One 30-day feeding trial was conducted to examine the effects of dietary salt on seawater adaptability of rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss) fed three experimental diets containing 0% (control), 4% and 8% salt. The experimetal period included 30 days of feeding trial in freshwater, 3 days of the step by step seawater acclimation with-out feeding diets, and 21 more days of seawater adaptation period (not with all experimental fish) with feeding the basal diet. Growth rates from triplicate groups were determined fur 30 days of feeding trial. Blood samples were taken at the begining and at the end of feeding trial, and 3 times (on 1st, 4th and 8th day) of the seawater adaptation period. Daily survival rates of duplicate groups from three experimetal treatments were recorded for 21 days of the seawater adaptation period. Total average initial and final fish weight were $149.5{\pm}7.6\;and\;187.1{\pm}7.6g$. Feed efficiency of fish fed diets containing 4% and 8% salt were significantly better than those of fish fed the control diet. Average cumulative survival rates were 72, 80 and 88% from the control, 4% and 8% salt diets, respectively. Pulse rate per minutes decreased with dietary salt level. Serum $Na^+\;and\;Cl^-$ concentrations of fish fed 4% and 8% salt diets were significantly higher than those of fish fed the control diet (P<0.05), however, the concentrations were stabilized after 8 days of seawater adaptation. Serum cortisol, glucose, cholesterol and tryglyceride concentrations, and the osmorality of fish decreased with dietary salt level, these values were significantly lower than those of fish fed the control diet. These results indicated that the dietary supplementation of salt could have advantages for seawater adaptability of rainbow trout.
In this paper, we have investigated a fiber type active coupler which utilizes the mode coupling between the side polished single mode optical fiber and the active multimode planar waveguide. The proposed device can be used for not only tunable wavelength filter or optical intensity modulator but also a tool for measuring optical properties of guiding material such as refractive index, birefringence, electro-optic coefficient, and thermo-optic coefficient. We gave designed and optimized a coupler structure using the BPM and fabricated the device using thermo-optic polymer as active planar waveguide overlay. The device showed that insertion loss was less then 0.5 dB, extinction ratio was -13 dB at the resonance wavelength, and the wavelength tunablity due to thermo-optic effect was -1.5 nm/$^{\circ}C$. The active coupler using thermo-optic effect can be used as a wavelength tunable filer, an optical intensity modulator and an optical sensor. pulses that are subsequently compressed by a dispersive optical fiber. Experimental results show that $sech^2$ shape pulses with a pulse width of ~14 ps and a time bandwidth product of ~0.34 are successfully generated at 10 GHz repetition rate. In contrast to other methods, such as higher order soliton compression, this approach does not depend on the optical power and thus shows promise for application to low-power lasers.
High-power quasi-continuous-wave (qcw) operation in Yb-doped double-clad fiber lasers with near-diffraction-limited quality of the output beam is reported. Based on numerical simulation, we built a simple, all-fiberized Yb fiber laser, and a fiber-based master-oscillator power amplifier (MOPA). Both laser systems have successfully produced qcw output with average power greater than 150 W at 1080 nm and 10 ms pulse duration at 10 Hz repetition rate, corresponding to a peak power greater than 1.5 kW for 205 W of pump power at 976 nm. Laser performance, including beam quality and slope efficiency, was characterized in both configurations. Prospects for power scaling and applications are discussed.

A pulse-chase labeling of $^{15}N$ on winter rye (Scale cereale) and forage rape (Brassica napus) grown at $15^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$ was carried out to determine the effects of low temperature on the uptake exogenous N and the remobilization of endogenous N. The growth rate of leaves and roots depressed at $5^{\circ}C$. AAer 9 days at $5^{\circ}C$, nitrogen content of leaves decreased to 20% on the average while that of roots increased to 12% compared with the plants grown at $25^{\circ}C$. Total content of $NO_3$- uptake 60m medium was 23.0 and 43.5 mg Nlplant, respectively, for winter rye and forage rape grown at $5^{\circ}C$ during 9 days. These values were corresponded to 59.3 and 26.1% lower uptake than those of $25^{\circ}C$. A large part of 1 5 ~ was distributed into leaves throughout time course in both of two species. The content of $^{15}N$ in leaves of winter rye at day 6 increased to 166 and 296 $\mu^{15}$N/plant compared with the initial value (day 0) in the plants grown at $5^{\circ}C$and $25^{\circ}C$ , corresponding to 90 and 163 $\mu$g N of remobilization h m roots into leaves during the fist 6 days. From 7 to 9 days, 75 and 52 $\mu$gN of outflow 6om leaves were occurred at $5^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$. However, little remobilization of endogenous N was estimated in forage rape throughout the entire time course regardless of temperature treatment. Comparing two species studied, winter rye was much sensitively influenced by low temperature on the uptake of exogenous N and the remobilization of endogenous N.

