TV 홈쇼핑에서의 패션제품 구매자의 강박 구매 (Compulsive Buying of Fashion Goods Purchasers on TV Home Shopping Shows)

  • The convenience of TV home shopping is known to provoke compulsive buying, which is chronic and repetitive purchasing behavior that comes about as a response to negative events or feelings. The purpose of this study was to identify whether there is a difference in the degree of compulsive buying between the purchasers of fashion goods and the purchasers of non-fashion goods on TV home shopping shows and the determinants of compulsive buying and their relative importance. Utilizing the convenient sampling method, the sample of the study was composed of women aged over 20 living in the Seoul metropolitan area. Out of 380 distributed questionnaires, 270 useful questionnaires were returned. The data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression. The results indicated that TV home shoppers who purchased fashion goods showed higher degree of compulsive buying than those who purchased non-fashion goods and the determinants of compulsive buying are sample's age, mean age of the sample's children, credit usage, expenditure on fashion goods, frequency of purchase of fashion goods on TV home shopping shows, and promotional tools used by TV home shopping retailers. Regarding the relative importance of the determinants, credit usage was the most influential factor followed by expenditure on fashion goods and the length of exposure to TV home shopping shows.

친환경 유아복에 대한 인식이 유아복 구매시의 제품과 점포 선택기준에 미치는 영향 - 친환경 유아복 구매자와 비 구매자 비교 - (Perceptions of eco-friendly young-children's wear and selection criteria for young-children's wear and stores - A comparison of eco-friendly and ordinary children's wear purchasers -)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine consumers' perceptions of eco-friendly children's-wear and their impact on the selection criteria for children's-wear and stores. A descriptive survey method using a self-administered questionnaire was employed. The sample consisted of mothers with children under the age of 13 residing in Seoul and the Gyeonggi area. Data were collected from September 2011 to October, 2011. The collected data were analyzed to find the differences between purchasers and non-purchasers of eco-friendly children's-wear in terms of their perceptions of eco-friendly children's-wear, as well as the influence of these perceptions on the consideration degree of criteria for the selection of children's wear and store. The results indicate that perceptions of eco-friendly children's-wear implied five key factors related to quality reliability, expected value, style, degree of recognition, and dissatisfaction with design and price. The results also revealed some differences between the group purchasing eco-friendly children's-wear and the group not purchasing eco-friendly children's-wear. These different perceptions were related to the aspects of quality reliability, expected value, style, degree of recognition. In general, the non-purchasing group displayed a lower mean score than the purchasing group. Both groups showed a low interest in aesthetic appreciation and the degree of recognition factor. The results showed that consumer's perceptions of eco-friendly children's-wear had an influence on the criteria for the selection of children's-wear and store type in both groups. Considering the findings of the study, it is clear that both purchasers and non-purchasers of eco-friendly children's-wear showed differences in their perceptions and purchasing behavior. Therefore, marketing strategies to appeal to the non-purchasing group should be differentiated from strategies used to ensure the loyalty of the purchasing group.

  • This paper describes our design of a contents distribution framework that supports transparent distribution of digital contents on the Internet as well as copyright protection of participants in the contents distribution value chain. Copyright protection must ensure that participants in the distribution channel get the royalties due to them and that purchasers use the contents according to usage rules. It must also prevent illegal draining of digital contents. To design a contents distribution framework satisfying the above requirements, we first present four digital contents distribution models. On the basis of the suggested distribution models, we designed a contract system for distribution of royalties among participants in the contents distribution channel, a license mechanism for enforcement of contents usage to purchasers, and both a packaging mechanism and a secure client system for prevention of illegal draining of digital contents.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the extent of information search on consumer satisfaction and to provide, ultimatly, effective consumer search for consumer satisfaction. Data for this study were collected from 452 computer purchasers who living in Seoul. This study has focused on new computer purchasers. The amount of internal information was measured by three categories, such as the number of computer purchase, the frequency, duration of computer use and the degree of computer education. In addition, the amount of prepurchase search was measured by threecategories, such as neutral information, commercial information and private information. The research results shows that the variables affecting on the level of consumer satisfaction are objective search, the degree of computer education, the frequency and duration of computer use, the number of computer purchase. Meanwhile, commercial information search and private information search are not significant affecting variables on the level of consumer satisfaction.

  • The purpose of the study was to identify the status of satisfaction level, moving motivation, the level of housing choosing behavior, and housing needs of potential purchasers in bukgu new housing area, Ulsan. The survey used questionnaire from 336 households living in bukgu area and analyzed using descriptive statistics, and one-way analysis of variance and Scheffe' multiple range test. The research results showed low degree of residents' satisfaction in storage space, neighborhood environment. The moving motivations were physical environment improvement, education environment, walking road, view and lighting.

