경혈 및 경락 안마자극 프로그램이 적용된 안마의자 사용이 수면의 질에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Using Massage Chair with Acupoint and Meridian Massage Program on Sleep Disorder)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the massage program stimulating the acupuncture points and meridians on the improvement of sleep quality. Methods: 16 subjects suffering from sleep disorders were recruited and the massage program was conducted 3 times a week for a month. VAS (Visual Analog Scale) and KPSQI (Korean Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index) were collected through questionnaires, and salivary cortisol concentration test and HRV (Heart Rate Variability) were also used to evaluate the effect. The collected data were analyzed by independent statisticians. Results: VAS and KPSQI values decreased significantly after 4 weeks of massage chair application. There was no significant difference in salivary cortisol concentration and HRV test results. In the group with normal HRV test results and salivary cortisol concentration, the change of VAS and KPSQI values was not significant, while the group with abnormal range showed a statistically significant decrease. Conclusions: The massage chair program stimulating meridians according to Korean medicine theory was effective in improving sleep quality. Massage of acupoints and meridians through a massage chair is expected to be useful as an adjunctive therapy in addition to standard Korean medicine therapy.

동충하초 분말과 식빵의 품질변화 (Quality of White Pan Breads of Cordyceps Powder)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the quality of white pan breads as affected by various concentration of Cordyceps powder. Breads were prepared by addition of 0, 1, 2 and 3% of Cordyceps to flour of basic formulation. The moisture content of white pan breads decreased with increasing Cordyceps powder concentration. The pH of white pan breads also decreased with increasing Cordyceps powder concentration. In color values, with increase of Cordyceps powder concentration, L value decreased and a value increased in the crumb. The weights of breads cooled decreased with increasing Cordyceps powder concentration. The volume and height of dough decreased with increasing Cordyceps powder concentration. However, the specific volume and yield of dough were not significantly different among groups. The baking loss rate was higher in the breads with Cordyceps powder than in the control. In the texture characteristics, hardness and chewiness of breads significantly increased with increasing Cordyceps powder concentration and adhesiveness increased. In the sensory evaluation, when compared to the control, the breads added to 1% of Cordyceps powder was superior to in color and flavor, while was similar to texture and taste.

Comparison of New Infant Chest Compression Methods: Simulation Study on Randomization Using Manikin

  • In this paper, we propose a the effects of new chest compressions in the implementation of chest compressions during infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and to provide basic data for high-quality CPR. On March 12, 2019, the research target used the SPSS 22.0 Version as an experimental study using randomized cross-design of 30 emergency medical services students who completed BLS Health Care-provider. The study also showed significant differences in chest depth and average rate of pressure($34.61{\pm}1.29$, $39.40{\pm}1.08$, <0.001, $105.46{\pm}4.23$, $107{\pm}3.84$, <0.001) depending on chest compressions. There was also a significant difference in the convenience and degree of pain of chest compressions(<0.001). In addition, new chest compressions appeared close to vertical and showed statistically significant differences(p<.001). Based on the results of this study, we can see that the accuracy of the new chest compressions during infant cardiopulmonary resuscitation is increased, and the depth of chest compressions is improved, improving the quality index of chest compressions. However, it will be necessary to further study the use of the new chest compressions to identify the potential for clinical use.

Effectiveness of Electroacupuncture in Patients with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis

  • This review evaluated the efficacy of electroacupuncture (EA) for chronic fatigue syndrome. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using EA as an intervention for patients with chronic fatigue syndrome were identified in 6 databases (PUBMED, EMBASE, CNKI, J-STAGE, KMBASE, OASIS). Fatigue indicators were used as the primary outcome measures. The quality-of-life index, efficiency rate, and level of pain were used as secondary outcome measures. There were 408 patients from seven RCTs included in this study. Meta-analysis showed that EA was significantly associated with fatigue relief compared with the control group (n = 141 SMD = -1.55, 95% CI; -2.58 - -0.52, p = 0.003, I2 = 92%). In addition, EA had a statistically significant improvement in quality of life compared with the control group (n = 176, SMD = -2.29, 95% CI; -3.68 - -0.90, p = 0.001, I2 = 96%). One study reported ten cases of bleeding, however, no serious adverse events were reported in any of the included studies. This review determined that EA may have a greater clinical effect than the control group for fatigue relief and improved quality of life. However, there were several risks of bias identified. Not all of the RCTs accurately reported the research method, all studies were conducted in 1 country (China), and the number of studies included were small.

