Pulse oximeter to monitor oxygen saturation during pediatric dental sedations enables early detection of hypoxemia. The purpose of this study was to monitor the hemoglobin oxygen saturation level and pulse rate of nonmedicated pediatric patients during routine restorative procedures to study the effect of procedure and treated jaw. We obtained data from 53 children treated at the Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Chonbuk national university hospital. Pulse rate and oxygen saturation were measured and recorded using pulse oximetry at each step of treatment. The results are as follows: 1. In non-anesthesia group, steep increase of pulse rate was observed during rubber dam application in the maxilla and during cavity preparation in the mandible. 2. In anesthesia group, pulse rate started to decrease after the rubber dam application in the maxilla, while its decrease observed since cavity preparation step in the mandible. 3. In non-anesthesia group, oxygen saturation level was relatively constant during all steps in the maxilla, but in mandible, it was higher during operation compared to its pre and post operation baseline. 4. In anesthesia group, oxygen saturation level was observed at 99% level through all steps in both jaw groups, and there was no statistical significance between the maxilla and the mandible groups(p>0.05). The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of routine dental treatment on the pulse rate and oxygen saturation level in nonmedicated pediatric patients during routine restorative procedures in the maxilla and mandible.
The present study was undertaken to determine the optimal condition for parthenogenetic activation of rabbit oocytes by electric stimulation in vitro in an attempt to develop nuclear transplantation techniques for cloning mammalian embryos and animals. Freshly ovulated oocytes were collected from superovulated rabbits from 13 to 26 hrs. after hCG injection. The cumulus-free oocytes were activated parthenogetically by repeated stimuli of square direct electric pulses in O.3M mannitol solution. After applying electric stimulations of different voltages, pulse durations and pulse times, all of the oocytes were cultured in TCM-199 with 10% FCS for 96 hours in a 5% $CO_2$ incubator, and their developmental potential in vitro was examined. The higher activation rate (68.9%) was achieved at the voltage of 2.0kv/cm, the pulse duration of 60 $\mu$sec and three pulse times and the activation rate of 100% was achieved at the pulse duration of 100 and 200 $\mu$sec, the voltage of 1.5kv/cm and three pulse times. Although the higher rates of activation of oocytes were achieved at 100 and 200 $\mu$sec, none of them developed to blastocyst in vitro. The oocytes collected 18~20 hours post hCG injection showed the highest rate of activation and development to blastocyst in vitro than the oocytes collected 13~15 or 25~26 hours post hCG injection. Therefore, it can be suggested that the application of electric stimulation of 2.0kv/cm, 60 $\mu$sec and three pulse times to the oocytes collected at 18~20 hours post hCG injection would be more beneficial for the parthenogenetic activation of oocytes in rabbits.

Objectives : The objective is that we measure and analyze Pulse-Respiration Ratio and Body Composition Analysis to study the correlation between both. Methods : First, after subjects take a rest over 10 minutes, we measure their electrocardiogram and respiration pattern through which we take average peak interval to calculate an average pulse cycle and a respiration cycle. An average respiration cycle divided by an average Pulse Rate gives Pulse-Respiration Ratio. Next, we draw out 22 Body Composition Analysis indicators by using In-Body 720 model. Last, we analyze and take statistics on them by using SPSS 13.0 program. Results : Negative is the correlation between P/R Ratio and Body Composition Analysis indicator like fatness degree, body fat volume, body fat rate, abdominal fatness, BMI. Conclusions : 1. The higher P/R Ratio the more likely to be thin, the lower P/R Ratio the more likely to be fat. 2. We separately analyze P/R Ratio depending on each breathing frequency and pulse frequency to find out that breathing frequency has great influence and that breathing frequency decides the fatness degree. 3. In study on the correlation between P/R Ratio and Body Composition Analysis, fatness degree, in-body fat volume, in-body fat rate, BMI are the related indicators, which shows the connection with the fatness indicators. 4. In study on the correlation between Han-Yeol [寒熱] grade and Body Composition Analysis indicators, the result is that Han[寒] has no connection and that only Yeol[熱] grade has something to do with it, which means the higher heat symptom subjects have, the more basic metabolism volume and muscular build they have.

