Design: Cross-sectional design, reliability & validity study. Methods: Thirty healthy adults participated in the study. A CSMI dynamometer was used as a standardized measuring device to present the validity of the equipment. It was measured based on the dominant leg. The average peak torque value was selected as the measurement variable. After the measurement, a questionnaire was conducted on safety, satisfaction, and performance through the usability evaluation questionnaire. Results: The knee joint isokinetic rehabilitation equipment showed high reliability with Intraclass Correlations Coefficients (ICC) =0.883~0.956. In order to check the validity of the equipment, the 95% confidence interval of the mean difference limit was confirmed by the Bland & Altman plot. As a result, all three angular velocities showed a smaller confidence interval in the flexion than in extension. There were less than 10 plots that were not included in 2 Standard Deviation (SD) between all measurements. As a result of the usability evaluation questionnaire, the average of the safety domain(4.9±0.4), satisfaction domain(4.1±0.8), performance domain(4.3±0.8). Conclusions: If the product is improved by supplementing the items identified in the usability evaluation process, it is judged that it can be used as a useful device in various knee joint rehabilitation fields.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the attributes of consumers global luxury fashion brands and to find the impact of consumer value, meaning the social and pleasure values derived from brands on product purchase involvement. The method in this study was analysis of a total of 298 responses to a questionnaire. The results indicate, first of all, that among the attribute evaluations of global luxury brands, traditionality and splurge affect purchasing involvement. However, prestige and originality were found to have no influence on purchasing involvement. Second, the responses to the questionnaire indicate that social and pleasure values had a statistically significant effect on purchase of luxury brands. Third, the value of cross-group attributes evaluation and consumption value to differences in purchase involvement has had statistically significant results. In conclusion, the traditional and Splurge natures of the luxury global fashion industry's brand, social consumption value and pleasure consumption value affect the level of purchase involvement. This underscores the importance of attribute Evaluation(traditional and splurge) and consumption value(social and pleasure) when planning consumer marketing strategies for global luxury fashion brands in the future.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between subjective and objective evaluation in speakers with voice disorders. Subjective evaluation indicates the self-reports of voice problems by dysphonic speakers. The relating protocol is the Voice Handicap Index (VHI) and the self-awareness index of voice problems (SAIVP-14). A total of 48 individuals with voice disorders replied to the questionnaire and participated in a voice assessment. Objective evaluations included the perceptual judgement of G grade in GRBAS, acoustic measurements (jitter, shimmer, NHR) by MDVP (CSL 4400), and aerodynamic measurements (MPT, MFR, psub) by PAS (Phonatory Aerodynamic System, KayPentax, USA). Pearson and Spearman correlations were used for the analysis. In the correlation with perceptual judgement (G grade) and VHI-Total, VHI-Physical, and SAIVP-14, there was a significant correlation, but the overall correlation was poor. NHR, jitter, and shimmer were significantly correlated with overall VHI and SAIVP-14. Specifically, the correlation with shimmer was stronger compared to the other measurements. In aerodynamic measures, MFR and MPT showed a significant correlation with VHI-Total, VHI-Emotional, and SAIVP-14, but their correlation was poor. The results of this study suggested that subjective evaluation of self voice problems is meaningfully correlated with objective evaluations, but more data in the multidimensional voice assessment should be collected and analyzed for the reliability and validity of the voice handicap questionnaire.

