전통시장 상인의 건강 관련 삶의 질 수준 및 관련요인 분석 (Analysis of Levels of Health-related Quality of Life and Its Related Factors of Traditional Market Merchants)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify levels of health-related quality of life (EQ-5D) and its related factors among merchants in traditional markets. Methods: A cross-sectional design was used. Data were collected through questionnaires and physical examination on blood pressure, blood glucose, total cholesterol and BMI between February 12 and April 13, 2018. The participants were 175 merchants from two traditional markets in U. Metropolitan city. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. Results: Levels of health-related EQ-5D were significantly different according to demographic characteristics, smoking status, exercise, total cholesterol, BMI, subjective health status, stress, and depression. The EQ-5D related factors were variables that had significant influence on subjective health status (β=.30, p<.001), gender (β=.27, p<.001), BMI (β=-.16, p=.012), depression (β=-.17, p=.010), and working period (β=-.15, p=.021). They explained 27.2% of the total variance of health-related quality of life (F=13.91, p<.001). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicated that disease prevention and health management is essential for merchants who work in traditional markets to promote their health-related quality of life. For better merchants outcome, the intervention program should consider factors that are subjective health status, gender, BMI, depression, and working period in order to improve levels of EQ-5D.

Effects of Dehairing Methods and Sex on Pork Quality and Boar Taint Compound Levels in Tissues

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of dehairing methods and sex on various traits of pork quality, as well as on tissue levels of the boar taint compounds androstenone and skatole. At the early postmortem period, dehided pigs showed higher muscle pH levels (p<0.05), lower temperatures (p<0.05) and lower drip loss (p<0.001) than scalded pigs. Thus, the dehairing method can affect the early postmortem glycolytic rate and water-holding capacity. Moreover, the differences in meat quality traits between the genders were small, and not considered to have practical importance. The scalding method had only a limited effect on the androstenone content. On the other hand, the scalded entire males exhibited a lower content of skatole than the dehided entire males (p<0.01). These results appear to indicate that the heating treatment from the scalding process influenced the reduction of skatole content for the scalded entire males.

Changes in the Physico-chemical and Microbial Quality during the Production of Pastırma Cured with Different Levels of Sodium Nitrite

  • Pastırma, a dry-cured meat product, is produced from the whole muscle and/or muscles obtained from certain parts of beef and water buffalo carcasses. The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of different levels of sodium nitrite on changes in the physicochemical and microbial quality during the production of pastırma. The changes in residual nitrite, salt, pH, moisture, thiobarbutiric acid reactive substances (TBARS), colour (L*, a*, b*), total aerobic mesophilic bacteria (TAMB), lactic acid bacteria (LAB), Micrococcus/Staphylococcus (M/S), mould-yeast (M-Y), and Enterobacteriaceae counts of pastırma with 0, 50, 100 and 150 ppm sodium nitrite were determined during the production. The nitrite levels and the production stages had significant effects (p<0.01) on residual nitrite, TBARS, pH, salt, and colour values. The TBARS values of the pastırma with nitrite were significantly lower (p<0.05) than the control. The final TAMB, LAB, M/S, and M-Y counts of pastırma with 150 ppm nitrite were significantly (p<0.05) lower than the control. Also, the a* (relative redness) values of control pastırma were significantly lower (p<0.05) than the pastırma with nitrite. The production stages had a significant effect (p<0.01) on the moisture.

간호대학 학생의 수면의 질과 스트레스의 상관관계 (The Relationship between Sleep Quality and Stress among Nursing Students in Korea)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between sleep quality and stress among nursing students. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 94 nursing students from a University in Seoul. Participants completed questionnaires and the data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficients. Results: The mean score of sleep quality was $6.93{\pm}2.66$ among nursing students and 81.9% had a sleep problem. The mean score of stress was $18.61{\pm}4.84$. Sleep quality was significantly different by clinical practice days per week, subjective physical health status, and subjective mental health status. Stress levels were significantly different by subjective physical health status, subjective mental health status, social relationship satisfaction, and satisfaction levels of nursing major and university. A significant relationship between sleep quality and stress (r= .45, p< .001) was found, meaning that a lower quality of sleep was significantly correlated with higher stress level. Conclusion: The results indicated that most nursing students had sleep problems and stress. Therefore, interventions are needed to be developed to lower the level of stress and increase the quality of sleep among nursing students.

