Stability Analysis of Missiles with Strapdown Seeker (스트랩다운 탐색기를 탑재한 유도탄의 안정성 해석)

  • A missile with a strapdown seeker should properly estimate line-of-sight(LOS) rate using its attitude information and the look angle of the seeker because LOS rate information in an inertial coordinate system, which is used for a proportional navigation(PN) homing guidance, can not be obtained directly. However, an unnecessary feedback loop(Parasite Loop) is formed in the guidance and control loop, and it may cause the guidance performance degradation or even the unstability of the system(Parasite Effect). This paper presents estimation methods for the LOS rate information and effective ways to minimize the parasite effect using Routh-Hurwitz stability criterion. Various numerical simulations are also included to verify the proposed methods.

Engagement Level Simulator Development for Wire-Guided Torpedo Performance Analysis (선유도어뢰 전술 효과도 분석을 위한 교전수준 모델 개발 연구)

  • This paper introduces the simulation concepts and technical approach of wire-guided torpedo performance analysis simulator, as a consequence, provide a framework for understanding overall attack procedures and effectiveness of tactics to torpedo operator. It described the mathematical models of simulation components and weapon engagement principle, especially it derived the closed-form solution of time consumption and leading angle problem of torpedo attack situation based on geographical assumption. In addition, it adopted the proportional navigation guidance at final stage of torpedo attack and also consider the tradeoff relation between target ship speed(propeller noise level) and detection probability, so that it improves the fidelity of physical realism. Simulator is developed with high degree of freedom in the perspective of tactical situation, and it helps user to understand the overall situation and tactical effectiveness.

Performance Evaluation for Several Control Algorithms of the Actuating System Using G/C HILS Technique (비행 전구간 유도제어 HILS 기법을 적용한 구동제어 알고리즘 성능 평가 연구)

  • This paper describes the whole development phase for the underwater vehicle actuating system with high hydroload torque disturbance. This includes requirement analysis, system modeling, control algorithm design, real time implementation, test and performance evaluations. As for driving control algorithms, fuzzy logic, variable structure and PD(Proportional-Differential) algorithm were designed and implemented on board controller using a single chip microprocessor. Intel 8797. And test and performance evaluation is carried out both single test and wystem integration test. We could confirm the basic performance of actuating system through the single test and gereral developing work of any actuating systems was finished with a single performance test of actuating system without system integration test. But, we suggested that system integration test be needed. System integration test is carried out using G/C HILS(Guidance and Control Hardware-In-the -Loop Simulation) which is constituted flight motion simulator, load simulator, real time host computer and the related subsystems such as inertial navigation system, power supply system and Guidance and Control Computer etc.. The most important practical contribution of this paper is that full system characteristics such as minimal control effort, enhancement of guidance and autopilot performance by the actuating system using G/C HILS technique are investigated. Through full running G/C HILS, in spite of the passing to single tests, some control algorithm resulted in failure as to stability of full system and system time frame.

Laboratory Experiments for Triad Interactions of Deep Water Wind Waves (심해 풍파의 3파 상호작용에 대한 실험실 실험)

  • The triad interactions have been known to be important only for shoaling waves or finite depth wind waves. In deep water, they are insignificant compared with the quadruplet interactions in respect to the evolution of wind waves due to energy transfer among the wave components. However, the triad interactions may be important even for deep water waves because they may closely be related to the wave steepness, which definitely affects wave breaking, drag of air flow over t.'Ie sea, or navigation of ships, especially during the early stage of the development of wind waves. This study reports a series of laboratory experiments, whose data are subjected to bispectral analyses to investigate the triad interactions of deep-water wind waves. It is found that the bicoherence at the spectral peak frequency and the wave steepness are almost directly proportional, indicating that the steep waves with peaked crests and flat troughs are resulted from the triad interactions. Both bicoherence and wave steepness increase with the wave age during the early stage of wave generation and then drop off as the waves grow old. It seems that the energy of the secondary spectral peak developed by the triad interactions during the early stage of wave generation is redistributed to the neighboring frequencies by the quadruplet interactions during the later stage.
