  • Purpose: The study has been conducted to identify factors affecting the participation in leisure activities by elderly women living alone. Methods: Data were collected through a questionnaire survey among 150 elderly women in Seoul and Gyeong-gi Province. The measurement tools that were used include participation in leisure activities, perceived health status, Geriatric Depression Scale Short Form-Korea (GDSS-K), psychological well-being scale, and loneliness scale. The data were analyzed by using the Pearson correlation coefficients, t-test, analysis of variance ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression with the SPSS/windows version 21.0 program. Results: The analysis shows that the affection for participation in leisure activities of the elderly women living alone who participated in the questionnaire survey is significant (F=14.6, p<.001). The value of the adjusted $R^2$ is 0.55, which accounts for the explanatory power of 55.4%. The predictor that has been found to have the greatest influence on the participation in leisure activities by the elderly women living alone include perceived health status, followed by monthly allowance (10,000 won), psychological well-being, economic status, religion, depression, family structure, and loneliness. Conclusion: The results suggest that in developing nursing interventions and practice for the participation in leisure activities by elderly women living alone, perceived health status, psychological well-being, depression, and loneliness should be considered.

  • As fast-speed of aging in modern society has led to increased concern for aging and health improvement of senior citizens, desire about having healthy living-environment has also increased. Living space for senior citizens has to play role of healing for their body feature as well as decrease in mental and psychological function. Color, as important factor that supplements degenerated sense and coping ability caused by aging, it has been revealed through modern medical science that color is effective for making nervous or calming down when it is delivered to one's nerve through sight. The purpose of this study is to suggest basic resource for color arrangement palette of living space and application method by color therapy to improve seniors' mental health by considering psychological and physical features caused by aging. First, consider psychological and physical feature of seniors and color therapy effect through previous research. Second, extract RGB value after selecting color that is helpful for their mental health by using palette from 'Korea Agency for Technology and Standards'. Third, extract other 3 colors that are similar with extracted color from 'NCS 1950 Color System'. Fourth, deduct palette of 3 color arrangement by using 'NCS Navigator' program. Lastly, extract arrangement palette for them by considering difference in visual features, and then suggest arrangement application for each palette through Computer Simulation.

  • Evaluation is to be seen a~ a central component of design activity. It is an attempt to ensure that the proposal which arises is accepted and that the resulting artefact itself suited to its purposes in practice. Recent surveys of Evaluation show that most methods require quantitative and explicit attributes. Always a significant part of the attributes of design proposals is qualitative. Therefore we need some study that convert qualitative attributes into quantitative scale values, because in many cases con\ulcornerclusions can be drawn about the order of the overall value of the design proposals. Following to Thurstone's psychological scaling methods, attributive values are assigned by ruting scale methods, met, hod of rank-order and method of paired comparisons. The problem of psycho\ulcornerlogical scaling is then to determine whether the stimuli can be ordered on a psychological continuum with respect to the degree of the attributes each possesses. The law of comparative judgement assumes that for a given stimulus there is associated a most frequently aroused or modal discriminal process on a psychological continuum. This paper is based upon the premise that the modal discriminul process will also be the same as the mean or median of the distribution. The objective of this paper is to argue for an acceptance of qualitative approaches to the evalua\ulcornertion of Design as a complement to the existing quantitative techniques. The scale values of 10 attri\ulcornerbutes \ulcorner(1) originality, (2) aesthetics, (3) satisfaction, (4) effeciency, (5) function, (6) size, (7) texture, (8) simplicity, (9) symbol, and (10) facility) in case of TV sets are obtained and their interactions are examined.

  • This study was carried out to estimate the recreation carrying capacity of lawn areas in parks. Recreation carrying capacity in this study is composed of two parts, ecological carrying capacity. This part deals with the psychological carrying capacity, based on the perception of crowding level and recreation satisfaction of users. The survey was conducted at the lawn areas of Doturag World and Seorabul Plaza in Bomun Resort Complex in Kyungju. The major results are as follows: 1. As the result of regression of regression analysis between use density of lawn area and level of perceived crowding, the capacity was estimated as 60.0㎡ man. 2. As the result of regression analysis between use density of lawn areas and total recreation satisfaction, the capacity was estimated as 48.5㎡/man. 3. As the result of regression analysis between use density of lawn areas and satisfaction to use density, the capacity was estimated as 63.2㎡/man. 4. As a conclusion, the psychological carrying capacity was estimated as 60.0㎡/man. And this value is based on user's perception of crowding and recreation satisfaction level for each use densities.

