Objectives This study was aimed to analyze the reports of qualitative research published in domestic Korean medicine journals.Methods Eleven published qualitative research studies were selected for analysis. Selected reports were analyzed by Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ), a reporting guideline for qualitative research.Results In the 1st domain, descriptions of personal characteristics, interviewer's bias or assumption were insufficient. In the 2nd domain, descriptions such as presence of non-participants, research questions for the interview guidelines, data saturation and transcript return to participants were insufficient. In the 3rd domain, descriptions of items related to number of data coder, participants evaluating the finding, and clarity of minor themes were insufficient.Conclusions Qualitative studies in Korean Medicine have increased. COREQ should be considered by investigators who report qualitative research, in order to improve the quality of research.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze reports of qualitative research published in Journal of Korean Academy of Fundamentals of Nursing (JKAFN). Methods: Twenty four qualitative research studies using in-depth interviews and focus group interviews published in JKAFN from 1994 to 2014 were selected for analysis. Chosen reports were analyzed by consolidated criteria for reporting qualitative research (COREQ), which is a reporting guideline for qualitative research. COREQ consists of 32 items and 3 domains. Results: In the 1st domain, the relationship of researchers and research participants, bias and understanding of the researchers on the study phenomenon were analyzed less than other items. In the 2nd domain, methodological research was carried out across various qualitative studies, but the description of the research environment and research questions for the interview guidelines was insufficient. In the 3rd domain, research results and data were consistent, but data showing opposing content and explanations of negative practices were not done at all. Conclusion: These results indicate a need for the development of evaluation tools for qualitative research and items should be added to improve the reliability and validity, research should be related to the ethics in the framework of the COREQ.

본 연구는 질적 연구를 시작하는 초보 연구자들을 위해 질적 연구의 기본적인 배경 학적 이론과 방법의 틀을 제시하고, 특수체육에서 질적 연구의 질을 평가하는 기준을 제시하는 데 있다. 첫째, 질적 연구의 기본이 되는 인식론의 이해를 설명하였다. 둘째, 질적 연구에서 가장 많이 활용되는 자료 수집 방법론을 제시하였다. 셋째, 질적 연구에서 자료 분석 방법과 타당성 확보의 근거를 제시하였다. 마지막으로, 특수체육 영역에서 활용되는 질적 연구 질의 평가 기준을 제시하였다. 국 내외 특수체육 분야에서 질적 연구의 숫자는 계속 늘어나고 있고 그 중요성 또한 계속 강조되고 있다. 질적 연구는 연구자들이 참여자들을 관찰, 이해, 분석 그리고 해석하는 과정을 요구하기 때문에 연구자의 역할은 대단히 중요하다. 따라서, 질적 연구를 처음 시작하는 연구자들은 질적 연구의 본질적인 이해와 연구 방법론의 습득이 요구된다. 또한, 지속적인 질적 연구의 질의 평가로 좀 더 깊이 있는 질적 연구의 결과물이 특수체육 분야에 적용돼야 할 것이다.

Quantitative and qualitative research explore various social phenomena using different methods. However, there has been a tendency to treat quantitative studies using complicated statistical techniques as more scientific and superior, whereas relatively few qualitative studies have been conducted in the medical and healthcare fields. This review aimed to provide a proper understanding of qualitative research. This review examined the characteristics of quantitative and qualitative research to help researchers select the appropriate qualitative research methodology. Qualitative research is applicable in following cases: (1) when an exploratory approach is required on a topic that is not well known, (2) when something cannot be explained fully with quantitative research, (3) when it is necessary to newly present a specific view on a research topic that is difficult to explain with existing views, (4) when it is inappropriate to present the rationale or theoretical proposition for designing hypotheses, as in quantitative research, and (5) when conducting research that requires detailed descriptive writing with literary expressions. Qualitative research is conducted in the following order: (1) selection of a research topic and question, (2) selection of a theoretical framework and methods, (3) literature analysis, (4) selection of the research participants and data collection methods, (5) data analysis and description of findings, and (6) research validation. This review can contribute to the more active use of qualitative research in healthcare, and the findings are expected to instill a proper understanding of qualitative research in researchers who review qualitative research reports and papers.