In this paper, we propose a QAPM(Quadrature Amplitude Position Modulation) modulation using compressive sensing for the purpose of power efficiency improvement. QAPM modulation is a combination technique of QAM (quadrature amplitude modulation) and PPM(Pulse Position Modulation). Therefore it can decrease the transmission power and improve BER performance. Moreover, even if the band width is widened when the number of positions is increased, high sparsity characteristic caused by position number can be applied to compressive sensing technique. Compressive sensing has recently studied as a method that can be successfully reconstructed from the small number of measurements for sparse signal. Therefore, the proposed system can lower price of receiver by reducing sampling rate and has performance improved by using QAPM modulation. And the results are confirmed through simulations.
Maximal oxygen uptake was measured in twenty-eight middle-aged men aged 45.0 (range: 40.3-50.7) years and fourteen middle-aged women aged 40.5 (range: 34.3-47.5) years by means of a treadmill test. The physique of subjects were:mean skinfold thickness at 4 sites, namely, back, arm, waist and abdomen was 7.59 mm in men and 14.5 mm in women; total body fat estimated from the mean skinfold thickness, 11.9% fat in men and 25.5% fat in women. The detailed observations are as follows: 1. Maximal oxygen uptake expressed on any reference unit in men was greater than that of women. The values of men to women were: 2.61 to 1.92l/min., 45.1 to 37.0 ml/min./kg, 51.8 to 46.5 ml/min./kg lean body mass (LBM), 15.7 to 12.6 ml/min./cm body height. 2. Maximal pulmonary ventilation in men was 80.2 l/min. and 63.5 l/min. in women. 3. There was a correlation of fairly high degree between maximal oxygen uptake and body weight, namely, r=0.56 in men and r=0.79 in women. The correlation between maximal oxygen uptake and lean body mass also was fairly high, namely, r=0.58 in men and r=0.69 in women. 4. The correlation between maximal pulmonary ventilation and body weight or lean body mass was r=0.51 and r=0.25 in middle-aged men and r=0.41 and r=0.19 in middle-aged women, respectively. 5. Maximal heart rate in men was 176.4 beat/min. and it was 183.9 beat/min. in women. 6. Maximal oxygen pulse in men was 14.6 ml/beat and 9.5 ml/beat in women. 7. Aerobic work capacity of korean middle-aged men and women maintained the same level as that of young men and women, respectively, as shown by maximal oxygen uptake expressed ml/min./kg or ml/min./kg lean body mass.
The goal of this study was to analyze the effects of genistein, a widely used tyrosine kinase inhibitor, on cloned Shaw-type $K^+$ currents, Kv3.1 which were stably expressed in Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells, using the whole-cell configuration of patch-clamp techniques. In whole-cell recordings, genistein at external concentrations from 10 to $100{\mu}M$ accelerated the rate of inactivation of Kv3.1 currents, thereby concentration-dependently reducing the current at the end of depolarizing pulse with an $IC_{50}$ value of $15.71{\pm}0.67{\mu}M$ and a Hill coefficient of $3.28{\pm}0.35$ (n=5). The time constant of activation at a 300 ms depolarizing test pulses from -80 mV to +40 mV was $1.01{\pm}0.04$ ms and $0.90{\pm}0.05$ ms (n=9) under control conditions and in the presence of $20{\mu}M$ genistein, respectively, indicating that the activation kinetics was not significantly modified by genistein. Genistein $(20{\mu}M)$ slowed the deactivation of the tail current elicited upon repolarization to -40 mV, thus inducing a crossover phenomenon. These results suggest that drug unbinding is required before Kv3.1 channels can close. Genistein-induced block was voltage-dependent, increasing in the voltage range $(-20\'mV{\sim}0\'mV)$ for channel opening, suggesting an open channel interaction. Genistein $(20{\mu}M)$ produced use-dependent block of Kv3.1 at a stimulation frequency of 1 Hz. The voltage dependence of steady-state inactivation of Kv3.1 was not changed by $20{\mu}M$ genistein. Our results indicate that genistein blocks directly Kv3.1 currents in concentration-, voltage-, time-dependent manners and the action of genistein on Kv3.1 is independent of tyrosine kinase inhibition.

