미술관의 해석과 소통의 모색 (Exploring Practices of Interpretation and Communication in Art Museums)

  • This study examined the role of interpretation with various practices in art museums to seek a new meaning and a concept of art museum today. The exploration of interpretation would he a starting point to discuss about on art museums with professionals in each art-related field. While museums recognize the concept of interpretation and the scope of the functions in different levels, the study focused on the practices of collecting and exhibiting that will entrust the museum new realms of activities toward the audience. In particular, its emphases are set force on the information on the collections via the museum's web sites, interpretation policies, and theories and methodologies in exhibition development. Art museum websites well reflect how museums utilize the new medium to enhance the understanding of art works by providing in-depth art historical information, comprehensive contexts, and subject/concept based search methods. In recent decades, these have enacted changes to expand dimensions of interpretive functions in most museums, particularly in the United States and others. In an administrative perspective, Tate Gallery Interpretation Policy became an good example how an art museum put its interpretation philosophy as the basis of interpreting collection and public programs. Tate established functions of intrepretation and education not only within a task-based team but also as an intrer-divisional coorperation to provide an interpretation scheme of information provisions such as guide brochure, audio tour, multimedia content, and library. New environment and trends of museum exhibition, and its development processes stem from communication theories, object interpretation philosophy, display strategies, and various evaluation techniques through audiences, with the communication theories of Shannon and Weaver, Berlo's SMCR(Source-Message-Channel-Receiver) models were perceived as to understand the mechanism to communicate museum exhibits to visitors Suzan vogel's insight into object display strategy helped to conceive the mechanism of object recontextualization. She emphasized that the museum's practice to construe opinions and impressions through object display should be discreet and critical, therefore, the professionals to plan the exhibition should reveal the intention and their practices. For a prevailing new methodology from the field, the interpretive exhibition development processes are articulated as the front-end, formative, and summative evaluation, futhermore the team process in industrial product management models was adapted. These have turned out to be more interactive with visitors and effective to communicate the exhibition concepts and messages, hence resulting in enriched museum experiences. Finally the study concluded that understanding the aspects of interpretation should help art museums to set a framework for current practices to expand its public dimension. It can provide curators with a critical view to website planning and its content. And obviously, the interpretive exhibition development methodology will lead museum exhibition developers to be skilled in its current approaches to thematic exhibition concerning diverse subjects and topics.

커뮤니케이션을 지원하는 도서관가구에 관한 연구 (A Study on Library Furniture to support Communication Channel)

  • Library is a communication channel between book and human. Specially public library furniture plays an important role from every aspect in information materials and users, among users and in relationship between library managers and users. This study defined library furniture as a communication channel which connects library materials and users and was based on 35 local libraries and 12 overseas libraries. The author studied major elements and characteristics which constitute communication types among storage furniture, furniture in reading areas and furniture in digital reading area. The followings are the results from the study. First, storage furniture should be designed by reflecting characteristics of library materials and for effective delivering to the users. Therefore utmost communication can be made by searching for various designs in book-shelves and effective manner of display. Secondly, furniture in reading areas should support various users' needs from customized browsing to long hour studying and there should be properly supported for private space and correspondent reading postures. The third, there are needs for design conditions to support privacy and for comfort from long hour reading and mobility out of posture change in digital reading areas. The fourth, there should be ergonomically designed furniture plan and surroundings in public library which can boost various reading postures. Also furniture plan should be done by considering users' bodies and eyes orientations which can result in improved power of concentration.

온라인 서어비스의 이용자 접속 디자인 (User Interface Design in Online Services)

  • The study is to assist system developers or designers who are participated in the design of the user-computer interface on online services such as Online Public Access Catalogue and Online Search-ins. To design the optimal user interface, system developers and designers should try to complete the following process orderly: 1) they should know and understand the active and potential user's information seeking behaviors concerning online services in details as possible. 2) they should design the conceptional user model on basis of that knowledge. 3)They should design the logical and hierachical computer model adaptable to the current environment. 4) they should design the display of the computer terminal which is ease to learn and use by the users. 5) finally, they should design the optimal and practical user inter-face on basis of the above 2, 3, and 4.

