  • The (Sr$_{1-x}$ Ca$_{x}$) thin films ale deposited OR Pt-Coated electrode(Pt/TiN/SiO$_2$/Si) using RF sputtering method with substitutional contents of Ca. The maximum grain of thin films is obtained at SCT15 thin film. The dielectric constant was increased with increasing the substitutional contents of Ca, while it was decreased if the substitutional contents of Ca exceeded over 15[mol%]. The temperature properties of the dielectric loss have a stable value within 2% independent of the substitutional contents of Ca.Ca.

  • The SrBi$_2$Ta$_2$O$\sub$9/(SBT) thin films are deposited on Pt-coated electrode(Pt/TiO$_2$/SiO$_2$/Si) using RF sputtering method. The SBT thin films deposited on substrate at 400-500[$^{\circ}C$]. SBT thin film deposited on Pt-coated electrodes have the cubic perovskite structure and polycrystalline state. With increasing annealing temperature from 600[$^{\circ}C$] to 850[$^{\circ}C$], flourite Phase was crystalized to 650[$^{\circ}C$] and Bi-layered perovskite phase was crystalized above 700[$^{\circ}C$]. The maximum remanent polarization is 11.73 ${\mu}$C/cm$^2$at 500[$^{\circ}C$] of substrate temperature and 750[$^{\circ}C$] annealing temperature for 30min.

  • The a-axis and c-axis prefer oriented SBT thin films could be deposited on Pt(111)/Ti/$SiO_2$$650^{\circ}C$). The c-axis preferred orientation of SBT film can be obtained by Sr deficiency and high compressive stress. However, the a-axis-oriented grains can be formed under stoichiometric Sr content and nearly stress-free state.

  • All solid state thin film micro-batteries consisting of lithium metal anode, an amorphous LiPON electrolyte and cathode of vanadium oxide have been fabricated and characterized, which were fabricated with cell structure of Li/LiPON/V$_2$O$\sub$5/Pt. The vanadium oxide thin films were formed by d.c. reactive sputtering on Pt current collector. After deposition of vanadium oxide films, in-situ growths of lithium phosphorus oxynitride film were conducted by r.f. sputtering of Li$_3$PO$_4$ target in mixture gas of N$_2$ and O$_2$. The pure metal lithium film was deposited by thermal evaporation on thin film LiPON electrolyte. The cell capacity was about 45${\mu}$Ah/$\textrm{cm}^2$ $\mu\textrm{m}$ after 200 cycle. No appreciable degradation of the cell capacity could be observed after 50 cycles .

  • The SBN thin films are deposited on Pt-coated electrode(Pt/Ti/$SiO_2$/Si) using RF sputtering method at various deposition conditions. The capacitance of SBN thin films were increased with the increase of Ar/$O_2$ ratio and RF power, respectively. Also, The capacitance of SBN thin films were increased with the increase of deposition temperature.

  • Electroless plating is influenced by kinds of parameters including concentrations of electrolyte, plating time, temperature and so on. In this study, the Pt thin films were prepared on GaAs substrate by a 2-step electroless plating depending method. The small Pt catalytic particles by using Pt I bath exhibited islands-morphology dispersed throughout the substrate surface at $65^{\circ}C$, as function as a sensitized thin film, and then a thicker Pt film grew upon the sensitized layer by the second Pt II bath. As the growth of Pt film is strongly influenced by the plating time and temperature, the plating time of Pt II bath varied from 5 min to 40 min at $60{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ after Pt I bath at $60{\sim}80^{\circ}C$ for 5 min. It is found that the film grows with the increasing plating time and temperature. The resistivity value of Pt deposited layer was characterized to study the growth mechanism of 2-step plating.

Fabrication of (PDDA/SiO2) Thin Film by an Applying Voltage Layer-By-Layer Self Assembly Method (전압인가 LBL법을 이용한 (PDDA/SiO2) 박막 제조)

  • (PDDA/$SiO_2$) thin films that consisted of positively charged poly (diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) and negatively charged $SiO_2$ nanoparticles were fabricated on a glass substrate by an applying voltage layer-by-layer (LBL) self-assembly method. In this study, the microstructure and optical properties of the (PDDA/$SiO_2$) thin films coated on glass substrate were measured as a function of the applied voltage on the Pt electrodes. When 1.0 V was applied to a Pt electrode in a PDDA and $SiO_2$ solution, the thickness of the $(PDDA/SiO_2)_{10}$ thin film increased from 79 nm to 166 nm. The surface roughness also increased from 15.21 nm to 33.25 nm because the adsorption volume of the oppositely charged PDDA and $SiO_2$ solution increased. Especially, when the voltage was applied to the Pt electrode in the $SiO_2$ solution, the thickness increase of the (PDDA/$SiO_2$) thin film was larger than that obtained when using the PDDA solution. The refractive index of the fabricated (PDDA/$SiO_2$) thin film was ca. n = 1.31~1.32. The transmittance of the glass substrate coated by (PDDA/$SiO_2$)6 thin film with a thickness of 106 nm increased from ca. 91.37 to 95.74% in the visible range.

The fatigue characteristics of SBT thin films deposited on Pt/TiO$_2$/SiO$_2$/Si substrate did not change up to 10$\^$10/ switching cycles.

  • The ferroelectric properties of PZT(53/47) thin film was investigated by methoxy enthanol solution based on sol-gel method. The thickness of each layer by spincoating 0.25M sol at one time was $0.1{\mu}m$ and crack-free film was formed. $LaNiO_3/Si(100)$ electrode and $Pt/Ti/SiO_2/Si(100)$ electrode was coated by PZT sol at several times. PZT orientation was confirmed as a method of XRD and coercive field(Ec) as well as remnant polarization(Pr) was investigated from hysterisis curve. As a result of XRD analysis, we can know that the orientation of on PZT/LNO/Si(100) is better than on $Pt/Ti/SiO_2/Si(100)$. The remnant polarization(Pr) in LNO electrode was $87.5{\mu}C/cm^2$ and $39.8{\mu}C/cm^2$ in Pt. From this figures, it is investigated that the Pr in LNO electrode was better than in Pt.
