A Flexible Approach for Efficient Elliptic Curve Multi-Scalar Multiplication on Resource-constrained Devices (자원이 제약된 장치에서 효율적인 타원곡선 다중 상수배의 구현을 위한 유연한 접근)

  • Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem (ECC) is suitable for resource-constrained devices such as smartcards, and sensor motes because of its short key size. This paper presents an efficient multi-scalar multiplication algorithm which is the main component of the verification procedure in Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm (ECDSA). The proposed algorithm can make use of a precomputed table of variable size and provides an optimal efficiency for that precomputed table. Furthermore, the given scalar is receded on-the-fly so that it can be merged with the main multiplication procedure. This can achieve more savings on memory than other receding algorithms. Through experiments, we have found that the optimal sizes of precomputed tables are 7 and 15 when uP+vQ is computed for u, v of 163 bits and 233 bits integers. This is shown by comparing the computation time taken by the proposed algorithm and other existing algorithms.

  • So far today, there is a speed limit by the radius of curve based on operation regulation in domestic railway, however a study for the maximum running speed at the curved section without any derailment would be necessary. The two major factors related to the running safety of railway vehicle are classified as the railway vehicle condition and the track condition. In terms of the rail inclination among many other factors, the determination of rail inclination within the possible limit is necessary for the geometrical structure of the optimum track. The disregard of the geometrical parameter related to the rail inclination may cause a serious problem to the running safety of railway vehicle. This study is focusing on the analyzing of running safety regard to the change of rail inclination among the many other parameters to improve derailment safety, so that there is an affection analysis of the running safety regard to the change of rail inclination in the ideal and geometric track condition. Also There is an affection analysis of the running safety regard to the simultaneous change of rail inclination and the running speed at the curved section. According to analysis results of running safety, In case that the left and right rail inclination are 1/40, the running safety of this condition defined than other conditions. Also, the rail inclination of conventional lines is 1/40, Therefore, the railway vehicle passing through curve is safe when the railway vehicle runs in conventional lines.

Evaluation of Fracture Toughness on High Frequency Electric Resistance Welded API 5LB Steel Pipe (API 5LB강관의 고주파전기저항용접부에 관한 파괴인성 평가)

  • The evaluation of the elastic-plastic fracture toughness $J_{1C}$ was performed on the center of weld metal(CWM), the heat affected zone (HAZ) and the base metal (BM) of API 5LB steel pipes welded by the high frequency electric resistance welding. The $J_{1C}$ was evaluated by the JSME R-Curve and JSME SZW methods using the smooth and side-grooved specimens. The results are as follows; (1) The $J_{1C}$ values by the SZW method are overestimated as compared with those by the R-curve method, because the micro-crack is formed as SZW increase with the deformation at SZ after initiation of the ductile crack. (2) The everage of $J_{1C}$ values by the the R-curve and the SZW methods in side-grooved specimens tended to decrease in comparison with smooth specimens 9.42% at CWM, 4.2% at HAZ, 23.2% at BM, respectively. (3) The boundary of the fatigue pre-crack, stretched zone, and dimple regions appeared more clearly in side-grooved specimens, for the slight change of SZW in the direction of the plate thickness, as compared with smooth specimens.

Investigation on the Turbulent Flow-Field of a Small-size Axial Fan with Different Operating Points (운전점이 다른 소형 축류홴의 난류 유동장 고찰)

  • The turbulent flow characteristics around a small-size axial fan(SSAF) for a refrigerator are strongly dependent upon the operating points. Four operating points such as $\phi$ =0.1, 0.18, 0.25 and 0.32 were adopted in this study to investigate three-dimensional turbulent flow characteristics around the SSAF by using a fiber-optic type Laser Doppler Anemometer(LDA) system. Downstream mean velocity profiles of the SSAF along the radial distance show that axial and tangential velocity components exist predominantly, except $\phi$ = 0.1, and have a maximum value at $r/R{\fallingdotseq}0.8$, but radial velocity component having a relatively small value only turns flow direction to the outside or the central part of the SSAF. The turbulent intensity shows that the radial component exists most greatly after $r/R{\fallingdotseq}0.5$. Downstream turbulent kinetic energy at $\phi$ = 0.25 and 0.32 together has the largest peak value at $r/R{\fallingdotseq}0.9$.

