Since faults often occur on power system, relay protection has become an important part to protect the equipments of power system efficiently and safely. Database can store the data about the relay protection efficiently, and these data must be shown to users through the web. Proset2000(an overall program system to protect power system) can realize this function in some measure, but it needs to be developed. This paper is about the further development of Proset2000. In this paper, web of Proset2000 is made by ASP programming technology, and users can browse and search the useful data through the web. There are some new functions, such as the summary of setting values, the message board and the management of administrator.

This paper describes enhancements made on PROSET, an, expert system which can perform setting and coordination of protective relays used in the ultra-high voltage transmission systems. Enhancements include the friendly and convenient environment for rulebase management and system manipulation, expanded setting capability, and faster processing speed which have been achieved through adoption of the new rule representation, rule order independent IE, rulebase editor, local database generator, Interface to PSS/E fault program, RB expansion etc.

The paper presets the improvements of MMI at the PROSET2000 correction program which is totally computerized system of the power system protection. The Base Form that is an open interface is developed to be able to compose the screen by reading the input screen from the database. It also is developed to be suitable for the environment of the Graphical User Interface instead of the DOS window when the users do the pannel settings. Program development in this paper is designed by Unified Modeling Language(UML) techniques.

One of the most important requirements for the development of computerized relay setting system is its openness to accommodate the various changes like new panel additions. This paper describes the relay setting system(PROSET2000), which has an open system architecture and adopts the object oriented programming paradigm. Its main features include the intelligent fault type identification, automatic running of the short circuit analysis, run-time rulebase modification, automatic documentation, etc.
