In this study, we investigated the recovery of copper and synthetic fuel from the waste wire by low temperature pyrolysis which can overcome problems of the recent incineration methods. Through thermal decomposition process of waste wire, we achieved the big advantage of getting usable resources as the forms of copper and fuel with a very high value. The TG/DTA and small-scale reaction experiments were carried out to determine an optimum temperature for waste wire pyrolysis. And the pyrolysis was done at 350, 450, and $550^{\circ}C$, respectively, and heating rate of the TG/DTA was $5^{\circ}C/min$ untill $700^{\circ}C$. The result shows that the optimum temperature range for dehydrochlorination of PVC was $280{\sim}350^{\circ}C$, as a lower temperature range than $400{\sim}550^{\circ}C$ of PE and PP. Practically over 95% of copper metal and synthetic fuel, which has the 8027 kcal/kg as a calorific value, were recovered from the waste wire samples.

Porous carbons have been prepared from different parts of banana stems using two different routes, viz., by pyrolysing the mass at different temperatures as well as by treating the dried mass with chemicals followed by pyrolysis. The pyrolysis behaviour of all these materials has been studied up to $1000^{\circ}C$. Samples treated with acids exhibit more increase in surface area as compared to those treated with alkalies or salts. Analysis of BET surface area shows that the carbon prepared at low temperature shows mixed porosity, i.e., micro and mesopores. Samples heated to high temperature above $700^{\circ}C$ show decrease in macroporosity and increase in microporosity. Liquid adsorption studies have been made using methylene blue and heavy oil. The activated carbons so prepared exhibit higher oil adsorption mainly in the macro and mesopores.

In case of domestic pyrolysis dry distillation gassification technology, it stays at the stage of its early introduction and development. Moreover, the companies possessed of this technology are limited to Japan and some countries in Europe, and domestic operative performance of this system is nominal, so there exist a lot of difficulties in securing its basic data. In addition, considering its operation and management, there happens a corrosion of metals by the production of corrosive gases in time of combustion of waste, and there arise a problem of occurrence of low temperature corrosion on exterior casing or gas ducts of a combustion chamber due to the high temperature corrosion around the burner of an incinerator, lowering the durability of an incinerator. Therefore, this study looked at the problems arising in time of incineration by understanding the characteristics of the pyrolysis dry distillation gassification incinerating facility, and did research on the improvement plan for durability of an incinerator for more economic, efficient waste incineration.

The objective of this study was to investigate the pyrolytic reaction characteristics of a mixed fuel of municipal solid wastes and low-grade anthracite. The reaction variables are pyrolysis condition of mixing ratio, reaction temperature, temperature increase rate. As a result, the optimum mixing ratio was 20 wt.% low-grade anthracite in MSW, which maintains for the low heating value over 3,500 kcal/kg on pyrolysis. The most high reaction velocity constant was shown at $700^{\circ}C$. Also, under the all experimental condition, the reaction velocity constant increased linearly as temperature rate increase, but pyrolysis has to be considered electric power cost and yield of char at lower temperature rate.
$SrZr_{0.95}$$Y_{0.05}$$O_{2.975}$ powder was synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis using a solution that Sr carbonate and Zr and Y nitrates were dissolved in a citric acid solution. The processes of particle formation were in-vestigated with respect to solution properties and pyrolysis temperature. With changing the solution con-centration form 0.1M to 0.01M there was a tendency that average sizes of droplets and particles were de-creased and their size distributions were narrowed. Citrate functional groups converted the droplets into gel particles which prevented an inhomogeneous precipitation of the metal ions and facilitated the diffusion of gases during thermal decomposition. As a result the powder having spherical particles without hollow par-ticles could be prepared. Low pyrolysis temperature led to amorphous particles due to incomplete pyrolysis and made the particles difficult to maintain spherical shape due to retarded gelation of the droplets. Whereas higher pyrolysis temperature produced hollow and broken particles because the droplets un-derwent rapid gelationand decomposition. The particles obtained at two pyrolysis temperature $500^{\circ}$and $1000^{\circ}C$ consisted of a perovskite phase and a very small amount of $SrCO_3$ However after calcination at $1000^{\circ}C$ the particles contained a single perovskite phase having an average particle size of 0.63${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and an apparent density near to the theoretical density.

