필라멘트 와인딩 공법 GFRP 원형 튜브의 에너지 흡수특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the energy absorption characteristics of GFRP circular tubes fabricated by the filament winding method)

  • 본 논문에서는 복합재 원형튜브의 에너지 흡수 특성을 평가하기 위해 준정적 압괴실험을 시행하였다. 사용된 시편은 필라멘트 와인딩 공법으로 제작된 GFRP(유리섬유/에폭시수지) 원형 튜브이다. 복합재 튜브의 에너지 흡수 특성 분석을 위한 파라미터로서 튜브의 트리거메커니즘, t/D, 섬유배향각 등을 고려하여 그 특성을 비교하였다. 튜브의 형상 측면에서 튜브 직경이 커짐에 따라 delamination에 의한 국부좌굴 발생빈도가 증가하게 되어 불안정한 압괴모드가 발생하는데 이러한 현상은 섬유 배향각을 조정하여 안정적인 압괴모드를 도출할 수 있었다.

Effect of reinforcing details on seismic behavior of RC exterior wide beam-column joint

  • This paper presents experimental and numerical studies of seismic performance on reinforced concrete (RC) wide beam (WB) joints. Two RC-WB joint specimens and one conventional RC joint specimen were fabricated using the reinforcing details of longitudinal reinforcing bars in a beam as a variable, and quasi-static cyclic loading tests were performed. The results were used to compare and analyze the load-drift ratio relationship, failure mode, and seismic performance of the specimens quantitatively. In addition, a finite element (FE) analysis of the RC-WB joint was conducted, and the rationality of the FE model was validated by comparing it with the test results. Based on the FE model, a parametric study was conducted, where the ratio of longitudinal reinforcing bars placed on the outer and inner parts of the joint (𝜌ex/𝜌in) was a key variable. The results showed that, in the RC-WB joint, an increase of 𝜌ex/𝜌in leads to more severe damage to concrete, which reduces the seismic performance of the RC-WB joints.

Numerical simulation of unsteady galloping of two-dimensional iced transmission line with comparison to conventional quasi-steady analysis

  • Most of the previous works on numerical analysis of galloping of transmission lines are generally based on the quasisteady theory. However, some wind tunnel tests of the rectangular section or hangers of suspension bridges have shown that the galloping phenomenon has a strong unsteady characteristic and the test results are quite different from the quasi-steady calculation results. Therefore, it is necessary to check the applicability of the quasi-static theory in galloping analysis of the ice-covered transmission line. Although some limited unsteady simulation researches have been conducted on the variation of parameters such as aerodynamic damping, aerodynamic coefficients with wind speed or wind attack angle, there is a need to investigate the numerical simulation of unsteady galloping of two-dimensional iced transmission line with comparison to wind tunnel test results. In this paper, it is proposed to conduct a two dimensional (2-D) unsteady numerical analysis of ice-covered transmission line galloping. First, wind tunnel tests of a typical crescent-shapes iced conductor are conducted firstly to check the subsequent quasisteady and unsteady numerical analysis results. Then, a numerical simulation model consistent with the aeroelastic model in the wind tunnel test is established. The weak coupling methodology is used to consider the fluid-structure interaction in investigating a two-dimension numerical simulation of unsteady galloping of the iced conductor. First, the flow field is simulated to obtain the pressure and velocity distribution of the flow field. The fluid action on the iced conduct at the coupling interface is treated as an external load to the conductor. Then, the movement of the conduct is analyzed separately. The software ANSYS FLUENT is employed and redeveloped to numerically analyze the model responses based on fluid-structure interaction theory. The numerical simulation results of unsteady galloping of the iced conduct are compared with the measured responses of wind tunnel tests and the numerical results by the conventional quasi-steady theory, respectively.