  • Circadian rhythms in subjective alertness, mood, and performance can be classified as psychological rhythm, compared with physiological rhythm such as body temperature and hormonal change. While in normal condition entrained by 24hr zeitgeber, subjective alertness would reach its maximum value around midday, subjective alertness would parallel body temperature rhythm with its peak at evening in non-entrained, free-running state. With desynchronization technique, subjective alertness rhythm is thought to be controlled by both temperature and sleep-wake rhythm oscillator. Circadian performance rhythms depend on the kind of task tested. It shows parallelism with body temperature rhythm when subjects are tested with simple, repetitive task. But when tested with tasks requiring complex verbal reasoning or immediate memory, subjects would perform them best at early morning, with performance decreasing as time of day advances. The desynchronization technique shows that circadian performance rhythm of simple, repetitive task is dependent on temperature oscillator but circadian performance rhythm of complex verbal reasoning is influenced by both temperature and sleep-wake rhythm oscillator or another independent oscillator. It would be worthwhile to compare psychological rhythm with hormonal change such as cortisol and melatonin. And more simple and time-saving method than desynchronization technique may facilitate the study of the mechanism underlying psychological rhythm.

  • Creativity is crucial in an ever-changing e-business environment. The creation of new value is essential for companies to gain the competitive edge and to pioneer new markets in e-business. Hence, many companies in e-business operate virtual teams as they are suitable to generate creativity. Even so, virtual teams possess the inherent weakness of a lack of cohesiveness. Hence, for a virtual team to be creative, team members should help each other and share information. This study emphasizes the importance of information sharing that is supposed to improve creativity and explains how to increase them for virtual teams. To explain these relationships, three dimensions are routinely examined in organizational behavior studies: leaders, teams, and members. As a consequence, and through empirical analysis, authentic leadership, sharing team climate, and psychological empowerment enhances information sharing and creativity through their respective roles, in addition to information sharing directly increasing creativity. To improve creativity and information sharing of virtual team members in e-business, this article has highlighted the importance of the three roles stated prior. Such factors can increase information sharing and creativity, and will help virtual teams and organizations to be more successful in e-business.

  • Previous studies on the effect of fashion therapy have been conducted with psychiatric patients; however, this study explores the effects in fashion therapy for women with non-pathological problems. Previous studies did show if the effect of fashion therapy could be maintained continuously; therefore, we intend to examine the existence of the long-term effects of fashion therapy in an empirical manner and provide implications for social and public interest. This study used a qualitative approach to investigate the effects of fashion therapy with the following results. Low self-esteem, negative emotions, and rigid thinking symptoms appeared by numerous stress factors, and various changes were made through fashion therapy. Emotional changes such as positive emotions and feeling of achievement, and psychological changes including self-concept formation, change of sight and self-esteem improvement appeared. Sociological and behavioral changes were also identified. We found the maintained and long term effects of fashion therapy; therefore, study provides academic implications to reconsider the social value of fashion.

  • Purpose Based on consumers' economic, psychological, self-development and conversion costs, this study discusses the relationship between consumers' negative attitude to their shadow work during the course of using self-service in unmanned supermarkets and their behavior. Design/methodology/approach Along with the Hirschman(1970)'s EVLN(Exit, Voice, Loyalty, and Neglect) reviewed, the proposed model of this study is based on the S-O-R model(Mehrabian and Russel, 1974) and mental accounting theory(Thaler, 1999), having empirical validation. Findings In the process of visits and consumption in unmanned supermarkets, increasing economic and psychological benefits can effectively reduce consumers' negative attitudes towards shadow work. In addition, the increase in switching costs will also effectively reduce consumers' negative attitudes towards shadow work. When shadow work holds a negative attitude, all the three kinds of actions will occur. Unmanned supermarket operators use consumers to create value while giving a certain return to them, which is conducive to the sustainable development of unmanned supermarket enterprises.

  • The purpose of this paper is to find out and to show that the probability of the adaption of YURAGI theory of wall covering in interior design. By using personal computer, visible image of wall covering is inputted to a computer program as 'bmp' file, Windows bitmap file format, for Fourier transform. The evaluation indexes such as 'Map', 'YURAGI coefficient', 'Rest error', and 'Linearity' are defined to display the analytical result. The result of this study is shown by visual image and numerical value. As a result of this paper, we can understand that the psychological evaluations about wall coverings are different according to the YURAGI coefficient which came out by fluctuation analysis method as YURAGI theory. So, now we are able to know that the adaptation of YURAGI theory is very useful at psychological evaluation about wall covering.
