  • This study aims to analyze the content and methodological aspects of converging scientific technology and humanities in 233 elementary school STEAM programs developed and publicized from 2012 to 2015, to provide the basic materials and implications for editing and supplementing the development of future STEAM programs or policies, or on-site applications of developed programs. The analysis results show that among the Liberal Arts courses of the STEAM program, including Korean, Social Studies, and Ethics, the level of convergence was lowest in Ethics. This seems to be due to the fact that convergence between scientific technology and humanities tended to emphasize a cross-studies convergence over a content convergence done with a specific purpose. In terms of methodological convergence between scientific technology and humanities, the level of convergence of humanities at a normative level was relatively lower than that at a descriptive level. Although a quantitative comparison of the two methods was not significant, it is rather concerning that due to simply converging descriptive humanities, students may not be so aware of the double-sidedness of scientific technology, despite the discovery of some programs that need re-evaluations of their ethical or normative directions. Moreover, the results showed that the cases of converging scientific technology and humanities at a normative level that were analyzed in the STEAM program can be divided into 'complementation of humanities to utilizing scientific technology' and 'complementation of humanities to research in scientific technology and development.' Based on such research results, the study discusses the development of STEAM programs and policies and directions for editing and supplementing programs on-site.

  • In this study, we examined the satisfaction level of J university's compulsory liberal arts subject with quantitative research. The results quantitative research are as follows. First, men are more interested in creative thinking, college life guidance and career path design than girls. Second, the level of satisfaction with the required liberal arts subject by grade was found to be without a statistical significant difference. Third, the satisfaction level of each line of learning was shown in the order of natural engineering, health and welfare, physical fitness, and humanities. The satisfaction level of the lines of learning was found to vary. Fourth, The satisfaction level of each campus was found to vary. The results of this study could be used as basic data to improve the college liberal arts curriculum, especially the compulsory liberal arts curriculum. The results of this study could be used as basic data to improve the college liberal arts curriculum, especially the compulsory liberal arts curriculum.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out quantitative vulnerability assessment about COTS(Commercial Off The Shelf) O/S based I&C System. This paper analyzed vulnerability's lifecycle and it's impact. this paper is to develop a quantitative assessment of overall cyber security risks and vulnerabilities I&C System by studying the vulnerability analysis and prediction method. The probabilistic vulnerability assessment method proposed in this study suggests a modeling method that enables setting priority of patches, threshold setting of vulnerable size, and attack path in a commercial OS-based measurement control system that is difficult to patch an immediate vulnerability.

  • Recently, the technological development in the Internet of Things(IoT) field has grown rapidly worldwide and China is also expected to show a noticeable growth trend in this field. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyze the recent trend of Chinese patents in the IoT field. China has been very active between 2010 and 2014, surpassing USA, and the this trend will accelerate in the future. The results of the analysis are as follows. First, the number of IoT-related patents in China increased rapidly from 2010 to 2014. Second, the major actors that led this quantitative increase are firms including ZTE and higher education institutes such as Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Lastly, major technological fields and the convergence networks amongst those fields were analyzed. As a result, it was found that the patenting activity in H04L was the most active and this field has led the convergence among other technological fields.

  • This study aims to investigate the convergence over effects of adolescent's maladaptive perfectionism and their experience of school bulling victim on suicidal ideation, and the meditating effect of parents-children communication among variables by utilizing the path analysis. Quantitative survey research was conducted with 1,395 students attending primary, middle and high school to identify the following the key results. First, adolescent's maladaptive perfectionism influenced positively their suicidal ideation but bullying victim not influenced their suicidal ideation. Second, adolescent's maladaptive perfectionism directly influenced suicidal ideation and its' effect was indirectly mediated by the subjects's parents-children communication. Third, the relationship between the experience of school bullying victim directly influenced suicidal ideation and its' effect was full mediated by the subjects's parents-children communication. In other words, Parents-children communication works to enhance their ability of dealing with difficulty which reduces suicidal ideation.

  • Pump-cap is a device for discharging the contents stored inside a container to the outside of the container by a simple operation by a certain amount. In particular, in recent years, as the number of cosmetic products made of functional materials has rapidly increased, the development of convenient containers for functional materials is being actively conducted. Among these, there are a growing number of products that show their efficacy only by mixing two components, so the development of a dual pump cap container is necessary. However, the conventional dual pump cap container has a problem in that it is difficult to implement a quantitative discharge as solutions having different viscosities are used. Therefore, in this study, a discharge port of a dual pump cap that can apply an optimal ratio was designed by analyzing the discharge amount of two components with different viscosities through computational fluid dynamics. Since the discharge amount is affected by the size of the discharge port, the higher the viscosity of the solution, the larger the discharge port should be set. Conversely, the lower the viscosity, the smaller the discharge port should be. Through this, it is possible to dispense a fixed amount of a heterogeneous solution by one pumping, and it is determined that the user's convenience will increase.

  • There are various exhibition halls, shopping malls, theme parks around us and analysis of interest in exhibits or contents is mainly done through questionnaires. These questionnaires are mainly depend on the subjective memory of the person being investigated, resulting in incorrect statistical results. Therefore, it is possible to identify an exhibition space with low interest by tracking the movement and counting the number of visitors. Based on this, it can be used as quantitative data for exhibits that need replacement. In this paper, we use deep learning-based artificial intelligence algorithms to recognize visitors, assign IDs to the recognized visitors, and continuously track them to identify the movement path. When visitors pass the counting line, the system is designed to count the number and transmit data to the server for integrated management.

  • We investigated algorithm to detect and characterize interstitial lung abnormalities seen at chest radiographs. This method includes a process of 4 directional Laplaction-Gaussian filtering, and a process of linear opacity judgment. Two regions of interest (ROIs) were selected in each right lung of patients, and these ROIs were processed by our computer-analyzing system. For quantitative analysis of interstitial opacities, the radiographic index, which is the percentage of opacity areas in a ROI, was obtained and evaluated in the images. From or result, abnormal lungs were well differentiated from normal lungs. In our algorithm, the processing results were not only given as the numeric data named "radiographic index" but also confirmed with radiologists observation on CRT. The approach, by which the interstitial abnormalities themselves are extracted, is good enough because the results can be confirmed by the observations of radiologists. In conclusion, our system is useful for the detection and characterization of interstitial lung abnormalities.

  • We propose a method for detecting DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) traffic in real-time inside the backbone network. For this purpose, we borrow the concepts of MACD (Moving Average Convergence Divergence) and RoC (Rate of Change), which are used for technical analysis in the stock market Due to the fact that the method is based on a quantitative, rather than a heuristic, detection level, DDoS traffic can be detected with greater accuracy (by reducing the false alarm ratio). Through simulation results, we show how the detection level is determined and demonstrate how much the accuracy of detection is enhanced.
