공개공지 주요 설계요소 제어에 의한 보행자의 심리적 평가 (부산광역시 센텀지역 및 서면지역 공개공지를 중심으로) (A Study on Pedestrian's Psychological Estimation by Control of Main Design Factors in the Public Open Space (Focused on the Public Open Space of Centum and Seomyeon in Pusan))

  • 도시의 쾌적한 공간조성을 통하여 도시공간의 질과 공공성을 높이기 위해 도입된 공개공지는 건축법, 지구단위계획에 의해 법제화되었다. 그러나 현행 제도는 공개공지 조성에 있어 필요한 최소한의 규정에 지나치지 않아 공개공지 본연의 기능을 다하지 못하고 공공성의결여, 설치 및 유지 관리상의 문제 등 여러 가지 문제점을 나타내었고 이용자 만족도와 활용도를 높여 도시공간의 공공성을 높이는 공개공지 조성의 필요성이 대두되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 인자분석을 통하여 공개공지 주요 설계요소 어떤 인자가 가장 큰 영향을 미치는지를 분석하여 현 공개공지의 개선방안 제시 및 향후 공개공지 설치기준 설정을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 현 공개공지 문제점을 해결하고 보다 개선된 공개공지 조성을 위하여 설문조사를 통하여 선별된 주요 설계요소를 제어 시뮬레이션하고. 심리적 평가와 인자분석을 실시한 결과 편의성, 친근성, 쾌적성, 접근성, 개방성의 5개 인자가 추출되었다. 이 중 제1인자인 편의성의 설명력이 기여율 25.0%로 가장 높게 나타났으며, 편의성 측면을 향상 시킬 수 있는 공개공지의 대지 내 위치, 편의시설의 설치 및 적절한 배치, 공개공지 접도유형이 주요 설계요소임을 인식하고 계획 및 설계시 반영하여야 할 것으로 판단된다. 또한 앞으로 이런 요인을 들을 반영하기 위해서는 건축법의 상세한 법적 기준 설정과 지구단위계획에서 세부지침 등이 상세하게 다루어져야 할 것이다. 최근 공개공지와 관련된 연구와 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 공개공지를 설계하고, 유지 관리한다면 공개공지 활용도를 높이고 도시공간의 공공성을 향상시킬 수 있는 것으로 기대된다.

공동주택단지의 범죄 예방 설계를 위한 평가방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on Evaluation Method of CPTED in Multi-Family Housing)

  • This study aims to make evaluation method as a means to evaluate the crime prevention through environmental design of multi-family housing. According to the analysis of correctness and usefulness of evaluation method in multi-family housing, the preliminary evaluation method is selected. The correctness and usefulness of evaluation method is examined by 2 works. One is analyzing the results of experts' advice about evaluation method. The other is analyzing the results of the case studies of 3 housing sites. Those improve evaluation method to measure the crime prevention through environmental design objectively. As a result, the system of classification is divided into evaluation area and evaluation item. Evaluation area is sorted into four types, i.e. public space, semi-public space, semi-private space, and equipment. Evaluation scores according to evaluation area are different. Evaluation scores of public space are 73. Those of semipublic space are 196. Those of semi-private space are 75, Those of equipment are 28. Evaluation item is divided into 20 items. 20 items are; the entrance of complex, apartment building, recreational space and parking space etc. Checklists according to evaluation items are proposed and detail evaluation criteria according to checklist are proposed.

Investigating the Relationship Between Accessibility of Green Space and Adult Obesity Rates: A Secondary Data Analysis in the United States

  • Objectives: In spite of the importance of green space for reducing obesity-related problems, there has been little exploration of whether access to green space (e.g., parks and recreational facilities) influences the obesity rate of adults in the United States. The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationships among accessibility of green space, obesity rates, and socioeconomic and demographic variables among adults living in the State of Indiana, United States. Methods: We conducted a secondary data analysis to investigate the relationships among accessibility to green space, obesity rates, and socio-demographic variables with employing Geographic Information System in order to measure the accessibility of green space. Results: This study found that accessibility of green space served as a strong predictor of reduced obesity rates among adults (β=-2.478; p<0.10). In addition, adults with higher education levels, as well as better access to green space, were found to have even lower obesity rates (β=-0.188; p<0.05). Other control variables such as unemployment rates, food security, and physical inactivity are additional factors that influence obesity rates among adults. Conclusions: Accessibility of green space may play an important role in facilitating physical activity participation and reducing obesity rates.

도심 복합상업시설 공용공간의 보행자 지원적 환경계획에 관한 연구 (A Study on Environmental Plan To Support Pedestrians in Public Space of Urban Mixed-use Commercial Facilities)

  • Recently, urban mixed-use commercial facilities have been required to raise a safe environment in public areas. So, this study focuses on analyze planning factors selected through the precedent research for Pedestrian safety and environment of urban mixed-use commercial facilities. The first purpose of this study is to analyse the applicative estimation of environmental plan to support pedestrians in public space of urban mixed-use commercial facilities in Seoul. And the second purpose of this study is to propose the directions of environmental planning for creating a pedestrian-friendly environment in public space of urban mixed-use commercial facilities. In order to accomplish this purpose, the environmental planning factors for supporting pedestrians and guidelines for disabled shown in the precedent studies are drawn. A survey of research subjects are 4 urban mixed-use commercial facilities located in downtown Seoul. And then a questionnaire survey is performed on architecture and interior design students to evaluate the importance. As a result of the study, the following conclusion are drawn. The pedestrian-friendly environment in urban mixed-use commercial facilities requires planning to strengthen accessibility, supporting and safety of public space.