Experimental study on seismic performance of reinforced concrete frames retrofitted with eccentric buckling-restrained braces (BRBs)

  • As a new type of energy dissipation component with excellent mechanical performance, the Buckling-Retrained Braces (BRBs) were gradually applied in retrofitting and improving seismic performance of reinforced concrete structures in China. In order to investigate the seismic performance of reinforced concrete structures retrofitted with BRBs, quasi-static test of two single-bay and 3-story reinforced concrete frames specimens was conducted and introduced in this paper. Two 1/2 scaled specimens were designed to reflect real prototype structure. For comparison, one control specimen was designed without BRBs, and the other specimen was retrofitted with BRBs. And particularly, for the specimen retrofitted with BRBs, the BRBs were eccentric layout instead of usually concentric or x-shaped layout, aiming to be more suitable for large-span frames. In the test, the failure mode, carrying capacity, deformability, ductility and energy dissipation ability of both two specimens were investigated. Based on the test results of the measured hysterical curves, skeleton curves, the seismic performances such as bearing capacity, plastic deformability, energy dissipation ability and ductility of two specimens were fully studied. And from the test results, it was indicated that the specimen retrofitted with BRBs showed much better seismic performance than the control specimen without BRBs, and the BRBs could effectively improve the seismic performance of the reinforced concrete frame. For the specimen retrofitted with BRBs, the BRBs firstly yielded before the beam-ends and the column-ends, and an expected yielding process or yielding mechanism as well as good seismic performance was obtained. For the specimens without BRBs, though the beam-ends yielded prior to the column-ends, the seismic performance was much poor than that of the specimen with BRBs.

고장력 강판(SPFC590)의 레이저 용접부 피로거동 평가 (Evaluation of Fatigue Behavior for Laser Welded High Strength Steel Sheets (SPFC590))

  • Deep and narrow welds can be produced by laser welding at high welding speeds with a narrow heat-affected zone (HAZ) and little distortion of the workpiece. This study aims to evaluate the usefulness of laser welding at automobile component manufacture. Microstructure observation, hardness test, tensile test and fatigue life test are performed by using the fiber laser welded SPFC590 steel sheets which is used widely in the manufacture of automotive seat frame. Three kinds of specimens are only a SPFC590 steel plate, quasi-butt joint plate and lap joint plate by laser welding. The following results that will be helpful to understand the static strength, fatigue crack initiation and growth mechanism were obtained. (1) The tensile strength of quasi butt joint specimens nearly equal to base metal specimens, but lap joint specimens fractured in shear area of weld metal. (2) The fatigue strength of quasi-butt joint specimen was approximately 8 percent lower than that of the base metal specimens. Furthermore, the lap joint specimens were less than 86 percent of the base metal specimens. (3) The lap joint fatigue specimens fractured at shear area in high level stress amplitude, while fractured at normal area in low level stress amplitude. From these results, the applicability of the laser welding to the automobile component is discussed.

선박충돌 시 돌핀 구조물의 거동에 대한 원심모형실험 (Centrifugal Test on Behavior of the Dolphin Structure under Ship Collision)

  • 충돌보호공은 해저지반에 깊게 근입되어 있으며 돌핀을 의미하는 상부는 단단한 콘트리트 뚜껑으로 막혀지고 쇄석으로 채워진 원형의 속채움 시트파일의 배열로 구성된다. 본 연구에서는 돌핀의 거동을 규명하기 위해 총 7회의 준정적실험과 11회의 동적 원심모형실험을 수행하였다. 주요한 실험적 결과는 다음과 같다. 우선, 준정적실험의 실험적인 힘-변위 결과는 채움재 강성과 관련된 채움 밀도의 변화로부터 구조물의 초기 강성에 대한 영향을 보여준다. 그리고 동일한 변위에서의 에너지 소산을 비교해보면 더 조밀한 채움에서 직경 20m 돌핀은 16%, 직경 30m 돌핀은 23% 정도 소산율이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 30m 직경의 돌핀이 더 큰 민감도를 갖는 것은 채움재의 변형률이 에너지소산에 대해 보다 크게 기여하기 때문이다. 동 정적 충돌실험결과, 일반적으로 동적 응답이 준정적 응답보다 26~58%까지 크고 더 작은 변위에서 에너지 소산이 발생되고 있음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 돌핀 구조물의 거동예측 시 준정적 응답특성을 사용하는 것이 보수적이라는 것을 알 수 있으며, 하부충돌 시 돌핀 저항력은 상부충돌 시와 동일하거나 더 우세한 것으로 나타났다.