열매마(Dioscorea bulbifera) 분말을 첨가한 스펀지케이크의 품질특성 (Quality Characteristics of Sponge Cakes made with Air Potato (Dioscorea bulbifera) Powder)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the possibility of using air potato (Dioscorea bulbifera) powder to make sponge cakes. The sponge cake batter was made by adding 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40% of air potato powder, and the resultant anti-oxidative properties and quality characteristics were analyzed. The study showed that the height, batter yield, and loss rate of sponge cakes decreased as increasing amounts of air potato powder were added, but the weight, viscosity, moisture content, and specific gravity increased. An evaluation of the color showed that the L and b values were highest in the control group but the a value was highest in the 40% group. There was no significant difference between samples in terms of cohesiveness, although the study showed a significant increase in the hardness, chewiness, and gumminess as the quantity of air potato powder in the sponge cakes increased. The total polyphenol content and DPPH radical scavenging activity increased noticeably as more air potato powder was added to the sponge cakes. The results thus showed that the study groups with the addition of air potato powder showed higher antioxidant activity than the control group.

Stochastics and Artificial Intelligence-based Analytics of Wastewater Plant Operation

  • Tele-metering systems have been useful tools for managing domestic wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) over the last decade. They mostly generate water quality data for discharged water to ensure that it complies with mandatory regulations and they may be able to produce every operation parameter and additional measurements in the near future. A sub-big data group, comprised of about 150,000 data points from four domestic WWTPs, was ready to be classified and also analyzed to optimize the WWTP process. We used the Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) 25 package in order to statistically treat the data with linear regression and correlation analysis. The major independent variables for analysis were water temperature, sludge recycle rate, electricity used, and water quality of the influent while the dependent variables representing the water quality of the effluent included the total nitrogen, which is the most emphasized index for discharged flow in plants. The water temperature and consumed electricity showed a strong correlation with the total nitrogen but the other indices' mutual correlations with other variables were found to be fuzzy due to the large errors involved. In addition, a multilayer perceptron analysis method was applied to TMS data along with root mean square error (RMSE) analysis. This study showed that the RMSE in the SS, T-N, and TOC predictions were in the range of 10% to 20%.

Effects of storage temperature on quality characteristics of texturized vegetable protein

  • This study evaluated the impact of storage temperature on the quality characteristics of texturized vegetable protein (TVP). TVP was prepared by mixing defatted Daewon soybean flour at 80℃, gluten, and corn starch in a 5:3:2 ratio, which was then extruded at a screw speed of 250 rpm and a barrel temperature of 190℃ with moisture addition at 9 rpm. Subsequently, the extruded TVP was vacuum-sealed in polyethylene packaging and stored at -20℃, 0℃, and 4℃ for 9 days. Texture analysis revealed that the curing rate followed 4℃ > 0℃ > -20℃ sequence. No significant color variation was observed across the storage conditions, although water content increased at all temperatures. Notable changes were detected in moisture absorption capacity (%) and solid leaching (%), following the order of -20℃ > 0℃ > 4℃. The turbidity of the solution released during cooking varied, with the highest to the lowest sequence being -20℃ > 4℃ > 0℃, while pH levels remained neutral. Regarding free amino acids, sweetness and textural quality improved with storage across all temperatures, whereas bitterness components diminished at 4℃. The study suggests that refrigerated storage at 4℃ is a viable method for distributing TVP, which was previously distributed only in a frozen and dry state.

모수, 비모수, 베이지안 출산율 모형을 활용한 합계출산율 예측과 비교 (A comparison and prediction of total fertility rate using parametric, non-parametric, and Bayesian model)