최근 도서관에서 실시하는 이용자 만족도 조사, LibQUAL+ 평가 등을 통해 계량적 데이터뿐만 아니라 이용자의 직접적 견해를 담은 이용자 코멘트 데이터가 점점 더 많이 수집되고 있다. 이러한 질적 데이터는 이용자의 입장을 이해하고, 도서관 서비스의 환경 개선이 필요한 영역을 확인하며, 이용자 니즈의 우선순위를 파악하는 등 도서관 서비스 개선을 위한 전략 수립에 유용한 자료로써 활용될 수 있는 것이다. 따라서 이용자 코멘트 데이터는 그 내용이 분석되고, 분석 결과를 서비스 및 정책에 반영할 필요가 있다. 본 연구는 이용자 코멘트 데이터의 활용성을 높일 수 있는 기반을 제공하고자, LibQUAL+ 설문의 이용자 코멘트 분석을 중심으로 하여 실제 외국 도서관의 LibQUAL+ 설문 이용자 코멘트 분석 방법을 알아보고, 분석을 위해 사용된 질적 데이터 분석 소프트웨어 및 분류표 등 분석도구에 대해 살펴보았다. 또한, 대표적 질적 데이터 분석 소프트웨어와 외국에서 LibQUAL+ 이용자 코멘트 분석을 위해 개발된 분류표를 최근 국내 대학도서관에서 시행된 LibQUAL+ 설문의 이용자 코멘트 일부에 적용하여 분석해봄으로써 그 유용성을 확인하였다.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to describe work experiences of triage nurses working at emergency departments in Korea. Methods: A qualitative descriptive research method was used. Twenty-one nurses of emergency department participated in the first interview and 16 of them participated in the second interview. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and field notes. Qualitative content analysis was utilized to analyze the data. Results: Forty-eight codes, 12 categories, and six themes emerged from the data analysis: caring on the frontline, burden as an initial evaluator, handling things alone, lack of others' understanding, becoming an expert, and needs for improvement. Participating triage nurses faced many challenges and difficult situations in emergency departments. They felt burden and loneliness as initial evaluator. Also, they felt pride in their work and struggled to become a professional. Conclusion: This study is the first qualitative study that has focused on exploring the experiences of triage nurses in emergency departments in Korea. The results provide description and in-depth understanding of working experiences of triage nurses. The results provide valuable fundamental data for regulation, clinical practice, education, and research for triage nurses in Korean emergency departments.

대부분의 부도 예측에 관한 연구는 재무 변수를 중심으로 통계적 방법 또는 인공지능 기법을 적용하여 부도 예측 모형을 구축하였다. 그러나 재무비율과 같은 회계 정보를 이용한 부도 예측 모형은 재무 제표 결산 시점과 신용평가 시점 간 시차를 고려하지 않을 뿐만 아니라 해당 산업의 경제적 상황과 같은 외부 환경적인 요소를 반영하기 어렵다는 한계점이 존재하였다. 기업의 부도 여부를 예측하기 위해 정량 정보인 재무 변수만을 이용하는 것에 한계가 있음에도 불구하고 정성 정보를 부도 예측 모형에 반영한 연구는 아직 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 재무 변수를 이용하는 기존 부도 예측 모형의 성과를 개선하기 위해 빅데이터 기반의 정성 정보를 추가적인 입력 변수로 활용하는 부도 예측 모형을 제안하였다. 제안 모형의 성과 향상은 정성 정보를 예측 모형에 통합시키기에 적합한 형태로 정보의 유형을 변환시킬 수 있는가에 따라 달려있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 정성 정보 처리를 위한 방법으로 빅데이터 분석 기법 중 하나인 텍스트 마이닝(Text Mining)을 활용하였다. 해당 산업과 관련된 경제 뉴스 데이터로부터 경제 상황에 대한 감성 정보를 추출하기 위해 도메인 중심의 감성 어휘 사전을 구축하고, 구축된 어휘 사전을 기반으로 감성 분석(Sentiment Analysis)을 수행하였다. 형태소 분석 등을 포함한 텍스트 전처리 과정을 거쳐 감성 어휘를 추출하고, 각 어휘에 대한 극성 및 감성 점수를 부여하였다. 분석 결과, 전통적 부도 예측 모형에 경제 뉴스 데이터에서 도출한 정성 정보를 반영하는 것은 모형의 성과를 개선하는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 경제 상황에 대한 부정적 감정이 기업의 부도 여부를 예측하는 데 더욱 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

In order to examine the ways to improve the efficiency of R&D investment, this paper presents analysis on both quantitative and qualitative efficiency of R&D projects. As Korea's R&D investment has significantly increased in recent years, the efficiency of R&D investment has attracted attention. In this paper, a Data Envelopment Analysis(DEA) method is used to construct models for quantitative efficiency and qualitative efficiency analysis. Based on a cases of agricultural R&D projects of Korea, the efficiency of national R&D projects were analyzed and their quantitative and qualitative efficiencies are compared. As a result, statistically significant difference between quantitative and qualitative efficiency was found. Also, characteristics of Decision Making Units(DMUs) which can influence both quantitative and qualitative efficiency were identified. In particular, the stage of a R&D project has significant impact on R&D efficiency. This study suggests that in order to enhance R&D efficiency both quantitative and qualitative nature of outputs should be considered when measuring R&D efficiency.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to understand and describe difficulties and needs experienced by head nurses in the clinical practice education of nursing students. Methods: A qualitative descriptive method was employed. A convenience sampling method was used to recruit participants from four hospitals in South Korea. Twenty-one head nurses participated in the first interview and 17 of them participated in the second interview. Data were collected through two in-depth interviews and field notes were written. Qualitative content analysis method was utilized for data analysis using ATLAS.ti 6.2 software. Results: Thirty-one codes and twelve categories were identified. Four themes emerged from data analysis, which included 'too many tasks', 'limitations of student education', 'many differences', and 'lack of support and resources.' Conclusion: This qualitative study described head nurses' many difficulties and needs in the clinical practice education of nursing students. The results of this study provide valuable understanding and knowledge of head nurses' experiences in students' clinical education, which leads to improvement of the quality of clinical education for nursing students.
