it is possible to verify the reliability at the operating stage, and RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) methods for maintenance have been applied to manufactured rolling stock since the beginning of KTX service. A RCRM (Reliability Centered Rolling-stocks Maintenance) system suitable for the characteristics of rolling stock and operational factors is introduced in this paper.

International Standard IEC 60300 Dependability Management Part 3-5(IEC 60300-3-5) involves application guides of Reliability test conditions and Statistical test principles.   • 도시철도시스템은 차량, 전력, 신호, 선로구축물 등이 유기적으로 결합된 복합시스템으로 고장 또는 사고가 발생하면 원인규명이 어렵고 사고에 따른 영향이 매우 크기 때문에 시스템의 신뢰성과 안전성은 매우 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 철도에서 적용되고 있는 신뢰성관련 국제 규격을 분석하여 국내에서 개발하고 있는 무인운전 도시철도시스템에 이러한 규격들의 내용들을 충족하는 관리체계를 제시하고자 한다. 즉 기존에 적용하고 있는 신뢰성 관리체계인 IEC 60300, IEC 62278, MIL-STD-785B 등의 특성과 장점을 비교분석하여 도시철도시스템에 구체적으로 적용할 수 있는 신뢰성관리체계를 제시하고자 한다.

  • There are lots of efforts to get more and more higher level of reliability, maintainability, availability, and safety in all the railway system development process. To do a RAMS activity and process very effectively, many an information is required based on operational knowledge and manufacturer's engineering technology together. But some interests between organization in demand sector and manufacturers in supply makes it difficult to do. This paper, for this reason, presents an idea about the activities and process for SR001 system, which is newly under developing and manufacturing by SMRT. Especially, we provide it with some idea how to integrate every activity and process and to analyze it specifically for system level as well. With these efforts, we provide a typical RAMS process of SR001 that could be applicable to other rolling stock system and the improvement of the system over total life cycle phases.

  • Today, it is a time when self-help efforts are being made to increase the demand for international certification by domestic and foreign railway orderers and develop excellent railway systems for railway system and railway construction projects. Since 2011, cases of obtaining international certification related to the domestic railway system/products have been collected and analyzed through literature and Internet data and based on the analysis results, evaluation results on the acquisition of international certification in Korea are presented. Through these results, the government, research institutes, and industries will be practical reference materials for international certification-related work.
