  • The wheel radiation noise characteristic of Korean tilting train(Hanvit 200) on curved rail under the field test conditions is analyzed in this paper. The test railroad track was selected from Seodaejon to Songjeongri in Honam line. $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ car are decided to measure radiation noise level among a train of six cars. The test subject curve radius executed from R400, R500, R600, R700 and R800 segments. The speed of test trains when from R600 and R800 curves existing operation speed and speed up 20% of existing speed. On curved rail at the time of operation speed of Hanvit 200 trains from below 95km/h wheel radiation noise level at $94dBA{\sim}99dBA$, the operation speed from between $100km/h{\sim}144km/h$ wheel radiation noise level at $100dBA{\sim}106dBA$.

  • IEEE1394 is an international standard that will integrate entertainment, communication, and computing electronics into consumer multimedia. IEEE1394 is a hardware and software for transporting data at 100,200, or 400Mbps. There are efforts to create speed improvements to 800 and muti-Gigabit speed s. An 980Mhz frequency synthesizer is proposed for high speed transport and designed by a 0.35um CMOS process.

  • The electric motor is essential to drive turbo machinery. In order to overcome the speed limitations of general motors, the inverter is used to perform high speed to tens of rpm. The high speed drives are widely used in many applications such as turbo blower, turbo centrifugal compressors, and pump using air bearing technique. Starting of high speed motor can cause step out, stall, oscillation of motor because the phase inductance is much smaller than that of ordinary motor. This paper studied on the starting characteristic of variable speed centrifugal chiller considering high speed motor characteristics. Finally, the superiority of the inverter is verified by experimental results.

  • A new driving scheme, Address and Display Period Complex Driving for Expanding Gray Scale(ACE), is proposed by mixing Address Display period Separated(ADS) and Address While Display(AWD). In this method scan lines are divided in blocks driving by AWD and scan lines in block progress sequential high speed addressing. ADS driving get accomplished in low gray level for expanding gray scale. Scan time is reduced and the number of subfields is increased by high speed addressing of ACE. That expands the gray scale and decreases the dynamic false contour. Also, that improves contrast by using ramp reset.

  • Speed and torque controls of permanent magnet synchronous motors are usually attained by the application of position and speed sensors. However, speed and position sensors require the additional mounting space, reduce the reliability in harsh environments and increase the cost of a motor. Therefore, many studies have been performed for the elimination of speed and position sensors. This paper investigates an Improved sliding mode observer for the speed sensorless control of a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The proposed control strategy is the sliding mode observer with a variable boundary layer for a low-chattering and fast-reponse control. The proposed algorithm is verified through the simulation and experimentation.

  • In recent years, as the industry has been highly developed and precised, its driving and control system have been changed, what is more, revolutionized. The requirements of these change are more accuracy, more high efficiency, more miniaturized size and more servo functions. Step motor has been adopted for driving servo systems, because of easier controllability, open-loop control, high position accuracy at low speed. In this paper, we deal with developing step motor system, and describe the procedure that contains design, analysis. testing characteristics.

  • Molding conditions can be described as factors that determine the quality of a product obtained from injection molding. Many studies have been performed on the injection molding pressure, injection temperature, packing pressure and other molding conditions related to part quality. However, the most accessible factor among the adjustable molding conditions during actual injection is the injection speed. In this study, we simulated the variation of the physical quantity according to injection speed and performed experiments to understand the effect of injection speed on the actual product. A CAE analysis program (Moldflow) was used to simulate and analyze the results using PC and PBT for two models. In order to compare these results with the experimental results, an actual injection molding was performed for each injection speed, and the correlation between simulation and injection molding, especially for the shrinkage of the molded article, was discussed.

  • In this paper, the fault analysis of the momentum wheel, which is a high-speed rotary machinery of 'Control Moment Gyro' for medium and large satellite, was described. For fault diagnosis, envelope spectrum analysis was performed using Hilbert transformation method and signal demodulation method to find the impact signals periodically generated from amplitude modulated signals. Through this, the fault of the momentum wheel was diagnosed by analyzing whether there was a harmonic component of the rotational frequency and a bearing fault frequency in a specific frequency band with a high peak.

  • High Speed permanent magnet machines are currently being developed for a number of applications including gas turbine power plants, air conditioning systems, machine tools, gas pumps, high performance vacuum pumps, flywheel energy storage systems, aircraft fuel pumps, and so on. Using a high-speed machine eliminates the necessity of the mechanical gearbox and could certainly increase the system efficiency and reduce the total cost. In addition, a high-speed machine has the advantage of small dimension and low weight, i.e. low weight to power and volume to power ratio. This paper presents a review of some important applications (mostly still under development) where high-speed machines arc used, highlighting the advantages of the technology in each case.
