How to organize and manage hospital QA according to specific structures of a general hospital in Korea? (한국의 병원 구조에서 QA 팀을 어떻게 구성하고 운영 할 것인가?)

  • Since the start of the Korean Society of Quality Assurance in Health Care in 1994, QA has improved, but it is time to develop our own policies that are more appropriate for Korean hospitals. American Quality Assurance policies are difficult to apply to the Korean medical community due to the differences in health insurance policies, and hospital structure between the two countries. Methods : I would like to propose more efficient organization and management of Quality Assurance according to the specific structures of hospitals in Korea. All of the hospital departments and committees should report to the Quality Assurance office, which in turn should report to the director. I would like to suggest that the current insurance review staff be used for the Quality Assurance office. A nurse should be in charge of the Quality Assurance department. The Quality Assurance department should have three sections: Medical Inssurance Review, QA records for the different Medical Departments, and QA records for the Ancillary Departments. A staff physician should be the chairman of the hospital QA committee, which should serve as the advising body to the QA Department. The QA Committee should be organized into eight subcommittees so that all departments thought the hospital are represented. The current Medical Insurance Review offices in Korea have similar responsibilities to the QA Department: therefore I would like to recommend that the Medical Insurance Review office be changed the the QA office. If there are presently two separate Medical Insurance and QA offices, these should be combined into one office. Conclusion : These changes would surely benefit hospitals and strengthen the efficiency of both Insurance Review and Quality Assurance.

  • Depending on the size and complexity of the game, interest in game quality control is increasing. The quality of the game can be evaluated through fun and stability tests, and the player's satisfaction varies greatly accordingly. For the quality control of the game, Fun QA is in charge of testing to increase the fun and give satisfaction to the players. In this study, we first looked at software quality improvement techniques and game QA work. And in order to improve game quality, we analyzed Fun QA, which is relatively unstructured compared to Technical QA, which is mainly responsible for stability testing. Based on this, the Fun QA process was proposed and an example of Fun QA design was presented using real games. It is expected that this study will be one of the pillars of the game quality management area pursuing quality improvement by guaranteeing fun. Furthermore, it is expected to help QA workers expand their work area.

  • Traditionally Nuclear Research and Development (R&D) result has been big influence on other industries and societies and it requires large scale investments and study period. So it is essential to apply Quality Assurance (QA) for systematic R&D management. This paper investigates QA System for U.S. Nuclear R&D and reviews QA elements. Based on this investigation, we applied QA requirements to Nuclear Hydrogen R&D project, and the scope of application be enlarged as R&D stage in progress. We also present QA system improvement way through consideration for Nuclear Hydrogen Project's QA application. As the need for QA in R&D is expected to increase in the future, it is necessary to prepare guidelines for R&D QA.

  • QA직군은 이론 지식을 바탕으로 게임 제작 프로젝트의 초기 단계부터 게임의 품질관리를 위한 계획을 수립하고, 개발 단계에 맞춰 QA를 진행한다. 청강대 게임콘텐츠스쿨에서는 이를 위해 사전에 다양한 이론과 실기 중심의 과목들을 운영하여 학생들의 기본 지식을 다지고 이를 기반으로 프로젝트를 진행할 수 있도록 교육과정을 운영하고 있다. 청강대 게임콘텐츠스쿨의 게임 제작 프로젝트 과정에서 진행하는 QA 사례 연구를 통해 대학의 게임 개발 프로젝트에서 활용할 수 있는 QA 프로세스를 제안한다.

Educational Needs of Hospital-based Staff Nurses in Quality Improvement Activities (간호사 질 향상 교육요구도 조사 연구)

  • Recently there are increasing concerns on quality improvement activities related to difficult economic situations, more competitive environment, health professional's emphasis on quality, and customer's needs in health care. The purpose of this study was to identify educational needs in the quality improvement for staff nurses. Study setting was an acute care hospital having more than 1000 bed in Seoul, Korea. The subjects were 40 staff nurses who participated in the first Quality Assurance(QA) inservice education. Data were collected by self-administered questionnaire which consisted of four parts : QA knowledge and attitude(ten items, by five Likert scale), contents of QA education(ten items, by setting the priority), evaluation of the program(structure, time allocation, place, educational method), and general characteristics of respondents (age, duration to work for hospitals etc.) The response rate was 85%(34/40), Most had positive perspective and attitude about QI/QA activities, but 9% had negative impression and knowledge about this activities. Also they'd like to know the plan of hospital-level QI/QA activities, QI/QA current practice, general hospital system, the role of QA specialist and so on. Consequently, for building the quality improvement activities that is customer-focused, coordinated, outcome-oriented, resource-efficient, collaborative in Korea, at first the education about philosophy, theory, and implementation process of QI/QA should be conducted, and then that on QI/QA terminology, quality indicators development, the analysis and presentation of quality-related data and so forth be followed.