  • The purpose of this study was verified the effect of analyzed emotional factors and compare with competed design proposals of G and D public exhibition to plan the public exhibition applied emotional marketing which strengthen the effect with touching the emotion. The results are first, public consumer preferred to experience 5 senses and gives a positive effect, second, preference according to factor of scene gives differences by ages, but various ages preferred to experience the factor of scene, third the result of analyze the relation between preference of scene and 3 groups of 5 senses, which is high, middle, and low preferred had significant relation, and fourth, public consumer preferred to several levels of exhibition than only one level, the space preferred was 'experiencing' space.

아파트 주동 공용공간 구성요소의 선호도 분석 (A Study on the Preferences about Component Elements of Public Space in Apartment Housing)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the preferences about component elements of Public Space of apartment housing in Daegu. This study is based on the survey of thirty nine apartment complex in seventeen construction companies to create images and component elements types. Also, by using an questionnaire analysis derived from a precedent study, component elements in the porch and interior common space of apartment residents are comprehended. The survey analysis of the porch is researched and divided according to a form of porch, designs and lights of ceiling. Interior common space is analyzed by several elements; forms of core, designs and lights of ceiling, design of walls and floors, necessity of windows, and necessity of public facilities. The questionnaire is composed of 40 items and it was returned by one hundred sixty two respondents. As a result of the study, After the enforcement of price deregulation, the porch and interior common space of apartments has had improved quality. However, by questionnaire survey of respondents showed preferences of each element and necessary facilities. Thus, i hope that this study is an excellent source for apartment design.

  • Popular culture in modem society is that research is to understand the lives of the public. Since post-modem ism, in a clear perspective of the rapidly developing modern society, and the appearance of various societies have been drawn. Of the phenomenon is playing a large role in the admission of the public can see this was: strange places for the properties in the popular culture to analyze and find the meaning makes carry through their own perspective. It also dominates the field of spatial design for the public to understand cultural perspectives and positions should be aware of the importance of thinking. The relationship between spatial design and popular culture, modern society has become an essential point is changed popular culture that has more space, the design characteristics of the new changes will affect their position. In this study, playing a large role in the modern of culture properties, spatial design, looking at areas of social and cultural positions that are clearly focused. Therefore, the cultural phenomenon here in the popular culture of the design characteristics of the space, according to the visual design direction of modern society present in the space is presented.

  • The development technology is not brought out the change of life style but space. According to the development technology, it is comes to an age of Ubiquitous computing that make the possible intelligent space. Space in public library, too, is necessarily changed according to introduce Ubiquitous technology. This change of space give a benefits to user in public library. Therefore finding solutions for user-centered space in public library is the purpose of this study as making it intelligently and sufficiently.

  • The purpose of this study is, According to society changing fast, human life is changing in the direction of complexity and variety, the middle class and multiple structure have been generated in relation between architecture and function. Accordingly, considering the analyzed elements of the main floor space planning and relation of the factors in space planning of Seoul s public libraries. The Public Library is variety of function is abstracted to the plan for Space Composition Form from future public library, analysis of “This point of user, how to composition is the space of different function” and “How to is the connection between the educational function and the other function, complexity of space.” With above distinctive themes and the research, the typology of public library in seoul city, At the first, the research shows that the public library is 8 type, and high in typology of “TYPE 7 (A3-B2-Cl)”. Secondary, There appears public library, such as in the satisfaction of the One-Function-User is high in “TYPE 3 (A1-B2-C3)”, in the satisfaction over the Two-Function-User is high in “TYPE 6 (A3-B1-C1)”

Analysis of visual preferences and image features of the floral design in the urban public space

  • In this study, the preferences with regard to floral design in a public space and the correlation between such preferences and the image features of the floral design types were identified. Based on the review of the related literature, the floral designs placed in a public space were classified into three types(the flower bed, container, and three-dimensional sculpture types) according to physical factors, and were classified into two types(the indoor and outdoor types) according to environmental factors. In the floral-design type classified by physical and environmental factors, the flower bed and outdoor types, respectively, were highly preferred. The factor that was found to have the greatest influence on the preference for the flower bed type was 'well-orderedness', which included the adjective categories 'harmonious', 'clean', and 'simple'; that which was found to have the greatest influence on the preference for the outdoor-type floral design was 'identity', which included the adjective categories 'symbolic', 'distinctive', 'harmonious', 'impressive', and 'clean'. It can thus be concluded that the plants that are effectively displayed in a public space can express the nature and identity of the city itself, can be a yardstick for giving value to the city and for evaluating it, and can be important components of the urban landscape. A design that is suitable for the purpose of each public space and that reflects the factors that exert an influence on the users' floral-design type preference should thus be developed.
