The objective of this study was to present the proper probability distribution model based on the data obtained from surveys on domestic refrigerator food storage temperatures in home. Domestic refrigerator temperatures were determined as risk factors in foodborne disease outbreaks for microbial risk assessment (MRA). The temperature was measured by directly visiting 139 homes using a data logger from May to September of 2009. The overall mean temperature for all the refrigerators in the survey was $3.53{\pm}2.96^{\circ}C$, with 23.6% of the refrigerators measuring above $5^{\circ}C$. Probability distributions were also created using @RISK program based on the measured temperature data. Statistical ranking was determined by the goodness of fit (GOF, i.e., the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) or Anderson-Darling (AD) test) to determine the proper probability distribution model. This result showed that the LogLogistic (-10.407, 13.616, 8.6107) distribution was found to be the most appropriate for the MRA model. The results of this study might be directly used as input variables in exposure evaluation for conducting MRA.
In recent decade, the occurrences of typhoon and severe storm events are increasing trend due to the climate change. And the intensity of natural disaster is more and more stronger and the loss of life and damage of property are also increasing. Therefore, this study tried to understand the impact of climate change on urban drainage system for prevention and control of natural disaster and for this, we selected Gyeyang-gu, Incheon city as a study area. We investigated the climate models and scenarios for the selection of proper model and scenario, then we estimated frequency based rainfall in hourly unit considering climate change. The XP-SWMM model was used to estimate the future flood discharge on urban drainage system using the estimated frequency based rainfall. As a result, we have known that the study area will be overflown in the future and so we may need prepare proper measures for the flood prevention and control.
Recently, vessel's average speed in the sea becomes fast because of the increasing of high-speeds vessel like a container ship and ferry. So, it is considered that speed control in the korean narrow waterway isn't the proper vessel traffic management, now. And, there is a rare paper studied about speed control quantitatively and numerically, especially speed control is discussing continuously, as abrogation of Incheon Port's speed control and alleviation of Kwangyang Port's speed control a according to navigating mariner's request. After this paper replayed the navigation traffic flow in the straight waterway using marine traffic flow simulation, the Environmental Stress Model is introduced to evaluate difficulty of each vessel's traffic.
High Deborah or Weissenberg number problems in viscoelastic flow modeling have been known formidably difficult even in the inertialess limit. There exists almost no result that shows satisfactory accuracy and proper mesh convergence at the same time. However recently, quite a breakthrough seems to have been made in this field of computational rheology. So called matrix-logarithm (here we name it tensor-logarithm) formulation of the viscoelastic constitutive equations originally written in terms of the conformation tensor has been suggested by Fattal and Kupferman (2004) and its finite element implementation has been first presented by Hulsen (2004). Both the works have reported almost unbounded convergence limit in solving two benchmark problems. This new formulation incorporates proper polynomial interpolations of the logarithm for the variables that exhibit steep exponential dependence near stagnation points, and it also strictly preserves the positive definiteness of the conformation tensor. In this study, we present an alternative procedure for deriving the tensor-logarithmic representation of the differential constitutive equations and provide a numerical example with the Leonov model in 4:1 planar contraction flows. Dramatic improvement of the computational algorithm with stable convergence has been demonstrated and it seems that there exists appropriate mesh convergence even though this conclusion requires further study. It is thought that this new formalism will work only for a few differential constitutive equations proven globally stable. Thus the mathematical stability criteria perhaps play an important role on the choice and development of the suitable constitutive equations. In this respect, the Leonov viscoelastic model is quite feasible and becomes more essential since it has been proven globally stable and it offers the simplest form in the tensor-logarithmic formulation.
The demands of golf car is being increased with increment in golf population, gradually proceeding to the trend of popularization, but domestic golf car industry is not so mature as it cope with the need of this market appropriately. Most import golf cars of high price have occupied the domestic market from the viewpoint of the its demands. Although the import golf car provided bad after-sales services and very expensive components, those demand's breadth continue to rise steadily. We decide to have to approach an appropriate time to develop the competitive model native to korean style in the field of golf car, since we have established our foundation in auto industry. At this point we try to analyze the golf car expected from a competition and the present state of golf car industry inside and outside of the country through this study. We attempt to derive the precondition for design development of a proper model to possess competitive power in foreign market from now on.
When the fire occur in the deeply underground subway station, the difficulties of passenger evacuation are expected because of many stairs to the exit. In this study, SOONGSIL-University station (7 line, 47m depth) is the one of the deepest subway stations of the each line in the Seoul metro. The numerical computational-simulation was performed for the fire driven flow in the subway station. Hot and smoke flow was analyzed from the simulation results. The proper plan of evacuation against fire was considered through the results. The fire driven flow was simulated using FDS code in which LES method was applied. The Heat Release Rate was 10MW and the ultrafast model was applied for the growing model of the fire source. The proper mesh size was determined from the characteristic length of fire size. The parallel computational method was employed to compute the flow and heat eqn's in the meshes, which are about 10,000,000, with 6cpu of the linux clustering machine.
For the prediction of the ventilation rate for removing the non-isothermal concentrated fume from the semi-enclosed space, the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis was done. Securing the proper ventilation conditions in emergency state such as in fire is crucial factor for the protection of the resident in the space. In the analysis for the determining the proper ventilation rate, the experimental study had the limitation for simulating the versatile conditions of fume development. The theoretical and computational method had been chosen as the alternate tool for the experimental analysis. In this study, the CFD analysis was done on the defined model which already had been done the experimental analysis by the previous workers. By comparing the prediction on the plume heights and the ventilation rates by the CFD analysis at, and in the parametric model of $1m^3$ with those of the previous experimental works, the feasibility of the computational analysis was evaluated. For the required ventilation rate analyzed by the CFD analysis was over predicted in 7.1% difference with that of the experimental results depending on the different plume height. With the comparison with the analytical Zukoski model at, the CFD analysis on the ventilation was under predicted in 8.3%. By the verification of the feasibility of the CFD analysis, the extended analysis was done for getting the extra information such as the water vapor distribution and $CO^2$ distribution in the semi-enclosed spaces.

