As a result of continuous taxonomic investigations of Korean crabs, Pugettia intermedia Sakai, 1938 is newly reported from Korean waters. Pugettia intermedia had previously been reported in Korean fauna, but the previous reports of P. intermedia were resulted in misidentification of P. quadridens (De Haan, 1839). Pugettia intermedia differs from P. quadridens in having two subequal medial lobes of the first pleopod in male. In P. quadridens, one of the two medial lobes is about half-length of the other. Pugettia intermedia occurs on the southern coast of the Korean peninsula. The descriptions and illustrations of this species are provided herein.

실험실에서 물맞이게 속의 3종, 뿔물맞이게(Pugettia quadridens quadridens), P. marissinica, 중간뿔물맞이게(P. quadridens intermedia)로 부터 메갈로파 유생을 얻었다. 이들 3종의 메갈로파 유생을 상세히 기재 및 도시하고 이미 보고된 Epialtinae아과 다른 종의 메갈로파 유생들과 그 형태적 특징을 비교하였다. P. marissinica는 2종, 중간뿔물맞이게 와 뿔물맞이게의 유생들과 그 특징에서 상당히 큰 차이를 보여 서로 다른 종임을 알 수 있었으나, 중간뿔물맞이게 와 뿔물맞이겐느 형태적으로 매우 유사하였다. 따라서, 중간뿔물맞이게를 종수준으로 간주한 Griffin과 Tranter(1986)의 제안보다 오히려 뿔물맞이게의 아종수준으로 간주한 Sakai(1938, 1976)의 제안이 타당하다고 사료된다.

거제도의 십각류상을 밝히기 위한 분류학적 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과 28과 79종이 동정되었으며, 이 가운데 새우류 9종, 집게류 7종, 게류 39종이 거제도의 십각류상에 추가되었다. 과거기록을 포함하여 총 93종의 분류목록을 마련하였으며, 기재없이 기록만 있었던 중간뿔물맞이게 (Pugettia quadridens intermedia Sakai, 1983)를 재기재 하였다. 또한 게류 64종의 분포형과 종의 출현양상을 근거로 거제도의 동물지리적 양상을 논하였다.

The occurrence variations of decapods by season and depth off Oryuk Islets, Busan were investigated at seven stations in April and October 2009, July 2010 and January 2011. Decapods were collected by SCUBA diving at 5 m and 10 m depths. 46 species belonging to 18 families in 3 orders were identified. Pilumnus minutus, Pugettia intermedia, Pachycheles stevensii, and Paguristes japonicus were dominant species, comprising 73.0% of total decapods. P. minutus and P. intermedia were abundant in all seasons (except summer) while P. stevensii and P. japonicus were abundant in fall and summer. Dominant species were divided into three groups (resident species, seasonal species and temporary species) on the basis of their occurrence patterns. P. minutus and P. intermedia were resident species while P. stevensii, P. japonicus were temporary species. The species number, density and biomass of decapods were fluctuated by seasons. They were highest in fall and lowest in winter. This study implied that the variations of species number and density of decapods were significantly related with seasonal change of water temperature.