This Study was investigated operating condition of pyrolysis processing for sludge disposal in sewage treatment plant. Important parameters studied include running time of pyrolysis, run time of dry and pyrolysis processing, water content of sewage sludge, solids amount of sewage sludge(TS%), condition of pyrolysis temperature. Most degradation reaction of sewage sludge are first order, it assumed first order and elucidated the kinetics. This was the basis of characteristics analysis of sludge degradation mechanism. Also, with the increasing of temperature, how the yield of oil and char product change was observed, and the distribution of gas product components was observed. Main components of gas and carbon product are a little difference with pyrolysis temperature, but it consist of $CH_4$, $C_2H_4$, $C_3H_8$, $C_4H_{10}$, toluene, $C_6H_6$, $SO_2$, CO etc. The gas of $C_1-C_4$ yield increased along with degradation temperature of $670^{\circ}C$ and oil yield decreased of $C_6H_6$ and $C_6H_5OH$ with temperature of $600^{\circ}C$. Particularly, low value added char yield 134kg/t at $670^{\circ}C$, but increased to 194kg/t at pyrolysis temperature of $600^{\circ}C$. In the result of elementary analysis on it, it is mainly composed of carbon. From this fact, in pyrolysis of sludge, it comfirmed that carbonization reaction occur at high temperature well.

This study investigated the conversion of oil products from polypropylene by using dispersed Co and Mo catalyst on reaction time and concentration change for knowledging liquefation characteristics at low-temperature (425, 450 and $475^{\circ}C$) pyrolysis in a batch reactor. The reaction time was set in 20~80 minutes and the oil products formed during pyrolysis were classfied into gas, gasoline, kero, diesel and heavy oil according to the domestic specification of petroleum products. The pyrolysis conversion rate was showed as Mo catalyst > Co catalyst > Thermal in all reaction time at reaction temperature $450^{\circ}C$. The conversion rate and yields of the pyrolysis products were the most height when Co and Mo Catalyst ratio was 50:50.
The low-temperature pyrolysis of ABS, polyethylene (PE) and an ABS-polyethylene (ABS-PE) mixture was conducted in a batch reactor at $450^{\circ}C$. The conversion and the product yield were measured as a function of the reaction time with a variation of the mixture composition. The oil products formed during pyrolysis were classified into gas, gasoline, kerosene, gas oil and heavy oil according to the petroleum product quality standard of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy. The pyrolysis conversion increases with an increase in the content of PE. The yield of the pyrolytic products was ranked as heavy oil>gas>gasoline>gas oil>kerosene as the content of PE in the mixture increases.
This study was conducted to investigate the pyrolysis characteristics of switchgrass using TGA-FTIR instrument. Switchgrass is a high yielding perennial grass that has been designated as a potential energy crop, because of its high energy value. Ground switchgrass were pyrolysed at different heating rates of 10, 20, 30, and $40^{\circ}C/min$ in a TGA-FTIR instrument. The thermal decomposition characteristics of switchgrass were analyzed, and the gases volatilized during the experiment were identified. The thermal decomposition of switchgrass started at approximately $220^{\circ}C$, followed by a major loss of weight, where the main volatilization occurred, and the thermal decomposition was essentially completed by $430^{\circ}C$. The pyrolysis process was found to compose of four stages; moisture evaporation, hemicellulose decomposition, cellulose decomposition, and lignin degradation. The peak temperatures for hemicellulose decomposition ($306^{\circ}C$ to $327^{\circ}C$) and cellulose decomposition ($351^{\circ}C$ to $369^{\circ}C$) were increased with greater heating rates. FTIR analysis showed that the following gases were released during the pyrolysis of switchgrass; $CO_2$, CO, $CH_4$, $NH_3$, COS, $C_{2}H_{4}$, and some acetic acid. The most gas species were released at low temperature from 310 to $380^{\circ}C$, which was corresponding well with the observation of thermal decomposition.
Poly(ethylene-co-vinyl acetate) (EVA) was pyrolyzed to eliminate acetic acid of VA unit using off-line pyrolysis, and the deacetylated EVA was analyzed infrared spectroscopy (IR) and pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS). EVA film for deacetylation was prepared by solution casting on aluminum foil and it was pyrolyzed at low temperature of $300^{\circ}C$ in the off-line pyrolysis apparatus. After deacetylation, carbon-carbon double bond (C=C) was formed by 1,2-elimination of the VA unit in the EVA backbone. Most of C=C bonds were trans-1,4-unit and 1,2-unit was also observed. Presence of the 1,2-unit in deacetylated EVA indicates that terminal or branch VA units exist in the raw EVA. Py-GC/MS chromatogram of deacetylated EVA displayed much smaller acetic acid and much more abundant other pyrolysis products than that of raw EVA, which means that the pyrolysis efficiency and separation condition were improved.