A 3-D axisymmetric computer program is developed to predict the NO behavior in SNCR system for the stoker incinerator with the waste treatment capacity, 200ton/day. To this end a turbulent reacting flow field calculation is made using proper assumption and empiricism. The stoker bed is assumed to be a homogeneous waste-volatilized gaseous state. The initial composition or reactants are assumed based on the data of the ultimate analysis. Turbulent is resolved by k-e model and turbulent reaction is handled by eddy-breakup model harmonized with empirical chemistry data for gaseous combustion, NO and urea reaction. The liquid droplet is traced by Lagrangian method incorporated by aerodynamic drag, Coriolis and crntrifugal forces. Radiation is treated by sensible heat loss model. Calculation results are in good agreement with experimental data at the outlet of post combustion chamber in Daejon 4th industrial complex. The flue gas shows the temperature range of $900\sim1000^{\circ}C$, velocity of 5m/s and NO concentration of 140ppm at the exit while the measured temperature, flue gas velocity and NO concentration are $967^{\circ}C$, $3\sim4m/s$ and $100\sim200ppm$respectively. Using the developed computer program a parametric study has been made with the variation of heat content of waste, castable length and SNCR variables for the determination of proper injector location. In general, the calculated results are consistent and physically acceptable.

PURPOSE. The purpose of this study was to propose finite element (FE) modeling methods for predicting stress distributions on teeth and mandible under chewing action. MATERIALS AND METHODS. For FE model generation, CT images of skull were translated into 3D FE models, and static analysis was performed considering linear material behaviors and nonlinear geometrical effect. To find out proper boundary and loading conditions, parametric studies were performed with various areas and directions of restraints and loading. The loading directions are prescribed to be same as direction of masseter muscle, which was referred from anatomy chart and CT image. From the analysis, strain and stress distributions of teeth and mandible were obtained and compared with experimental data for model validation. RESULTS. As a result of FE analysis, the optimized boundary condition was chosen such that 8 teeth were fixed in all directions and condyloid process was fixed in all directions except for forward and backward directions. Also, fixing a part of mandible in a lateral direction, where medial pterygoid muscle was attached, gave the more proper analytical results. Loading was prescribed in a same direction as masseter muscle. The tendency of strain distributions between the teeth predicted from the proposed model were compared with experimental results and showed good agreements. CONCLUSION. This study proposes cost efficient FE modeling method for predicting stress distributions on teeth and mandible under chewing action. The proposed modeling method is validated with experimental data and can further be used to evaluate structural safety of dental prosthesis.

Mandae watershed in Gangwon province has been known as one of soil erosion hot spot watersheds within Hanggang basin. Thus numerous efforts have been made to reduce soil erosion and pollutant loads into receiving watershed. However, proper best management practices have not been suggested because no monitoring flow and water quality data were available. Thus, modeling technique could not be utilized to evaluate water quality issue properly at Mandae watershed to develop and implement the best management practices. In this study, the SWAT model was applied to the Mandae watershed, Gangwon province to evaluate the SWAT prediction ability and water quality improvement with vegetated filter strip (VFS) in this study. The Nash-Sutcliffe model efficiency (NSE) and Coefficient of determination ($R^2$) values for flow simulation were 0.715 and 0.802, respectively, and the NSE and $R^2$ values were 0.903 and 0.920 for T-P simulation indicating the SWAT can be used to simulate flow and T-P with acceptable accuracies. The SWAT model, calibrated for flow and T-P, was used to evaluate water quality improvement with the VFS in agricultural fields. It was found that approximately 56.19 % of T-P could be reduced with vegetated filter strip of 5 m at the edge of agricultural fields within the watershed (34.86 % reduction with VFS of 1m, 48.29 % with VFS of 3 m). As shown in this study, the T-P, which plays key roles in eutrophication in the waterbodies, can be reduced with proper installation of the VFS.