구매자가 인식하는 단지 내 아파트 단위주거 특성의 가격 반영 정도 (How the Purchasers Perceive the Effects of the Unit Characteristics within Complex on the Apartment Price)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine how the purchasers perceive the effects of the unit characteristics within the complex on the apartment prices. Six major characteristics of the apartments : orientations and floors; views; structures; conditions and maintenances of interior materials; interior alterations; and access to the outdoor facilities were included for the analysis. The data were gathered from 284 households in seven private apartment complexes in Ulsan. It was found that the price of the apartment was higher if it was southward, on the royal or semi-royal floors, with the nice view for the riverside or any other landscape resources, or openness. Other characteristics which increase the price were the hall type not the corridor one, inner side of the building, good conditions of interior materials, and extended balcony.

할인점과 백화점에서의 상품 구매빈도에 따른 시장세분화 및 세분시장의 상점태도 및 의류상품 구매 특성 (Market segmentation based on purchase frequency of products in department store and low-price retailing and difference among segments)

  • The purposes of this study were 1) to segment the market based on purchase frequency of products such as apparel, food, home electronics, life commodity in department store and low-price retailing, 2) to identify differences among segments in belief and attitude toward each store, purchase frequency of apparel items in each store and demographic variables. The data were collected via a self-administered questionnaire from 274 married women living in Seoul, Korea and analyzed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, one-way ANOVA and x$^2$-test. The results of this study were as follows: First, using cluster analysis on purchase frequency of products in each store, four groups were identified and labeled as department store patronage/ non-purchasers of apparel in low-price retailing(25.2%), purchasers of apparel in department store and low-price retailing(16.8%), low-price retailing patronage(30.3%) and non-purchasers of products in department store and low-price retailing(27.0%). Second, a series of one-way ANOV As revealed significant differences among four segments on beliefs of low-price retailing(four store attributes: price and variety of apparel product, facilities for convenient shopping, promotion, brand-reputation and fashionability of apparel product) and department store(three store attributes: price and variety of apparel product, facilities for convenient shopping and promotion) and attitude toward low-price retailing and department store. Attitude toward each store was yielded using Fishbein's multiattributes model. There were also significant differences among groups in purchase frequency of seven apparel items in low-price retailing and six apparel items in department store, and six demographic and personal variables(age, educational status, type of husband's occupation, monthly income and housing). Finally, the papers discussed manageral implications for each segments as well as theoretical implications.

셔츠 및 청바지의 상표선택과 소비자 특성에 관한 연구 (Brand Selection of shirts and Jeans Relating to Consumers' Characteristics: A Comparative Study between Domestic and Foreign Brand)

  • The objectives of this study were to examine the differences in brand selection motives according to the domestic and foreign brand selection with shirts and jeans and to disclose the relationships between the brand selection and consumers' charcteristics; like their demographic variables sociability and superiority. Samples were 262 college women in Seoul Korea. The data were analyzed using t-test paired t-test χ2-test and discriminant analysis. The results of the study were the followings. 1. Purchasers of foreign brand were influenced by 'quality' 'wearing of others', 'reputation of brand', 'possibility of credit card use' more than those of domestic while purchasers of domestic brand were influenced by price. 2. Purchasers of foreign brand had more tendency to decide which brand to buy in advance than those of domestic. 3. 6 brand selection motives consumers' income and sociability contributed to discriminating the group of domestic and foreign brand purchase with shirts. The accuracy of the predicting the groups by the 8 variables was 75.95% Consumers high in sociability and income belonged to the group of foreign brand purchase. 4,6 brand selection motives consumers' age and superiority contributed to discriminating the group of domestic and foreign brand purchase with jeans. The accuracy of the predicting the groups by the 8 variables was 72.52% Consumers high in sociability and income belonged to the group of foreign brand purchase. 4. 6 brand selection motives consumer's age and superiority contributed to discriminating the group of domestic and foreign brand purchase with jeans. 노년층 소비자의 기능성 소재 추구 혜택, 태도 및 구매 의도에 관한 연구 (A Study of Older Consumers' Seeking Benefits and Purchase Intentions for and Their Attitudes towards Functional Materials)

  • The purposes of this study are to examine older consumers' seeking benefits and purchase intentions for functional materials and their attitudes towards such materials and investigate the differences between purchasers and non-purchasers of functional materials in their seeking benefits for functional materials and their emphasis on self development and pursuit of fashion. In doing so, this study samples the older adult population living in Seoul, Busan, and Gyeonggi Province and analyzes 267 questionnaire responses obtained from the sampled older consumers. The main findings from the analysis are as follows: First, the older consumers' seeking benefits for functional materials were represented by three different dimensions: reliability, brands/fashion, and others-oriented pursuit. Second, the influence on the dimension of reliability was more significant in the order of knowledge on functional materials, pursuit of fashion, and emphasis on self-development the interest in garments and the pursuit of fashion were found to have significant influence on the dimensions of brands/fashion and others-oriented pursuit. Third, the respondents' attitudes towards functional materials showed significant correlations with the dimensions of reliability and others-oriented pursuit, while their purchase intentions for functional materials were significantly influenced by the dimensions of reliability and brands/fashion. Finally, when the differences in the respondents' seeking benefits for functional materials and their pursuit of fashion and emphasis on self-development were investigated according to whether or not they had ever purchased clothes made from any functional material, the group of purchasers showed a higher mean value than the non-purchaser group.
