PV system is consisted with PV module, inverter and BOS(balance of system). To have robustic operation more than 20 years, the expected and guaranteed durability and reliability of products should be met. Almost components of PV system are qualified through IEC standards at test laboratory. But the qualification certificate of product does not ensure long-term nondefective operation. PV module's expected life time is nowadays more than 20 years and annual maximum power degradation ratio would be less than -1%. But the power degradation ratio is basically based on real data more than several years' record. Developing test method for ensuring annual maximum power degradation ratio is very need because there are many new products every month with new materials. In this paper, we have suggested new test method under continuous artificial light irradiation test condition for analyze expected maximum power drop ratio.
Physiological and morphological characteristics of Anabaena azollae cells immobilized in a synthetic polymer, polyvinyl(PV), were investigated. The cell density of the non-immersed PV foam reached 4.4mg Chl/g dry wt. PV foam. This is 8 times higher than that of PV-immobiliz action in immersed batch system. And MSX-induced ammonia productivity and the photosynthectic oxygen evolution activity are higher than that of free cells after short-term dark storage. Nitrogenase activity and thermostability of photosynthetic activity are also higher than that of free Anabaena cells after immobilization. Total hydrogen production reached to 1.6ml $H_2$ per reactor (total 4mg Chl) after 6 days.

It is summarized that potential causes of performance degradations and failure mechanisms of crystalline silicon photovoltaic (PV) modules installed in Middle East area. In addition, we also reviewed current PV module qualification test (IEC 61215) and the methods for detection of wear-out fault. The failure of PV modules in the extreme environmental conditions such as deserts is mainly due to high temperature, humidity, and dust storms. In particular, cementation phenomenon caused by combination of sand and moisture leads to rapid degradation in the performance of PV modules. In order to evaluate and guarantee the long term reliability of PV modules, specific qualification tests such as sand dust test, salt mist test and potential induce degradation test considering operating environment of PV module should be carried out.
The amount of solar irradiation obtained by a photovoltaic (PV) solar panel is the major factor determining the power generated by a PV system, and the array tilt angle is critical for maximizing panel radiation acquisition. There are three types of PV systems based on the manner of setting the array tilt angle: fixed, semi-fixed, and tracking systems. A fixed system cannot respond to seasonal solar altitude angle changes, and therefore cannot absorb the maximum available solar radiation. The tracking system continually adjusts the tilt angle to absorb the maximum available radiation, but requires additional cost for equipment, installation, operation, and maintenance. The semi-fixed system is only adjusted periodically (usually seasonally) to obtain more energy than a fixed system at an overall cost that is less than a tracking system. To maximize semi-fixed system efficiency, determining the optimal tilt angle adjustment schedule are required. In this research, we conducted a simulation to derive an optimal operation schedule for a semi-fixed system in Seoul, Korea (latitude $37.5^{\circ}$). We implemented a solar radiation acquisition model and PV genereation model on MATLAB. The optimal operation schedule was derived by changing the number of tilt angle adjustments throughout a year using a Dynamic Algorithm. The results show that adjusting the tilt angle 4 times a year was the most appropriate. and then, generation amount of PV system increased 2.80% compared with the fixed system. This corresponds to 99% compared to daily adjustment model. This increase would be quite valid as the PV system installation area increased.
A semiselective agar medium (XCO) was developed for the isolation of bacterial blight pathogen, Xanthomonas campestris pv. oryzae, from rice seed. The medium contained yeast extract 1.0 g, peptone 2.0 g, sucrose 5.0 g, sodium glutamate 1.0 g, FeSO4.7H2O 0.05 g, Fe.EDTA 1 mg, cephalexin 20 mg, Evan blue (0.1%) 1.5 ml, bromcresol purple (0.1%) 2.5ml, cycloheximide 100 mg and agar 15.0 g per liter. Colonies of X. c. pv. oryzae were 4~5 mm in diameter, smooth, round, blue (darker center) and convex after 6 days incubation at 28$^{\circ}C$. The recovery of 6 isolates of X. c. pv. oryzae on the XOC medium ranged from 81% to 120% (mean 98.2%) in comparison to Wakimoto's medium. The number of saprophytic bacteria from 10 rice seed lots on XCO medium was reduced to 70.4% of that on Wakimoto's medium. The recovery of X. c. pv. oryzae added to rice seed on XOC medium ranged from 67% to 87% (mean 75.6%) of that on Wakimoto's medium.
