  • As it got through the step of super-high speed internet, mobile and digital convergence, the Ubiquitous Society is being attained gradually. Now, it is being variously spread not only the little ordinaries of communication but also fields of economy and industry. Specially, RFID and Navigation system are being used at home and foreign. These are prospected to give assistances that it brings along the competitive power of nation. But inflection range of RFID and Navigation is localized in the most simplest. This paper proposes system to reflect the individual and special quality using RFID and Navigation and to fit easily changing environment. And we studied to use what kind of information in the special environment. We used Fuzzy Logic and TSP for making the intelligence path searching and guiding system with more information.

  • In order to compare the quality of canned pork products which are called collectively as luncheon meat, residual nitrite, sodium, collagen, total heme pigments and chemical composition were analyzed in 12 products of 8 companies from 4 countries. Also, the proteins of products were compared with that of pork by SDS-PAGE analysis. The level of residual nitrite was low in all the products and sodium levels were similar except in one or two products. As for collagen and total heme pigments content, among imported products luncheon meats were different from chopped meat products while domestic products were similar regardless of label distinction. Collagen contents of domestic products were similar to those of imports but total heme pigments contents were much higher Densitometer scans of gel electrophoretograms of chopped meat were more similar to that of pork than those of luncheon meat. In terms of chemical composition, luncheon meat had more carbohydrate regardless of whether they are domestics or imports. The quality of domestic luncheon meat appears to be the composite of those of imported luncheon meat and chopped meat. Accordingly, the quality standard for luncheon meat as a cheap product should be established in Korea to enable the domestic products to have a competitive power in price.

  • We applied IT ecosystem analysis to Smart Grid system in this paper and thereby compared various arguments about Smart Grid technologies against the reality of the power generation and distribution in South Korea with a special attention to the power distribution side. Our work attempts to propose policy implications in the government-level based on a firm-level analysis using the framework of the competitive strategy and advantage. The Smart Grid initiative is expected to enhance the efficiency in the power generation and distribution. In addition, the Smart Grid initiative aims at capturing the opportunities in the electric power business such as parts, components, supplies, and system products in the global arena. Prerequisites of smart distribution system include building infrastructure based on smart distribution parts, information systems, communication technologies, and developing various application programs and interfaces that would interact with the consumers. Consumers are expected to play an integral role by changing their consumption patterns in response to dynamic pricing and quality choices enabled by the smart distribution technologies. In order to induce the consumers to participate actively in the program, firms and policy makers should consider providing consumers economic incentives and proper education for better understanding of new technologies. Our work helps policy makers and firm better understand the nature of technology and stakeholders for the successful implementation of smart distribution technologies.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate regional commitment index(RGI) of hospital in Korea, and the relationship RGI and hospital characteristics, such as foundation, region, size. Therefore, we are to suggest fundamental information to make and evaluate healthcare resource policy in hospital- and government-level. Methods : The 'Patient Survey 2002(administered by Ministry of Health and Social Welfare(MOHW)' was analyzed. We selected the patient data of the hospitals above 100 beds. Then, we calculated the RGI, number of same cases divided by all cases in each hospital. By using SPSS/win ver 14.0, statistical analysis such as t-test, ANOVA, correlational and regression analysis was carried out. Results : The results are as follows. 1. Overall mean and standard deviation of RGI were revealed as 0.805${\pm}$0.225 in inpatients, and 0.871${\pm}$0.184 in outpatient. The median of inpatients' and outpatients' RGI were 0.890 and 0.933. The RGI of inpatients of private hospitals were revealed significantly higher than that of the public(public: 0.727, private: 0.822). However, outpatients' RGI was not revealed as significantly different. 2. The RGI of general specialty hospitals were significantly lower than others, therefore we could think that more inpatients and outpatients of general specialty hospitals flowed in from others province or metropolitan cities than other hospital types. 3. The RGI of hospitals holding above 400 beds were significantly lower than others in inpatients and outpatients. 5. The RGI of hospitals were significantly different among sixteen province and metropolitan cities. The RGI inpatients of Gwangju and Daejon metropolitan city were lowest sub-group(0.659, 0.664), and the RGI inpatients of Jeju was revealed as highest, 0.979. 6. Available beds, total doctors, and total employees were negatively correlated with RGI of inpatients and outpatients. 7. The significant influencing factors to RGI of inpatients and outpatients were appeared samely such as available beds, wide healthcare region, hospital size, and foundation type. Conclusions : It is considered that RGI of hospital represent competitive power in healthcare market. Also, the competitive advantage and quality of hospital clustered by characteristics could made out by RGI. Therefore, the results of this study would be useful to develop and evaluate hospital policy of individual hospital or local government.

Therefore, managers should have a marketing strategy which comes up to customers' expectations with a clarified concept. In this respect, this study focuses on the structure of a specialized Japanese coffee store system which is similar to that of Korea and its changing process. The purpose of this paper is to present an ideal strategy for a specialized Korean coffee store system after investigating Japanese various kinds of coffee, their developmental process, and the Japanese coffee market trend. According to this results, Korean studies on coffee are just focusing on the quality of services. Therefore, it is necessary to study the scale of stores, the classification between domestic coffee stores and those of foreign enterprises, and the comparative analysis of both individual coffee stores and franchised coffee stores.

  • Jeju soybean industry is not competitive in areas of food-safety, quality, price, and bargaining power. Also, the processing products of soybean are simply-processed product. They are short of diversified product. The size of processing company is very small. The purpose of this study is to review and suggest programs for the construction and management of a network among farmhouseholds, agricultural cooperatives, manufacturing companies, related research institutes, and the local government, which are integrated vertically, horizontally and systematically. Jeju soybean cluster consists of production system, research & development system, industrial-support system, practical technology-support system, and center of operation. This system will help farmers get stable sales market & income. Also, It will help farmers produce the production of environment-friendly agricultural raw products.

  • The thermometers is widely used in diagnostic medical devices, and the safety and accurate performance of these devices are important in the diagnosis and monitoring of personal health. Especially, the accuracy of infra-red thermometer is highly emphasized. Here two typical thermometers are utilized for this purpose: the electronic thermometers measure body temperature by contacting to subject while infra-red thermometers measure by no contacting to subject. Therefore, the evaluating items of each thermometer are different, and the standard for each temperature is highly needed. But, there have been no international standards of each thermometer such as IEC. In this paper, we developed the standards of electronic and infra-red thermometer based on national standards such as KS, ASTM, EN, JIS and FDA guidance. The new standards focused on the safety and suitable performance for health care. This standards were applied to enact and revise the electronic medical device standards. So it can be applied to evaluate the safety and performance on technical file review. We predict that this standard will improve the quality of diagnostic medical devices (thermometers) and increase the international competitive power of domestic product.

This strategy has been used in library management and become the general method. The libraries in the U.S. stated to adopt the outsourcing system to organize the information of library works. Those in Korea also commence to use this method later on. The main reason of outsourcing the cataloging and classification works in the library was to reduce the budget; however, result were diverse. The efficiency on performing works was positive while the quality of bibliographic record was not guaranteed. Regardless of various opinions, The National Library of Korea decided to apply the method to cataloging and classification considered as a major work in maintaining library. This study is to analyze and criticize the decision made by The National Library of Korea.