  • A study was performed to develop as a screening tool, the Simple Evaluation Questionnaire for screening Overweight Dietary Patterns in people in their 20's. We used the data from the 20 to 29 year old subjects who participated in the three surveys: the health behavior survey, the dietary habit survey and the food intake survey - as part of the National Health and Nutrition Survey of 1998. The 1,493 adults were classified into two body fatness groups, that of normal (including the underweight) , and the overweight (including the obese) on the basis of their relative body weight (RBW). When comparing general variables between the two groups, significant differences (11 variables) were found in gender, sadness/depression state, stress level, age, number of diseases, age when overweightedness started, maximum body weight, sleep length, presently a smoker, everyday smoking habits, number of alcoholic drinks in the past month, and the number of alcoholic drinks when dunk, as well as snacking frequency and fatty food consumption. There were significant differences between the two groups in the three variables of daily soup/kuk, pan fried fish/meat/poultry and cooked fish paste/ham/dried squid in terms of cooked food intake, and 11 variables of food size, cooked rice, stews, vegetables and kimchi at breakfast, panfried foods and beverage/teas at lunch, cooked rice and stews (liquid) at dinner, cooked fish paste/ham/dried squid at snacks and cooked fishpaste/ham/dried squid at snack between lunch and dinner. In terms of raw food intake, we observed significant differences (8 variables) in daily food intake and grains, grains/vegetables/fishes (shellfish) at breakfast, meat at lunch and milt at snack after dinner. After developing questions with indicators and analyzing the indicators by logistic regression analysis using 34 variables, including these 33, plus eating-out frequency, we chose 10 questions for the simple evaluation of dietary patterns for the overweight category, in order to give each one point each. Among them we assigned an additional point to one question and two points to another question. The average scores of the overweight and normal groups, as shown by the questionnaire developed, were 5.97 $\pm$ 2.36 and 7.36 $\pm$ 2.21, respectively. A score of seven points was selected as the cut-off point. We examined the sensitivity, specificity and positive predictive value of the questionnaire to the results of 49.3%,75.4% and 68.8%, respectively. The total score categorized as an overweight dietary pattern was 30.2%.

  • The automotive seat comfort evaluation was to begin a key aspect in seat design. It depended largely on the basic mechanical aspect such as geometric parameters of seat, choice of suspension system and cushion material used. Until recently, seat comfort evaluation advanced to evaluate subjective sensitivity of human. The external literatures showed in the last decade, there have been very few attempts to establish and document automotive seat comfort evaluation. In 2006 Smith, D. proposed the statistically reliable tool in giving a numeric rating for set comfort and the tool was used in the many country. On the other hands, we, in Korea, had not the reliable tool for the automotive seat comfort evaluation. So that, we studied to develope the questionnaire for seat comfort evaluation based on Smith, D.(2006) and some studies. As a result, we developed 36 contents for the automotive seat comfort evaluation with the help of professional in Korean automotive industry. Here, 36 contents were identified as the dimensions that represent the human sensitivity and psychological feeling on comfortable seat. Also, we derived the priorities for the 36 contents by using analytic hierarchy process (AHP), based on the judgments of 30 experts and drivers. This study will help the designers and developers clarify the conceptual and abstract aspect of the design evaluation by proposing a more systematic and process-oriented method.

  • The intent of this study is to propose a method for appraisal of the indoor thermal environment of apartment housing by measuring physical factors and residents' response to questionnaire survey. The experiments were performed on eight houses each in summer (August 18 through 31,1995) and winer (february 16 through 20,1996). It included measurements of indoor air temperature, globe temperature, relative humidity, and CO2 concentration. The questionnaire surveys were performed each in summer (July 16 through 20, 1996) and winer (February 13 through 16, 1996). And 248 cases in summer and 297 cases in winter were used in analysis. These questionnaire surveys asked residents' response about thermal sensation, humidity sensation, sense of air freshness regarding the indoor thermal environment. data acquired through the experiments and questionnaire surveys were then transferred to scales that allowed relative comparison, and measured to an appraisal standard chart. Appraisal tools included appraisal charts and radar charts. Indoor thermal environment was judged to be positive according to experiments, but residents appraised the thermal environment to be average. This difference between the two can be found in the strict standards by which residents judge the thermal environment of their apartments.

  • As an activity of one working group for the Good Practice program at Kumamoto University, we proposed a questionnaire survey on the degree in which students understand the uppermost points of importance in their classes in addition to the usual type of class questionnaire. Each class lists three uppermost points of importance which are essential for understanding the class content. The degree of understanding is classified into four levels: full, most, insufficient, and not at all understandings. Through the analysis of questionnaire replies, the degree of understanding for bachelor students in the Department of Engineering was discovered to be meaningfully affected by the degree of difficulty, the effectiveness of audiovisual aids, self-study time, and class attendance.