Objectives: The aim of this experiment is to know the effect of Mountain Cultivated Ginseng Pharmacopuncture on Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Pulse wave velocity (PWV) in Middle Aged Women. Methods: We investigated on 40 women of breast cancer patients. First, we measured their Heart Rate Variability(HRV), Pulse wave velocity (PWV) and then Mountain Cultivated Ginseng Pharmacopuncture $20m{\ell}$ were injected on them. After 30 minutes, we measured Heart Rate Variability(HRV), Pulse wave velocity(PWV) again. As a result, method of non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design were used for evaluation. Results: In HRV, Mean HRV is significantly decreased from 69.15 to 63.34 after injection. Mean RR is significantly increased from 877.20 to 962.10 after injection. SDNN is significantly increased from 32.56 to 41.34 after injection. PNN50 is significantly decreased after injection. RNSSD, SDSD, TP, VLF is significantly increased after injection. Stress Resistance ability is significantly increased from 37.55 to 44.60 after injection. And In PWV, E-R, E-L, H-R, H-L is significantly decreased after injection. Conclusions: Effect of Mountain Cultivated Ginseng Pharmacopuncture on Heart Rate Variability (HRV) increased adaptability of autonomic nervous system and on Pulse wave velocity (PWV) decreased arterial stiffness.
The measurement of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) using electrocardiogram (ECG) signals has been used to predict fatigue and stress levels in a clinical environment, yet, owing to the complexity of such ECG systems, a domestic, nonclinical monitoring of HRV has not been a practical possibility. Recently though, Pulse Rate Variability (PRV) has been studied as an alternative to HRV. In this study, we investigated the reliability of measuring PRV by means of a smartwatch. The PRV results were compared to HRV results in similar test conditions, i.e. those obtained under rapid and deep-breathing scenarios. From the results obtained, it transpires that the Bland-Altman ratio and cross-correlation coefficients between several PRV and HRV parameters were highly correlated, thus suggesting that the results of measuring PRV using a smartwatch can be used to predict HRV in nonclinical environments.

In this paper, an asynchronous multi-rate optical wireless pulse position modulation-code division multiple access (PPM-CDMA) is proposed for an indoor non-directed diffuse channel. As a signature sequence for CDMA, an optical orthogonal code (OOC) is used and an interference cancellation scheme is applied to improve the bit error rate. It is known that the optical PPM-CDMA has advantages due to its power efficiency. Moreover, it provides multi-rate services by varying the modulation level with fixed pulse duration. In the proposed multi-rate PPM-CDMA system with fixed pulse duration, chip rate and sampling time do not change for each transmission rate and this simplifies overall system structure.
The EDM processing characteristics of one of the nickel-based heat resistant alloys, Hastelloy- X, were investigated under the various EDM conditions and analyzed in terms of surface integrity. This alloy is commonly used as a material for the hot gas path component of gas turbines and it is difficult to machine by conventional machining methods. The primary EDM parameter which was varied in this study were the pulse-on time. Since the pulse-on time is one of the main factors that determines the intensity of the electrical discharge energy, it was expected that the machining ratio and the surface integrity of the specimens would be proportionally dependent on the pulse-on duration. However, experimental results showed that MRR (material removal rate) and EWR (electrode wear rate) behaved nonlinearly with respect to the pulse duration, whereas the morphological and metallurgical features showed rather a constant trend of change by the pulse duration. In addition the heat treating process affected the recast layer and HAZ to be recrystallized but softening occurred in recast layer only. A metallurgical evaluation of the microstructure for the altered material zone was also conducted.

We demonstrate a simple pulsed $CO_2$ laser with millisecond long pulse duration in a tube at a low pressure of less than 30 Torr. The novel power supply for our laser system switches the voltage of the AC power line (60Hz) directly. The power supply doesn't need elements such as a rectifier bridge, energy-storage capacitors, or a current-limiting resistor in the discharge circuit. To control the laser output power, the pulse repetition rate is adjusted up to 60Hz and the firing angle of SCR(Silicon Controlled Rectifier) gate is varied from 30。 to 150。. A ZCS (Zero Crossing Switch) circuit and a PIC one-chip microprocessor are used to control precisely the gate signal of the SCR. The maximum laser output of 35 W is obtained at a total pressure of 18 Torr, a pulse repetition rate of 60 Hz, and a SCR gate firing angle of 90。 . In addition, the resulting laser pulse width is approximately 3㎳(FWHM). This is a relatively long pulse width, compared with other repetitively pulsed $CO_2$ lasers.
