  • Given the bandwidth assignment for dedicated short range communications for use in vehicular ad-hoc network (VANET) and the expected introduction of equipment in the next few years, we elaborate on how VANET can support infotainment services. We define an architectural model for the integration of VANETs and cellular networks, according to a push mode paradigm where VANETs are used primarily to disseminate service announcements and general interest messages. Cooperation with cellular network is addressed by comparing architecture alternatives. A set of information dissemination protocols for VANETs is compared via simulations on a real urban map. Some results from a lab testbed based on IEEE 802.11p boards are presented along with an application developed for Android operating system to demonstrate the concept of the paper.

  • As steel is highly sensitive to temperature variations, fire exposure is more destructive in the case of steel structures in comparison to the concrete ones. The performance of an intermediate three-story steel moment frame with 4 spans was studied under the service load, thermal load and post-earthquake fire in this paper. Also, the effects of passive fire-protection materials such as ordinary cement-based and fire-retardant coatings were investigated. To model and analyze the structure; Abaqus software is utilized. In order to apply the earthquake effect, the push-over analysis method is employed. Changes in the stories deflection, endurance time and growth of nonlinear regions due to losses in the steel stiffness and strength, are among the issues considered in this study. As an interesting finding, the beams protected by ordinary cement-based coating could sustain the fire exposure at least for 30 minutes in all cases. The mentioned time is increased by employing a new fire-retardant protection, which could prevent significant loss in the structure resistance against fire, even after 60 minutes of exposure to fire.

  • In this study, we want to verify the factors that affect the intention to switch to a supply chain management information system applied with blockchain. To this end, variable selection and research model were constructed through the review of previous studies, and empirical analysis was conducted using the TOE framework and PPM model. The effects of Push and Pull factors on the intention to switch to the block chain system and the moderating effect through the switching cost which is a Mooring factor, were verified. The hypothesis was verified using a structural equation model using a sample of 320 response data by conducting a questionnaire survey on small and medium-sized enterprises located in Korea. As a result of the study, social influence, which is a push factor, and management's will to innovate, which is a Pull factor, had a significant effect on switching intention. And the moderating effect between the groups with high and low switching cost recognition was confirmed. This study is significant in that it presents the concept and research direction of SCBM (supply chain & blockchain management) that can enhance the competitiveness of a company through the implementation of a blockchain-based supply chain management information system.

  • Purpose - In recent times, the international trade environment has been changing rapidly, centering on the online market. In the post-COVID-19 era, small and medium-sized trading companies are facing the problem of not being properly provided with overseas market research, market trend analysis, and trade-related information. Cloud-based digital trade is being sought as an alternative to solve these problems; however, there is a lack of research on the intention to switch to digital trade among small and medium-sized trading companies. Therefore, this study empirically analyzes the intention to switch to digital trade based on the migration theory, and through this, attempts to identify each factor that affects the intention to switch to digital trade. Design/methodology - In this study, in order to identify factors influencing intention to switch to digital trade and innovation resistance of small and medium-sized trading companies, through previous research on migration theory and the PPM (Push, Pull, Mooring) model, each variable was selected for the purpose of the study. Based on this, a research model was established for the factors affecting switching to digital trade of small and medium-sized trading companies and empirically analyzed. In addition, considering the differences in the innovation propensity and maturity of information infrastructure of trading companies as the recipients of innovation, this study analyzes the moderating effect of the mooring effect and seeks ways to establish specific strategies according to the degree. Findings - As a result of empirical analysis, the pull effect was found to have the greatest influence on intention to switch to digital trade. However, the pull factor was found to have an effect on user resistance, and it was confirmed that it was a factor simultaneously inducing positive and negative consumption behaviors among users. In addition, it was found that the higher the company's innovation propensity, the higher the pull effect's influence on the intention to switch, and analysis showed that the push effect had no influence. In addition, companies with high information infrastructure maturity were expected to have a relatively high level of intention to switch compared to companies with low information infrastructure maturity, and the difference between the two groups was found not to be statistically significant. Originality/value - This study is a timely study in that it demonstrated the effect on the switching to cloud-based digital trade for small and medium-sized trading companies and that the cloud system related to digital trade is in full swing. There are academic implications in that it revealed that the pull effect is an important factor in the intention to switch to cloud service. Practical implications were presented in that small and medium-sized trading companies suggested ways to increase the value of the cloud system for switching to digital trade and a way to increase the switching ratio by minimizing the mooring effect. In addition, the study argues that active institutional support from the government is needed to activate cloud service.