Efficient Submesh Allocation Using Improved QA Algorithm (개선된 QA 알고리즘을 이용한 효율적인 서브메쉬 할당)

  • In 2D(two-dimensional) mesh system, an efficient submesh allocation scheme must have low time overhead for allocation and low response times for incoming tasks. Quick Allocation(QA) reduces submesh allocation time, but can cause high external fragmentation. Due to this, response times for incoming tasks increase. In this paper, we have improved QA to diminish external fragmentation while having not nearly effect on allocation time. Simulation revealed that modified algorithm reduces to some extent the mean response time of the tasks compared to QA.

  • 1. QA담당자로서 전문적인 지식습득 노력이 필요하다. 2. 직원홍보가 필요하다. QA활동이 자신의 진료내용 및 관련업무를 감시하는 것이 아니라고 홍보할 필요가 있다. 3. 의료인 특히 의사의 의식 및 행동에 변화가 필요하다. 4. 직원교육이 필요하다. QA를 쉽게 할 수 있는 방법을 교육시킬 필요가 있다. 복잡한 통계처리 방법보다는 쉽게 할 수 있는 단순비교방법이 더 효과적이라고 본다. 또 어떤 기준치와 역치를 설정하여 시행하기 보다는 지난번 조사결과와 비교하여 개선되는 정도를 파악하는 것이 방법도 더 쉽고 접근하기도 쉽다. 5. 긍정적인 면의 평가도 필요하다. 예를 들어 과잉치료억제보다 의학발전을 위해서는 최신 치료방법 장점을 파악하는 데에도 역점을 둘 필요가 있다. 6. 직원교육과 심도있는 QA활동을 위해서는 전담인력이 필요할 것으로 본다. 7. 경영진의 확고한 의지가 있어야 한다. 8. 병원 QA활동이 서비스 측면보다는 의학적 측면에 더 역점을 두어야 할 것이다. 9. 일반병원에서 쉽게 시행할 수 있는 평가대상과 항목, 기준을 QA학회와 임상학회차원에서 마련하여 주면 일선에서 QA활동하기가 훨씬 수월할 것으로 본다.

  • 메타버스 등 VR·AR을 기반으로 하는 가상세계의 현실화가 점차 가까워지고 있다. 이에 따라 가상세계에서 동작하는 게임이나 다양한 소프트웨어들이 등장하고 있어 이에 대한 QA 방안들이 연구되고 있다. VR·AR 게임은 일반 게임과 달리 장비의 사용 등에 따른 시간적, 공간적 특성 등 여러 가지 고려사항들이 있어 QA 진행에 어려움이 있다. 이를 극복하기 위해서는 VR·AR에 대한 이해를 바탕으로 개발팀과의 협조를 통해 콘텐츠를 세분화하여 작은 범위에서 QA를 단계적으로 진행하는 과정이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 VR, AR 게임을 QA하는 과정에서 고려해야할 사항들을 알아본다.

Development of New Prototype of Mechanical Quality Assurance for Clinical Linear Accelerator (의료용 선형가속기의 기계적 점검을 위한 새로운 정도관리 프로토콜의 개발)

  • In recent years, the radiotherapy equipment has become much more sophisticated, and with the complication comes an increased set of quality assurance (QA) responsibilities. Today's computer controlled linear accelerator requiring QA of not only the radiation integrity, but also the mechanical accuracy of the linear accelerator. The existing QA sheets are adequate for acceptance testing and commissioning but those sheets are somewhat descriptive form for routine QA. establishing the QA sheets for a facility are more efficient if the sheets could estimate the long-term stability for the result of QA. We are going to develope new prototype of mechanical QA sheet to visualize and to verify long-term stability of mechanical QA for clinical linear accelerator. The items included in mechanical QA sheet were 1) gantry rotation, 2) collimator rotation, 3) couch rotation, 4) optical distance indicator (ODI), and 5) laser alignment. We compared new prototype sheet with conventional sheet for several hospitals in Korea for those items. The QA acceptance criteria in this study mainly followed published recommendations. The contents of test for mechanical QA are the following. Confirm that the digital and/or mechanical gantry angle readouts are correct. Verify that digital and/or mechanical readouts of collimator angle agree with the true angle, as determined with the protractor. Measure the light field using a graph paper and compare with the digital readouts. Confirm digital readout accuracy. Verify that the sagittal laser, the left and right lasers, and the ceiling laser intersect at the isocenter. In the design of new QA sheet, we emphasized the representation of the long-term stability of mechanical QA by using Excel program. By using the new prototype QA sheet, we simplified and visualized the mechanical QA process, and could estimate the long-term stability of mechanical error of linear accelerator.