Equivalent static wind load estimation in wind-resistant design of single-layer reticulated shells

  • Wind loading is very important, even dominant in some cases, to large-span single-layer reticulated shells. At present, usually equivalent static methods based on quasi-steady assumption, as the same as the wind-resistant design of low-rise buildings, are used in the structural design. However, it is not easy to estimate a suitable equivalent static wind load so that the effects of fluctuating component of wind on the structural behaviors, especially on structural stability, can be well considered. In this paper, the effects of fluctuating component of wind load on the stability of a single-layer reticulated spherical shell model are investigated based on wind pressure distribution measured simultaneously in the wind tunnel. Several methods used to estimate the equivalent static wind load distribution for equivalent static wind-resistant design are reviewed. A new simple method from the stability point of view is presented to estimate the most unfavorable wind load distribution considering the effects of fluctuating component on the stability of shells. Finally, with comparisive analyses using different methods, the efficiency of the presented method for wind-resistant analysis of single-layer reticulated shells is established.

주철근 겹침이음된 실물 비내진 원형 교각의 내진성능평가 (Seismic Performance Evaluation of Full-size Non-seismic Circular RC Bridge Piers with Longitudinal Steel Lap splice)

  • 내진설계편이 제정된 1992년 이전의 설계규정에 따라 설계$\cdot$시공된 교량은 내진상세가 적용되지 않아 지진에 취약할 것으로 예상된다. 특히, 주철근의 겹침이음은 교각의 상당한 내진성능저하를 야기하는 것으로 보고되고있다. 하지만, 이들 교량에 대한 내진성능평가 및 내진보강에 관한 연구는 아직 체계적으로 이루어지지 않고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 이에 대한 대책마련이 시급한 것으로 사료된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 비내진 교각의 내진성능을 평가하고자 형상비 4.0인 실물크기의 철근콘크리트 교각시험체를 제작하여 준정적실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과를 통하여 주철근 겹침이음된 비내진교각은 띠철근 형태와 상관없이 현행 도로교설계기준의 요구성능을 만족하지 못하는 것으로 조사되어 시급히 보강을 하여야 할 것으로 판단된다. 또한 주철근 겹침이음에 대한 내진규정의 보완이 요구된다.

  • Axial crushing behavior of cylindrical shell Is utilized in the braking of the high-velocity impacting object. In this paper, truncated cone shape brake device is introduced. That is, thickness of the shell is increased gradually from the impacting end to the other end. A detailed experimental investigation on the quasi-static axial crushing behavior of truncated cone type brake devices has been performed. Specimens of various shape were tested to check the influence of design parameters such as length, radius, mean thickness, and conical angle of cylinder. Influence of the material properties were also investigated by adopting aluminum, low carbon steel, and stainless steel as constructing materials. By analyzing deformation procedures of the specimens, it is seen that conical angle influence the deformation mode and the sequence of the wrinkles generation. Braking distance and mean braking force of each specimen were predicted based on the crushing load measured from the tests.

중공원형 철근콘크리트 교각의 횡방향철근에 따른 내진성능평가 (Seismic Performance Assessment of Hollow Circular Reinforced Concrete Bridge Columns with Confinement Steel)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 중공원형 철근콘크리트 교각의 횡방향철근에 따른 지진거동을 파악하고 합리적이면서 경제적인 내진 설계기준의 개발을 위한 자료를 제공하는데 있다. 3개의 중공원형 교각 실험체에 일정 축하중 하에서 횡방향 반복하중을 가하는 준정적 실험을 수행하였다. 정확하고 올바른 성능평가를 위하여 신뢰성 있는 비선형 유한요소해석 프로그램을 사용하였다. 이용된 해석기법은 조사된 실험체에 대하여 하중단계에 따라 내진성능을 비교적 정확하게 예측하였다. 실험적, 해석적 결과로부터 중공원형 철근콘크리트 교각의 설계와 시공 실무를 향상하기 위한 내진상세를 제시하였다.
