  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm that jointly estimates the location and velocity of a near-field moving target in a pulse radar system. The proposed algorithm estimates the location and velocity corresponding to the outcome of orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) in a 4-dimensional (4D) location-velocity space. To address the high computational complexity of 4D parameter joint estimation, we propose an algorithm that iteratively estimates the target's 2D location and velocity sequentially. Through simulations, we analyze the estimation performance and verify the computational efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

  • Range resolution is important performance parameter to distinguish a target accurately. The destination of modern radar systems, to overcome the limitations of existing analog radar systems, is to improve the range resolution of the distance with low transmission power. For that reason, the research on pulse compression techniques is briskly studying. In the Receiver, modulation system of transmitted signal which has used in pulse compression technique is divided PM and FM to distinguish a target. In this paper, We analysed and designed the pulse compression signal processing module using the Baker Code which is the one of PM method's.

  • The radar in the moving platform is interfered by the mainlobe clutter as well as the altitude clutter that is received from sidelobe. The altitude clutter is relatively short range compared to mainlobe clutter and therefore enters the radar with a strong signal. As these clutters are major reason making the probability of false alarm high, it is required to suppress both altitude clutter and mainlobe clutter. In this paper, It is proposed the clutter suppression method consisted of two pulse canceller to suppress the clutters being two frequency area in moving platform. It is analyzed the correlation of output signals according to the use of pulse canceller and provided the structure of staggered pulse canceller considered the correlation. Finally, it shows that altitude clutter and mainlobe clutter are suppressed by proposed staggered pulse canceller using the simulation.

  • This paper presents a 2 GHz pulse generator in balanced configuration for ground penetrating radar(GPR). In order to improve the input and output matching, the pulse generator is designed in balanced configuration with $90^{\circ}$ hybrid couplers. The designed pulse generator was fabricated using PCB process. The fabricated pulse generator draws 1 mA current from a 5 V power supply with 27.6 % efficiency. The measured output voltage swing is $3.7V_{pp}$ at 100 MHz pulse repetition frequency(PRF). The pulse width is 2 ns and the input and output return loss is more than 10 dB at the operating frequency of 1.7~2.6 GHz.

  • This paper presents the new development result of the multi-band, the multi-mode SDR(Software Defined Radar) platform. The SDR hardware platform is implemented by using the reconfigurable multi-band RF transceiver and antenna modules of S, X, and K-bands, and a programmable signal processing module. The SDR software platform is implemented by using the multi-mode waveform generation of CW, Pulse, FMCW, and LFM Chirp as well as the adaptable algorithm library of signal processing and open API software modules. Through the integrated test of the SDR platform, the operational performance was verified in real-time. Also, through the field-application test, the ground target and air-vehicle drone target were successfully detected and their test results were presented.

  • Generally, a radar signal is modulated and transmitted in order to avoid signal detection. In electronic warfare, the specification of a radar is recognized by analysing the received radar pulses. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to recognize the PRI (Pulse Repetition Interval) type of radar signals. This algorithm uses the autocorrelation technique applying different comparison ranges according to the PRI type. It applies a short comparison window to stable and staggered PRI, and a relatively large comparison range to jittered PRI. The experiment shows that the proposed algorithm can discriminate the PRI type of radar pulses correctly. For the more, it can find out the stagger level of staggered type of radar signals.

  • In this paper, we analysed a performance signal to noise ratio about pulse, integration coherent, and integration non coherent system in radar system. It compared existing with proposal method in order to estimation two target direction of arrival. Generally, radar system radiate pulse wave in order to decreasing distortion of return wave and transmission wave. We analysed the performance integration coherent and integration non coherent. Integration coherent is processing system before doing envelop detection, and integration non coherent is processing system after doing envelop detection. Through simulation, we analysed a performance signal to noise ratio to estimation two target range detection and estimated target direction of arrival. We showed that integration coherent system is the most good performance.

  • Intelligent vehicles are equipped with radar sensors for collision avoidance. We present a method of suppressing mutual interference among pulse-type radars, where all the radars are standardized. We developed a method of separating the true self-reflection from the false one by controlling the pulse emission of a radar in anorhogonal ON, OFF pattern. Interference signal identified in OFF-intervals is recorded to indicate the positions of the expected ghosts in ON-intervals. PFA and PM are derived for a radar system with I-Q demodulation scheme, where Gaussian noise alone is Rayleigh-distributed and Gaussian noise plus reflected radar pulse are Rician-distributed. The value of the threshold adaptively updated in order to prevent the deterioration of PM. In the experimental result, PFA decreases by an order of 10,000, when compared with the conventional M of N majority voting method.

  • This paper introduces the design and implementation of a signal processing system for an airborne active homing radar system. This airborne active homing radar system uses the pulse Doppler radar of high PRF (Pulse Repetition Frequency) for computation of exact relative velocity of the target. This system carries out two operations mainly. The first is to transmit and receive microwave signal through the antenna. The second is to calculate the relative velocity of the target taking advantage of the Doppler frequency signal reflected from the target and detect the angle error between a target and an antenna LOS (Line Of Sight) to make the antenna direction coincident with the target. The signal processing system has a role of the latter.
