  • This study aims to develop a pattern identification system (PIS) for general users to check up their body condition. We collected previous 3 PI questionnaires, with internal consistency reliability or validity of the diagnosis by experts, through a field test. For defining weights of pattern indices, we applied the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method with 11 experts. PIS receive two kinds of symptoms of users : body region based symptoms and core symptoms for PIS. PIS suggest possible patterns and health information on the basis of selected symptoms with analysis by AHP. This study showed PIS could be easily used for general user who wants to access Korean Medicine compared to conventional PI system. Furthermore, it could be utilized with mobile environment or as remote medicine care.

  • Aims: To evaluate breast self examination (BSE) practice and the effect of a training program conducted by healthcare professionals on BSE. Materials and Methods: Women were randomized into control and test groups with both groups completing a questionnaire and three independent interviews where their BSE practices were evaluated. Results: In all, 39.5% of the participants were previously provided information on BSE by healthcare professionals while 25.8% had no knowledge of BSE prior to enrollment. Compared to those informed about BSE through other means such as television, radio, and the internet, the scores of the first, second, and third visits were higher (p<0.05) in individuals who received BSE education from healthcare professionals and hospitals. Conclusions: BSE training provided by healthcare professionals may increase early breast cancer diagnosis and treatment rates by improving BSE awareness and practice.

  • Purpose: Internet addiction is a newly recognized problem in the adolescents. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the educational needs for Internet addiction in middle school students of Korea. Method: The subjects of this study were 450 middle school students. The data were collected from open and structured questionnaire about the educational needs for Internet addiction. Result: As a result of content analysis of educational needs for Internet addiction, 9 domains and 19 themes were categorized from 542 statements. 9 Domains are : Definition, Etiology, Status, Process, Diagnosis, Influence, Coping and Prevention of Internet Addiction and General Information of Internet Use. These results were revealed that middle school students had comprehensive education needs for Internet Addiction. Also, there were the difference of need contents and frequency between school boy and girl students. Most of students had high educational needs for Internet addiction based on school health care program. Conclusion: It would be necessary to develop on Internet addiction prevention program for adolescents concerning these findings. In the future, there should be study to identify the psychological characteristics of adolescent associated with Internet addiction.

  • Objectives : In evaluating a child with enuresis, an organized approach to the history leads to a working diagnosis and an appropriate treatment plan. but, there's no study about history taking in enuretic children. This article was undertaken to evaluate the enuretic child exactly and to study nocturnal enuresis systematically. Methods : It was conducted a computerized literature search in following database: Medline (via Pubmed), NDSL, EBSCO. Korean articles via oriental pediatric association homepage, KISS. Key words to search were 'nocturnal enuresis', 'bedwetting', 'enuresis', 'incontinence', 'management', 'evaluation', 'assessment', 'questionnaire', 'guideline', 'voiding dysfunction'. Results : Questions are grouped in eight categories: primary history(sex, age, height, weight), family history, enuresis history(primary/secondary, frequency, time of enuresis, nocturia), voiding history(average number, frequency, pattern, volume, posture, daytime enuresis), medical history, constipation/encopresis, sleep(OSA). Conclusion : A careful, complete history taking will help to plan treatment properly and to study.

  • In order to point out the best utility of a product (or a service), marketers need to clearly understand and measure the preference of the consumers. Among numerous marketing analysis techniques, the conjoint analysis is one of the popular tools for market research. One of the issues with this tool is the lack of feedback for the respondents. This paper proposes personal stepwise conjoint analysis based on an interactive Web-questionnaire allowing respondents to receive a diagnosis of their evaluation and giving the possibility to reconsider their evaluation. To validate our proposal, experimentation with forty-two respondents is also demonstrated. Experimental results, potential modifications and improvements are detailed in this paper.

  • This paper devises a model to diagnose physical fatigue using speech features. This paper presents a machine learning method through an SVM algorithm using the various feature parameters. The parameters used include the significant speech parameters, questionnaire responses, and bio-signal parameters obtained before and after the experiment imposing the fatigue. The results showed that performance rates of 95%, 100%, and 90%, respectively, were observed from the proposed model using three types of the parameters relevant to the fatigue. These results suggest that the method proposed in this study can be used as the physical fatigue diagnostic model, and that fatigue can be easily diagnosed by speech technology.

  • An organizational performance measurement practice is a function of performance measurement system and performance management system they are currently employing, and its quality is determined by evaluating the followings in a comprehensive manner: first, if they are measuring right things; second, if they are measuring in a right way; third, if they are actively facilitating a process of data collection, structuring, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination; and fourth, if they are using performance measurement results for the primary purposes of performance measurement. This study proposes a diagnostic framework for evaluating the performance measurement practices of public broadcasting which include the qualities of performance measurement and performance management, and develop a structured questionnaire for that purpose. The framework proposed in this study does not serve only as a useful tool for public broadcasting to revise their respective performance measures and performance measurement systems, but it also make their respective performance measurement practices a strategic management tool as well as an operational management one.

  • Although various methods have been tried to measure the safety culture of firms, they are limited to derive the qualitative analysis results according to the subjective criteria that are not formalized according to the evaluation method. We developed a questionnaire that can be applied to a combined power plant, quantified the evaluation results using the system dynamics model based on the results, and conducted simulation through various scenarios. And to present the criteria for safety cultural policy.