Effect of Varying Levels of Aflatoxin, Ochratoxin and Their Combinations on the Performance and Egg Quality Characteristics in Laying Hens

  • A 50 day feeding trial was conducted with White Leghorn (WL) laying hens, 42 weeks old, to determine if feeding of varying levels of aflatoxin (AF), ochratoxin A (OA) or their combinations has any effect on their performance and egg quality parameters. Feeding of $T_4$, $T_7$, $T_8$, $T_9$ and $T_10$ caused significant reduction in feed intake of hens. Hen day egg productions were significantly reduced at all the levels of toxins except 0.5 ppm of AF. Maximum reduction in egg production was noticed at 2 and 4 ppm of AF and OA, respectively. Average body weight and egg weight were not affected by toxin feeding. The feed efficiency in terms of net feed efficiency and feed consumed per dozen egg produced was significantly reduced at higher levels of both the toxins and their combinations. Feed consumption for production of 1 kg egg mass remained uninfluenced due to aflatoxin feeding whereas significant increase in the value of the same was noticed at 4 ppm level of OA and combination of 1 and 2 ppm of AF and 2 and 4 ppm of OA ($T_9$ and $T_10$), respectively. Various levels of OA (1-4 ppm) and all the combination of two toxins ($T_8$, $T_9$ and $T_10$) significantly altered the shape index of eggs in laying hens. The shell thickness was significantly reduced by higher level of AF (2 ppm), OA (2 and 4 ppm) and their combination. Albumen index, Haugh Unit and yolk index remained unchanged due to incorporation of toxins in the diet. It is concluded that AF, OA either singly or in combination at higher levels could depress the performance in terms of egg production and feed efficiency significantly. The egg quality parameters i.e. shape index and shell thickness were also significantly affected.

태안해안국립공원 연안으로 유입되는 하계-추계 육상오염원의 오염도 평가(2017~2018) (Evaluation of the contamination Level of Inland Pollution Sources Flowing into Taeanhaean National Park in Summer and Fall (2017-2018))

  • This study evaluated the contamination levels of inland pollution sources flowing into Taeanhaean National Park. The nutritional status of influents was assessed by analyzing water quality and trophic status index (TRIX) at 52 stations, and the contamination levels of sediments were evaluated by analyzing eutrophication cleanup index (CIET) and heavy metals at 36 stations. The results of the TRIX analysis showed that 26 of the 52 stations had influents with a TRIX value of 6-10 (poor water quality/very high trophic level), indicating atrocious water quality and high eutrophication levels. The results of the CIET analysis showed that 4 out of the 36 stations were highly contaminated with organic matter. Analysis of heavy metals showed that the copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn) levels exceeded the threshold effects level (TEL) and probable effects levels (PEL) at several stations. In addition, the arsenic (As) level exceeded the threshold effects level at one station, and the levels of the other heavy metals (Cd, Cr6+, Ni, Pb, and Hg) were lower. Most inland pollution sources have been identified as small-scale, but long-term and continuous exposure can negatively affect the marine ecosystem; therefore, it necessary to prepare inland pollution source management standards and measures suitable for the characteristics of the coastal area.