  • 현재까지 디지털 디스플레이 시스템은 단순영상의 시연용, 감상용, 전시용 시스템이 대부분이며 음악과 움직이는 풍경으로 인해 색다른 영상작품으로 재해석되어 보여 질 수 있으며 사용자의 감수성을 자극한다는 장점을 가지고 있지만 개발된 시스템의 활용범위가 작고, 쉽게 흥미를 잃을 수 있는 시기성을 가진다는 단점이 있어 지속적인 사용자의 인터랙션을 유도할 수 있는 시스템이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서 제안한 RSS기반 디지털 병풍 시스템은 사용자의 단순 감상용으로 활용하던 기존의 8폭 병풍의 한계를 극복하여 사용자가 직접 참여하고 체험할 수 있는 환경을 제공하고 필요한 정보를 효과적으로 획득 할 수 있는 인터랙티브 미디어 시스템으로써 의 활용을 목적으로 구현되었다. 본 시스템은 블로그나 사이트를 직접 방문하지 않아도 새로 등록된 글을 수집해 읽을 수 있는 RSS의 주된 기능을 적용하여 실시간으로 필요한 정보를 사용자의 의도에 맞게 전달 할 수 있어 평상시에는 관상용으로 콘텐츠를 감상할 수 있고, 필요에 따라 광고나 전시용으로 활용이 가능하며, 공공장소의 정보전달시스템으로도 사용가능한 장점을 가지고 있다.

DCT 학습을 융합한 RRU-Net 기반 이미지 스플라이싱 위조 영역 탐지 모델 (A DCT Learning Combined RRU-Net for the Image Splicing Forgery Detection)

  • This paper proposes a lightweight deep learning network for detecting an image splicing forgery. The research on image forgery detection using CNN, a deep learning network, and research on detecting and localizing forgery in pixel units are in progress. Among them, CAT-Net, which learns the discrete cosine transform coefficients of images together with images, was released in 2022. The DCT coefficients presented by CAT-Net are combined with the JPEG artifact learning module and the backbone model as pre-learning, and the weights are fixed. The dataset used for pre-training is not included in the public dataset, and the backbone model has a relatively large number of network parameters, which causes overfitting in a small dataset, hindering generalization performance. In this paper, this learning module is designed to learn the characterization depending on the DCT domain in real-time during network training without pre-training. The DCT RRU-Net proposed in this paper is a network that combines RRU-Net which detects forgery by learning only images and JPEG artifact learning module. It is confirmed that the network parameters are less than those of CAT-Net, the detection performance of forgery is better than that of RRU-Net, and the generalization performance for various datasets improves through the network architecture and training method of DCT RRU-Net.

과정접근적 순수미술 전시가 관람자의 관심도와 감상력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Impact of a Process approach to Fine Art Exhibit Design on Visitor Interest and Appreciation)

  • Increasing interest and providing educational experience for the public have long been a major ARt Museum goal. This interest raises the question of how visitors respond to museum exhibits. Much researches have been done which indicate the newer and more interactive exhibits are indeed more didactic and enjoyable than conventional exhibits. This study examined the effectiveness of art exhibits which display information about the creative process of developing a work art along with the final work of art to test if they results in more viewer interest and greater appreciation of the final work of art than those which display only the final work of art. In the early part of the 1991 spring, a counterblancing AB/BA quasi-experiment was carried out in the Jhnson Museum of Art, Cornell University. Methods used to collect and measure visitory interest and appreciation were unobtrusive observation and survey questionnaire. As the indirect measurement of visitor interest, attracting power and holding power were measured by unobstrusive observation of visitor time spent, while the direct measurement of visitor interest and appreciation, visitor's interest, understanding , and degree of favorableness were measured by survey questinnaire. Data analysis reached conclusion that the process approach fine art exhibit designs significantly resulted in more viewer interest and greater appreciation of art work than the conventional fine art exhibit design.