This study examined the effects of favorite music therapy on the anxiety and vital signs at each point in gynecologic surgery using the general anesthesia. The research design was a non-equivalent control group non-synchronized design. The data were collected from May 1 to July 30, 2013 and the participants were 44 patients (experimental group, 21, control group, 23) received music therapy while waiting for anesthetic induction and PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit). Repeated measures ANOVA was performed to analyze the data by SPSS 18.0. Music therapy reduced the anxiety level at inducing the anesthetic time, and awakening time (p=.003; p=.011). The systolic blood pressure maintained stability at discharge from the PACU (p=.023), and pulse rate was stable at the awakening time (p=.016). This findings support the use of music as a nursing intervention to reduce anxiety and maintain the vital signs for gynecologic surgery patients under general anesthesia.
Purpose: Most of the patients who underwent surgery feels variable kinds of fear or anxiety; an uncomfortable mood state that happens without specific object affects patient's satisfaction before and after the surgery. As music therapy is rather noninvasive method generally used in reducing patient's anxiety, the authors researched about the extent of anxiety with the change of vital sign before the operation while comparing with the cases of patients who took the music therapy at closed reduction under general anesthesia. Method: We divided the patients in 4 groups; A with the premedication (Midazolam, Dormicum$^{(R)}$) before the operation, B with the premedication and music therapy, C with only music therapy, D with no premedication or therapy. And we measured the vital signs after the arrival at the operation room, after induction and 20 minutes after the operation. Also we observed the changes of anxiety index with the STAI (State Trait Anxiety Inventory)-K (Korea)YZ 1 hour before and 8 hours after the surgery. Result: The group B showed the least changes in blood pressure as the group D showed the highest change. Both group C and A showed increase in blood pressure but the upswing in group A was lower than group C. At the change of pulse rate group B showed the lowest upswing also group D showing the highest. Group B showed quite a few upswing but lower than group D, but, at the same time, group A showed lower upswing when comparing two cases. After analysis of STAI-KYZ score, the anxiety relatively decreased in group B and C in comparison with group D. And the index of anxiety state of group A showed just as much to group D. Conclusion: The music therapy is better healthcare method compared to other therapies in reducing anxiety also with satisfying effect who underwent operation. The authors recommend music therapy assisted with use of premedication for better relief of anxiety.

The pattern identification of exterior-interior syndrome and cold-heat syndrome is one of the diagnostic methods using most frequently in Oriental medicine. There was no systematic studies analyzing the characteristics of the 'exterior-interior and cold-heat' between healthy and disease group. In this study, cold-heat pattern, blood pressure, pulse rate, height and weight are recorded from 100 healthy subjects and 196 disease subjects with age ranging from 30 to 59 years. To analyze the differences between healthy and disease group, we used the descriptive statistics. And linear regression function, linear support vector machine and bayesian classifier were used for distinguishing healthy group from disease group. The score of both exterior-heat and interior-cold in healthy group is higher than the score in disease group. This means that if one belongs to the disease group, his(or her) exterior gets cold and his interior gets hot. And also, these result have no relevance to age. But, the attempt to classify healthy group from disease group with a exterior-interior and cold-heat and other vital signs did not have good performance. It mean that even though they have a different trend each other, only these kinds of information couldn't classify healthy group and disease group.
