The actual utilization of Semantic Web technology which aims to provide more intelligent and automated service for information retrieval over the Web becomes gradually reality. RDF is widely used as the one of standard formats to present and manage the voluminous data on the Web. Efficient query processing on RDF data, therefore, is one of the ongoing research topics. Retrieving resources having a specific association from a given resource is the typical query processing type and several researches for this have done. However the most of previous researches have not fully considered discovering the complex relationship among resources such as returning the association between resources as the query processing result. This paper introduces the indexing and query processing for ${\rho}$-intersect operation which is one of the semantic association retrieval types. It includes an indexing scheme using suffix array and optimal processing approaches for handling ${\rho}$-intersect operation. The experimental evaluations shows that the average execution times for the proposed approach is 3~7 times faster than the previous approach.

Recently, the demand for a QA (Question Answering) system for human-machine communication has increased. Among the QA systems, a closed domain QA system that can handle spatial-related questions is called GeoQA. In this study, a new type of graph database, LPG (Labeled Property Graph) was used to overcome the limitations of the RDF (Resource Description Framework) based database, which was mainly used in the GeoQA field. In addition, GraphQL (Graph Query Language), an API-type query language, is introduced to address the fact that the LPG query language is not standardized and the GeoQA system may depend on specific products. In this study, database was built so that answers could be retrieved when spatial-related questions were entered. Each data was obtained from the national spatial information portal and local data open service. The spatial relationships between each spatial objects were calculated in advance and stored in edge form. The user's questions were first converted to GraphQL through FOL (First Order Logic) format and delivered to the database through the GraphQL server. The LPG used in the experiment is Neo4j, the graph database that currently has the highest market share, and some of the built-in functions and QGIS were used for spatial calculations. As a result of building the system, it was confirmed that the user's question could be transformed, processed through the Apollo GraphQL server, and an appropriate answer could be obtained from the database.

LAI(Library Assited Instruction) distinguished from classroom instruction viewpoint of use of school libraries's material and collaborative with teacher librarian. Thus LAI must be emphasized student's information activities and teacher librarian's support activities. This study is supposed to LAI model (information presentation-guide type, information search-organization type. information analysis Interpretation type, information synthesis-representation type, information query-projects type, information query-discussion type) based on student's information activities. The student's information activities were derived from the model of information use process. The Model of proposed LAI is constructed the role of classroom teacher, teacher librarian, student and the process of LAI process.

This paper introduces efficient rule-based semantic search techniques to ontology-based knowledge commerce services. Primarily, the search techniques presented in this paper define rules of reasoning that are required for users to search using the concept of ontology, multiple characteristics, relations among concepts and data type. In addition, based on the defined rules, the rule-based reasoning techniques search ontology for knowledge commerce services. This paper explains the conversion rules of query which convert user's query language into semantic search words, and transitivity rules which enable users to search related tags, knowledge products and users. Rule-based sematic search techniques are also presented; these techniques comprise knowledge search modules that search ontology using validity examination of queries, query conversion modules for standardization and expansion of search words and rule-based reasoning. The techniques described in this paper can be applied to sematic knowledge search systems using tags, since transitivity reasoning, which uses tags, knowledge products, and relations among people, is possible. In addition, as related users can be searched using related tags, the techniques can also be employed to establish collaboration models or semantic communities.
A moving object has a special feature that it's spatial location, shape and size are changed as time goes. These changes of the object accompany the continuous movement that is called the trajectory. In this paper, we propose an index structure that users can retrieve the trajectory of a moving object with the access of a page. We also propose the multi-complex query that is a new query type for trajectory retrieval. In order to prove the excellence of our method, we compare and analyze the performance for query time and storage space through experiments in various environments. It is shown that our method outperforms the existing index structures when processing spatio-temporal trajectory queries on moving objects.
Genes that are indispensable for survival are referred to as essential gene. Due to the momentous significance of these genes for cellular activity they can be selected potentially as drug targets. Here in this study, an essential gene for Streptococcus suis was predicted using coherent statistical analysis and powerful genome comparison computational method. At first the whole genome protein scatter plot was generated and subsequently, on the basis of statistical significance, a reference genome was chosen. The parameters set forth for selecting the reference genome was that the genome of the query (Streptococcus suis) and subject must fall in the same genus and yet they must vary to a good degree. Streptococcus pneumoniae was found to be suitable as the reference genome. A whole genome comparison was performed for the reference (Streptococcus pneumoniae) and the query genome (Streptococcus suis) and 14 conserved proteins from them were subjected to a screen for potential essential gene property. Among those 14 only one essential gene was found to be with impressive similarity score between reference and query. The essential gene encodes for a type of 'Clp protease'. Clp proteases play major roles in degrading misfolded proteins. Results found here should help formulating a drug against Strptococcus suis which is responsible for mild to severe clinical conditions in human. However, like many other computational studies, the study has to be validated furthermore through in vitro assays for concrete proof.
The basic research of context aware in ubiquitous environment is an internet technique and XML. The XML data of continuous stream type are popular in network application through the internet. And also there are researches related to query processing for streaming XML data. As a basic research to efficiently query, we propose not only a labeled ordered tree model representing the XML but also a mining method to extract frequent structures from streaming XML data. That is, XML data to continuously be input are modeled by a stream tree which is called by XFP_tree and we exactly extract the frequent structures from the XFP_tree of current window to mine recent data. The proposed method can be applied to the basis of the query processing and index method for XML stream data.
In developing question-answering (QA) systems, it is hard to analyze natural language questions syntactically and semantically and to find exact answers to given query questions. In order to avoid these difficulties, we propose a new style of question-answering system that automatically generate natural language queries and can allow to search queries fit for given keywords. The key idea behind generating natural queries is that after significant sentences within text documents are applied to the named entity recognition technique, we can generate a natural query (interrogative sentence) for each named entity (such as person, location, and time). The natural query is divided into two types: simple type and sentence structure type. With the large database of question-answer pairs, the system can easily obtain natural queries and their corresponding answers for given keywords. The most important issue is how to generate meaningful queries which can present unambiguous answers. To this end, we propose two principles to decide which declarative sentences can be the sources of natural queries and a pattern-based method for generating meaningful queries from the selected sentences.
The main idea of this paper is to combine position information in sentence and query type classification to make the documents ranking to query more accessible. First, the use of conceptual graphs for the representation of document contents In information retrieval is discussed. The method is based on well-known strategies of text comparison, such as Dice Coefficient, with position-based weighted term. Second, we introduce a method for learning query type classification that improves the ability to retrieve answers to questions from Question Answering system. Proposed methods employ naive bayes classification in machine learning fields. And, we used a collection of approximately 30,000 question-answer pairs for training, obtained from Frequently Asked Question(FAQ) files on various subjects. The evaluation on a set of queries from international TREC-9 question answering track shows that the method with machine learning outperforms the underline other systems in TREC-9 (0.29 for mean reciprocal rank and 55.1% for precision).

Wireless sensor networks need middleware system for efficiently managing the constrained resource and sensing data because they need different sensing data type and protocol to communicate with heterogeneous sensor networks. Thus this paper proposes data-centric sensor middleware for heterogeneous sensor networks. The proposed middleware have to support various query processing of user applications, high-level request of users, manage heterogeneous sensor systems and universal sensing data type for node and user application.