  • The concept of privacy-preserving collaborative filtering (PPCF) has been gaining significant attention. Due to the fact that model-based recommendation methods with privacy are more efficient online, privacy-preserving memory-based scheme should be avoided in favor of model-based recommendation methods with privacy. Several studies in the current literature have examined ant colony clustering algorithms that are based on non-privacy collaborative filtering schemes. Nevertheless, the literature does not contain any studies that consider privacy in the context of ant colony clustering-based CF schema. This study employed the ant colony clustering model-based PPCF scheme. Attacks like shilling or profile injection could potentially be successful against privacy-preserving model-based collaborative filtering techniques. Afterwards, the scheme's robustness was assessed by conducting a shilling attack using six different attack models. We utilize masked data-based profile injection attacks against a privacy-preserving ant colony clustering-based prediction algorithm. Subsequently, we conduct extensive experiments utilizing authentic data to assess its robustness against profile injection attacks. In addition, we evaluate the resilience of the ant colony clustering model-based PPCF against shilling attacks by comparing it to established PPCF memory and model-based prediction techniques. The empirical findings indicate that push attack models exerted a substantial influence on the predictions, whereas nuke attack models demonstrated limited efficacy.

  • The paper considers a theoretical model for the study of the process of transfer of sulfate ions in saturated porous media - mineral composites. In its turn, the model treats diffusion of sulfate ions into cement based composites, accounting for simultaneous effects such as filling of micro-capillaries with ions and chemical products and liquid push out of them. The proposed numerical algorithm enables one to account for those simultaneous effects, as well as to model the diffusive behavior of separate sections of the considered volume, such as inert fillers. The cases studied illustrate the capabilities of the proposed model and those of the algorithm developed to study diffusion, considering the specimen complex configuration. Computations show that the theoretical assumptions enable one to qualitatively estimate the experimental evidence and the capabilities of the studied composite. The results found can be used to both assess the sulfate corrosion in saturated systems and predict and estimate damage of structures built of cement-based mineral composites.

  • Empirical relationships that capture the nonlinear behavior of headed steel shear stud anchors have been derived from standard push out tests, where the specimens are comprised of large wide flanged steel sections attached to flat concrete slabs via the anchors. However, many composite systems used in practice utilize much smaller steel members and/or steel decking as part of the slab system. Composite open web steel joist systems generally include both of these elements and consequently the nonlinear performance ofthe anchor is not accurately represented by existing models. In this paper, a new empirical relation is presented for open web steel joist systems based on experimental results from a modified push out test that more realistically represent a composite open web steel joist system. The methodology for obtaining the proposed nonlinear function where the response of the system is characterized by two parameters(α and β) is presented. The two-step process for obtaining the two parameters is described and the empirical relation is calibrated with the experimental data. In comparison with existing expressions, the new proposal herein more accurately predicts the high initialstiffness of the system and overall nonlinear system performance.

  • The objective of this experiment is to observe the elastic and inelastic behaviors of high-rise reinforced concrete frame with infilled masonry. To do this a building frame designed according to Korean seismic code and detailed in the Korean conventional manner was selected. An 1:12 scale plane masonry-infilled frame model was manufactured according to similitude law. Push-over test were performed under the roof displacement control. To simulate the earthquake effect, the lateral force distribution was maintained to be an inversed triangular by using whiffle tree. From the tests, story displacements, lateral story forces, local plastic rotations and the relations between inter-story drift versus story shear are obtained. Based on the test results, conclusions on the characteristics of the elastic and inelastic behaviors of a high-rise reinforced concrete frame with infilled masonry are drawn.