Pulmonary veins (PVs) and their myocardial sleeves play an important role in the development of atrial fibrillation. Hence, detailed knowledge of PV anatomy is required to improve the procedural success rate and prevent complications during cardiac procedures. The aim of this study was to evaluate the PV anatomy along with anatomical variations in the Indian population. Total 100 formalin fixed cadaveric hearts were examined. The number and pattern of the PVs were observed along with the measurement of their horizontal and vertical diameters. The ovality index for each PV was calculated. Classical PV pattern was observed in 62% cases. Variant pattern like additional right middle PV pattern and left common PV pattern were found in 20% and 10% cases respectively. A separate pattern with presence of both right middle PV and left common PV was observed in 6% cases. In the classical pattern right superior PV was the largest followed by right inferior, left superior and left inferior PV. The additional right middle PV had the smallest diameter whereas the left common PV had the largest diameter. Almost all the veins had greater vertical diameters in comparison to horizontal diameters. The variant PVs were oval and had greater ovality index compared to the normal PVs. In classical pattern 54.8% hearts whereas in variant pattern 79% hearts had one or more oval PV. The given data can help clinicians for planning and execution of various interventional and electrophysiological procedures involving PVs.
Nowadays the bifacial PV system market and its applications are increasing rapidly. The performance of the bifacial PV system take advantage of its rear surface irradiance. Also, the ground albedo, PV module tilt and azimuth, PV module installation height, shading effect and module temperature are factors of bifacial PV system performance. This paper investigates how the performance of bifacial PV system is influenced by above factors. First, we analyzed the energy yield depending on PV module installation by simulation. Secondly, we compare energy performance evaluation of monofacial and bifacial module on different weather condition by experiment. Thirdly, we tested the albedo effect and checked operating characteristics using Dupont Tyvek material for the bifacial PV module. Fourthly, we check the shading effect of bifacial PV module on bypass diode operating. Finally, we applied the bifacial PV module in the nearby subway station for the noise reduction barrier using a qualified simulation program. In summary, we confirm that the energy performance superiority of the bifacial PV module has a lot of application use including road. Also, we have confirmed the bifacial module and inverter design should be considered by rear surface irradiance.
This paper estimates numerically cells the electrical characteristics of the PV module with environmental changes such as shunt resistance, series resistance, temperature, irradiance. Series resistance $R_s$ including diode characteristic resistance $r_d$ is derived from the p-n junction diode model. I-V characteristics of this model with series resistance $R_s$ are simulated on Matlab. Finally, theoretical I-V characteristics are compared with those of solar simulator. Those results agreed well within the manufacturer's maximum error range 3%

In the PV (Photovoltaic) power system, a junction box collects the DC voltage generated from the PV module and transfers it to the PCS (power conditioning system). The junction box prevents damage caused by the voltage difference between the serially connected PV modules and provides convenience while repairing or inspecting the PV array. In addition, the junction box uses the diode to protect modules from the inverse current when the PV power system and electric power system are connected for use. However, by using the reverse blocking diode, heat is generated within the junction box while generating electric power, which decreases the generating efficiency, and causes short circuit and electric leakage. In this research, based on the purpose of improving the performance of the PV module by decreasing the heat generation within the junction box, a junction box with a built-in bypass circuit was designed/manufactured so that a certain capacity of current generated from the PV module does not run through the reverse blocking diode. The manufactured junction box was used to compare the electric power and heating power generated when the circuit was in the bypass/non-bypass modes. It was confirmed that the electric power loss and heat generation indicated a decrease when the circuit was in the bypass mode.
This study aims to suggest the PV lightshelf and to evaluate the power performance of the photovoltaic systems easily mounted on the windows. For the study, the suggested systems consist of two parts as fixed and movable PV modules. Also, tempered glass and polycarbonate are used on the surface protection materials for solar cells of PV lightshelf. By using polycarbonate, the weight of PV lightshelf is lighter about 20%. The field tests are performed for five days by using real size models. The voltage, current and electric powers are measured as basic performances of PV lightshelf. Also, the irradiation, brightness and module surface temperature are measured as outside conditions. As results, the power performance of tempered glass PV lightshelf shows about 11(%) higher thant that of polycarbonate PV lightshelf. And the power performance shows about 5(%) higher in a horizontal system. This results could be used to develop the effective PV lightshelf in next study.