Comparative Analysis of Speech Recognition Open API Error Rate

  • Speech recognition technology refers to a technology in which a computer interprets the speech language spoken by a person and converts the contents into text data. This technology has recently been combined with artificial intelligence and has been used in various fields such as smartphones, set-top boxes, and smart TVs. Examples include Google Assistant, Google Home, Samsung's Bixby, Apple's Siri and SK's NUGU. Google and Daum Kakao offer free open APIs for speech recognition technologies. This paper selects three APIs that are free to use by ordinary users, and compares each recognition rate according to the three types. First, the recognition rate of "numbers" and secondly, the recognition rate of "Ga Na Da Hangul" are conducted, and finally, the experiment is conducted with the complete sentence that the author uses the most. All experiments use real voice as input through a computer microphone. Through the three experiments and results, we hope that the general public will be able to identify differences in recognition rates according to the applications currently available, helping to select APIs suitable for specific application purposes.

  • Holography is a human-friendly technology that can express 3D stereoscopic information without eye fatigue. You can experience the mysterious features of light directly and indirectly, and you can also experience the principles of 3D imaging, which makes it a very good curriculum. As such, although holography is very effective in teaching students optics and 3D imaging technology, it has not yet been systematically established. The reason is the cost burden such as expensive equipment and laboratories, and the lack of easily accessible educational equipment. We implemented a portable holographic recording system to solve this problem. In addition, since silver halides, which use harmful chemicals, are not used in the process of developing the recording medium, and photopolymers are used, it is possible to educate not only the general public but also young students. In order to improve the completeness of the recorded result, the mechanism part, light source, and recording medium part of the production system were newly constructed to complement all the existing problems. The proposed system will make holography easily accessible to many people in a variety of fields, not just education. Through the interesting experience of various features and principles of light and the production of holograms with high satisfaction, we hope to popularize them in various fields such as education.

공공도서관 모바일 웹 접근성 평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Evaluation of the Mobile Web Accessibility of Public Library Services)

  • 본 연구는 공공도서관 모바일 웹의 접근성 현황을 파악하고 이에 대한 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 모바일 앱과 웹 지침에 따라 접근성 체크리스트를 도출하고, 자동평가와 수동평가를 통해 접근성 현황을 조사하였다. 연구결과, 대체텍스트는 검색결과 도서 이미지 안내, 메인메뉴, 텍스트 대신 이미지 제공에서 가장 많이 미준수 현황을 보였으며, 초점은 검색 및 검색결과에서, 운영체제 접근성은 검색어 입력창 레이블 및 아이디, 패스워드 입력창에서, 색에 무관한 인식은 좌석현황 및 도서관일정, 명도대비는 메인메뉴 및 서지사항에서, 컨트롤 간 충분한 간격은 자료검색 필드 간 간격 및 메인검색창에서 미준수 현황이 주로 나타났다. 이와 함께 연구결과로 모바일 도서관 주요 서비스별로 정리하여, 향후 도서관 모바일 웹 서비스 구축에 활용하고자 하였다.

북큐레이션을 통한 테마 컬렉션의 구축과 운영에 관한 연구 - 공공도서관 담당자의 심층면담을 통해 - (A Study on the Construction and Operation of Theme Collections through Book Curation: In-depth Interview with Public Librarians)

  • 본 연구는 도서관에서 이루어지는 테마 컬렉션의 개념을 정립하고, 테마 컬렉션 운영의 실제를 밝혀 향후 테마 컬렉션 구축과 운영을 위한 방법론 설정 및 향후 발전을 위한 시사점을 제공하고자 하는 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 서울 경기지역 공공도서관 네 곳의 관장 및 테마 컬렉션 담당 사서 총 12명을 대상으로 심층면담을 수행하였다. 분석의 결과, 테마 컬렉션은 자관의 장서와 이용자 및 커뮤니티에 대해 충실하게 이해하고, 자관의 서비스 목표와 지향을 공유한 상태에서 제대로 구축되고 기능할 수 있음을 밝혔다. 또한 테마 컬렉션 구축 업무는 사서 개인의 정체성 확립에 기여하는 면이 있으며, 기존의 도서관 업무 경계를 넘나드는 상호 연계된 성격을 지녔음을 파악하였다. 마지막으로 테마 컬렉션 구축 및 운영을 위해서 참조할 수 있는 현행 테마 컬렉션의 종합적인 모형을 제시하고 이의 의의와 향후 과제를 논하였다.