  • 최근 2017년 우리나라 합계출산율은 1.05명로 2005년 1.08명 수준으로 회귀하는 현상을 보이고 있다. 1.05명은 인구대체선(2.1명), 안전선(1.5명)과도 거리가 먼 초저출산 수준이고 마치 초저출산 덫에 빠질 우려가 있다. 이에 합계출산율의 합리적인 예측과 이를 통한 출산정책에 유용한 자료를 제공하는 것은 그 어느 때 보다도 중요하다. 그 동안 다양한 통계적 방법으로 합계출산율 추이를 예측하였는데, 데이터 완비성이 높고 품질이 좋은 경우 모형 접근인 모수적 방법, 데이터 추이가 단절되거나 변동이 심한 경우 평활과 가중치를 적용한 비모수적 방법, 데이터 부족과 품질 등으로 선진국의 출산율 3단계 전이현상을 참고하여 이들의 사전분포를 활용하는 베이지안 방법 등이 적용되어 왔다. 본 연구는 최근 변동이 심한 우리나라 출산율에 모수, 비모수, 그리고 베이지안 방법을 적용하여 추정과 예측을 실시하고 도출된 결과 비교를 통해 적합성과 타당성 측면에서 어떤 방법이 합리적인지 모색하고자 한다. 분석결과 합계출산율 예측값 순위는 통계청 합계출산율이 가장 높고, 베이지안, 모수, 비모수 순으로 나타났다. 2017년 TFR 1.05명 수준을 감안할 때 모수, 비모수모형으로 도출된 합계출산율 예측값이 합리적이다. 또한 출산율 자료완비성이 높고 품질이 우수할 경우 계산 효율성과 적합도 관점에서 모수적 추정과 예측 접근 방법이 타 방법보다 우수한 것으로 도출되었다.

스마트폰 사용 특성별 잠재적 고객만족 개선지수 분석 (An Analysis of Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement Index of Smart Phone by Usage Characteristics)

  • This paper is a follow up to the previous study which reveals that smartphone users are divided into three subcategories according to their usage characteristics. In this paper, these groups are called as 'general', 'entertainment', and 'work-assistant', taking into account their respective characteristics. The 'general' is a group whose smartphone usage characteristics are not focused on a specific purpose, the 'entertainment' is focused on music, internet, SNS, picture, and e-banking, and the 'work-assistant' is on work, GPS, diary. Inter-relation between the importance and satisfaction for the purchase determinants to the groups is investigated. In addition, Kano analysis of quality attributes is also performed, which includes quality type, satisfaction/dissatisfaction index, and PCSI (Potential Customer Satisfaction Improvement) index. The analysis result are as follows. Firstly, inter-relation between importance and satisfaction differs by user group. 'Internet', 'Ease of use', and 'Performance' purchase determinants are evaluated as competitive determinants in 'work-assistant' user group. Secondly Kano quality types of quality characteristics also differs by user group. 'Application' was classified as an attractive (A) types to 'entertainment' group and so on. 'Internet' 'Failure/Bug', 'Touch response rate' and 'Charging' are located in 'Nice' Region of S-PCSI Diagram and have to be considered as strategic quality characteristics. The results of this study is expected to give some helps in establishing a customer tailored quality strategy.

삼차원 프린팅 기술을 이용한 전산화단층영상 품질 측정용 팬텀 제작 및 비교 연구 (A Study on the Fabrication and Comparison of the Phantom for Computed Tomography Image Quality Measurements Using Three-Dimensions Printing Technology)

  • Quality control (QC) of Computed Tomography (CT) devices is based on image quality measurement on AAPM CT phantom which is a standard phantom. Although it is possible to control the accuracy of the CT apparatus, it is expensive and has a disadvantage of low penetration rate. Therefore, in this study, we make image quality measurement phantom at low cost using FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) type three-dimensional printer and try to analyze the usefulness, compare it with existing standard phantom. To print a phantom, We used three-dimensional printer of the FFF system and PLA (Poly Lactic Acid, density: $1.24g/cm^3$) filament, and the CT device of 64 MDCT (Aquilion CX, Toshiba, Japan). In addition, we printed a phantom using three-dimensional printer after design using various tool based on existing standard phantom. For image quality evaluation, AAPM CT phantom and self-generated phantom were measured 10 times for each block. The measured data were analyzed for significance using the Mannwhiteney U-test of SPSS (Version 22.0, SPSS, Chicago, IL, USA). As a result of the analysis, phantom fabricated with three-dimensional printer and standard phantom showed no significant difference (p>0.05). Furthermore, we confirmed that image quality measurement performance of a phantom using three-dimensional printer is similar to the existing standard phantom. In conclusion, we confirmed the possibility of low cost phantom fabrication using three dimensional printer.