시화호 및 주변해역의 수질 특성 (Characteristics of Water Quality In the Shihwa Lake and Outer Sea)

  • 본 연구에서는 시화호의 수질 관리 정책 연구를 위한 최근의 수질 자료 확보를 목적으로 2010년에 시화호 내 외측 해역에서 수질 조사를 수행하였다. 시화호 표층수 수질항목들의 수평적 농도분포는 하천을 통한 담수 유업과 배수갑문을 통한 외해수 유입의 영향으로 인하여 반윌 및 시화 산단 얀근 상류지역에서는 높고 배수갑문으로 갈수록 낮아지는 경향을 나타냈다. 시화호 외해에서는 TN 및 TP가 소래포구에 가까운 곳에서 높은 농도를 나타내었으며, 전체적으로 시화호 내해보다는 상대적으로 낮은 농도를 나타내었다. 시화호 내측의 경우, 여름철 성층 형성 및 저층의 활발한 유기물 분해로 빈산소층이 발달되고 있었다. 수질항목들의 수직적 농도분포의 경우, 용존영양염, TN 및 TP는 표층보다 저층에서 높았지만, COD, 클로로필-a 및 POC는 이와 반대로 저층보다 표층에서 높은 분포를 나타냈다. 시화호 표층수에서 염분은 용존영양염과 양호한 음의 상관성을 보여 담수 기원의 영양염 공급이 확인되었고, 이에 의한 식물플랑크톤의 대증식으로 COD 및 POC가 높게 나타났다.

  • The problem that we address is to determine the inventory stockage levels in a multi-echelon inventory system for repairable items in a multi-indenture system. We propose the simulation optimization approach to determine the stockage levels at each echelon, where a simulator for the underlying system is combined with an appropriate optimization tool, Genetic Algorithm (GA).

충청북도지역 보육시설의 학부모대상 급식서비스 현황과 품질 만족도 (Quality Evaluation of Foodservice within Child Care Centers in Chungbuk Province)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine parents' perceptions towards, and the importance and performance levels of, foodservices in child-care centers and to suggest ways to increase foodservice quality and promote efficient operations in the future. A questionnaire survey was provided to 540 parents and the return rates 82%. The survey period was from June 20 to July 27,2007. The collected data were statistically analyzed with the SAS package program using descriptive statistical analysis, t-tests, ANOVA, Duncan's multiple comparisons, factor analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows: The parents perceived that foodservice operations promoted their children's health and helped them form desirable dietary habits. The parents also had a high level of perception toward the need for foodservice, earning greater than 4.5 points out of 5 points. Their perceptions of foodservice quality were examined by four dimensions of importance and performance levels. While the parents gave 4 points or greater of 5 points to most quality attributes of importance level, they gave 4 points of less out of 5 points to most quality attributes of performance level. As for the importance and performance levels of the quality dimensions of meal service, the parents regarded sanitation as the most important dimension. IPA showed that 'organic food materials' was included as a 'focus here' area. The overall satisfaction level for foodservice was 3.59 out of 5 points. A higher level of satisfaction was shown when a dietitian was present as well as in public childcare centers. According to multiple regression analysis, 53.51% of the variance in the respondents' overall satisfaction scores was explained by factors such as food, sanitation, environment, and foodservice effects.

Quality Characteristics of Sponge Cake added with Pine Leaf Powder

  • This study investigated the quality characteristics of sponge cake added with pine leaf powder. The pine leaf powder sponge cake was prepared with different ration of pine leaf powder(0, 10, 20, 30, 40%). The specific gravity, baking loss rate and cake weight increased significantly with increasing the levels of pine leaf powder. In terms of color, lightness and yellowness increased with increasing levels of pine leaf powder. The sponge cake added with ratio of 40% pine leaf powder appeared to be the highest. In terms of textual property evaluation, sponge cake were increased by the level of pine leaf powder. The substance's level of springiness, and cohesiveness decreased by increasing of the level of pine leaf powder. In sensory evaluation, 10% pine leaf e sponge cake was better on taste, overall acceptability, and flavor. The results showed that sponge cake quality with 10% pine leaf powder was considered the best.