  • Using the SMC(sheet moulding compound) composite material consisting of E-glass chopped strand mat and unsaturated polyester resin, three-point bending tests are carried out to evaluate the elasto-plastic fracture toughness by means of R curve. The crack extension is experimentally observed with the ink staining method. The point of stable crack growth is discussed in consideration of the load-load point displacement curve, the damage behavior of the notch vicinity, and the R-curves. The damage zone of the notch vicinity was composed of the initiation and growth of subcracks as well as those of the main crack. The point of stable crack growth can be defined as the inflection point in the R curves and its point also concurrs with the proportional limit on the load-load point displacement curve.

  • The apparent negative crack growth phenomenon which usually arises in partial unloading compliance test is well known. The reason for apparent negative crack growth is the compressive residual stress caused by the plastic zone around the crack tip. The phenomenon as a possible source of error in determining $J_{JC}$ or J-R curve from partial unloading compliance experiments may be eliminated by the correction of compliance. A compliance correction equation is derived from a stress field analysis near the crack tip.

  • To obtain $A_2$ experimentally in the $J-A_2$ theory, deformation field on the lateral surface of a CT specimen was to be determined using Laser speckle method. The crack growth was measured using direct current potential drop method and most procedure of experimental and data reduction was performed according to ASTM Standard E1737-96. Laser speckle images during crack propagation were monitored by two CCD cameras to cancel the effect of rotation and translation of the specimen. An algorithm to pursue displacement of a point from each image was developed and successfully used to measure $A_2$ continuously as the crack tip was propagated. The effects of specimen thickness on J-R curve and $A_2$ were explored.

  • In this study, J-integral values obtained by various methods, i.e, R-Curve, Unloading Compliance, Strectched Zone Width [SZW], and Acoustic Emission [AE] methods are investigated. Elasto-plastic fracture toughness [$J_IC$] estimations by R-curve method are overestimated than those by SZW method, and those by unloading compliance method is around middle value of them. And the difference between them is little. The $J_IC$ value by AE method was almost agreed with that by SZW, and then proved to be useful. Crack propagation mechanism on fractography is a stable ductile fracture. For the identification of ductile fracture, both fractography analysis and AE method were applied to estimate the characteristics more precisely.

  • The estimation of fracture toughness in inhomogeneous material is still insufficient because it is difficult to get information of fracture initiation at the crack tip. Therefore, martensite-ferrite dual phase steel was prepared for a model material and micro-fracture behavior was investigated in the region of pre-fatigue crack in order to understand the characteristic of fracture resistance in inhomogeneous materials. In the case of severely inhomogeneous state, micro-fracture appearance is not distributed homogenously so that the estimation of fracture toughness is hardly possible. On the other hand when the grain size is refined or the strength of martensite is lowered, micro-fracture appearance is distributed homogenously and fracture toughness remarkably increases.

  • 본 논문은 PV cell의 전기적 등가회로에 대하여 테브난-노턴 분석방법을 통하여 3개의 대표적인 운전점에서 I-V 특성곡선의 접선의 기울기를 $R_s$$R_{sh}$$R_{MPP}$에 관련되는 값으로써 정량적으로 구하는 방법을 제시한다. 이 값들은 PV cell의 전류방정식에서 파생되는 4원 1차 연립방정식의 경계조건은 만족함으로써 전기적 등가회로의 4가지 요소에 대한 값을 구할 수 있는 길이 열린다. 제안된 방법은 제조사가 datasheet에서 특성을 보장하는 초기 PV cell 제품에 대한 I-V 특성뿐만 아니라, 열화가 진행된 PV cell의 실제적인 I-V 특성을 정확히 시뮬레이션 할 수 있다는 장점이 있다.
