공학 설계 프로세스에서 설계 변경 영향 해석 (Change Impact Analysis in Engineering Design Process)

  • There are many changed while a design is completed. Therefore, if the impact of the design changes is estimated, it may result in the improvement of design efficiency. But, the design changes have various types and affect other parts of the design system. Hence, it is difficult to deal with design changes directly. The purpose of this research is to develop a systematic change propagation tracing algorithm and a method of change impact analysis and then, to implement a change impact analysis system. Process based design is set up for the field of this research. Also the design, composed of design parameters and constraints, is set up for the subject of the research. Change propagation tracing algorithm traces change propagation based on the following concept : If the design parameters are changed, other parameters within the constrains including them may be changed. Using the result of change propagation tracing algorithm, changeable parameters, constraints and tasks can be found. The method of change impact analysis, to calculate change impact value from this changeable tasks, is developed. Change propagation tracing algorithm and the method of change impact analysis are implemented into change impact analysis system and it is applied to the redesign of 2 stage gear drives. It can support different kinds of design activities systematically. especially, at the redesign step, where many design change alternatives exist, change impact value of each alternative exist, change impact value of each alternative is calculated and design change is performed toward direction to minimize the impact of design change. Consequently, it is expected to improve the efficiency of the whole design.

Element-free Galerkin 방법을 이용한 적응적 균열진전해석 (Adaptive Crack Propagation Analysis with the Element-free Galerkin Method)

  • 본 논문에서는 element-free Galerkin(EFG) 방법에 기반한 적응적 정적균열진전해석기법을 제시하였다. 균열진전 매단계마다 적응적해석을 수행함으로써 전체 해석의 일관성과 정밀성을 동시에 확보할 수 있었다. 균열진전과정에 있어서의 적응적해석은 산정된 오차지표에 따라 적분을 위한 격자구조에 따라 절점을 추가하고 소거하는 과정을 통해 구현되었다. 이 때 사용된 오차지표는 원 EFG해석결과 얻어진 응력과 절점응력을 다시 투영한 응력의 차에 의해 얻어졌다. 제안된 해석기법의 타당성과 효용성을 수치예제에 의해 검증하였다. 그 결과 제안된 해석기법이 균열진전해석시 효율적으로 적용될 수 있음을 보였다.

Modified discontinuous deformation analysis for rock failure: Crack propagation

  • Deformation of rock masses is not only related to rock itself, but also related to discontinuities, the latter maybe greater. Study on crack propagation at discontinuities is important to reveal the damage law of rock masses. DDARF is a discontinuous deformation analysis method for rock failure and some modified algorithms are proposed in this study. Firstly, coupled modeling methods of AutoCAD-DDARF and ANSYS-DDARF are introduced, which could improve the modeling efficiency of DDARF compared to its original program. Secondly, a convergence criterion for automatically judging the computation equilibrium is established, it could overcome subjective drawbacks of ending one calculation by time steps. Lastly but not the least, relationship between the super relaxation factor and the calculation convergence is analyzed, and reasonable value range of the super relaxation factor is obtained. Based on these above modified programs, influences on crack propagation of joint angle, joint parameters and geo-stresses' side pressure are studied.

Preliminary Research on the Uncertainty Estimation in the Probabilistic Designs

  • In probabilistic design, the challenge is to estimate the uncertainty propagation, since outputs of subsystems at lower levels could constitute inputs of other systems or at higher levels of the multilevel systems. Three uncertainty propagation estimation techniques are compared in this paper in terms of numerical efficiency and accuracy: root sum square (linearization), distribution-based moment approximation, and Taguchi-based integration. When applied to reliability-based design optimization (RBDO) under uncertainty, it is investigated which type of applications each method is best suitable for. Two nonlinear analytical examples and one vehicle crashworthiness for side-impact simulation example are employed to investigate the unique features of the presented techniques for uncertainty propagation. This study aims at helping potential users to identify appropriate techniques for their applications in the multilevel design.

무요소법을 이용한 다수균열 함유부재의 동적균열전파해석에 관한 연구 (Analysis of Dynamic Multiple-Crack Propagation Problem by Element free-Galerkin Method)

  • In this study, an algorithm analyzing dynamic mutiple-crack propagation problem by Meshfree Method is proposed. A short description of Meshfree Method especially, Element-free Galerkin (EFG) method is presented and the elastodynamic fracture theory is summarized. A numerical implementation algorithm for dynamic analysis by Meshfree Method is discussed and an algorithm for mutlple-crack dynamic propagation is also presented. A couple of numerical examples of dynamic crack propagation problem illustrate the performance of the proposed technique. The accuracy of the algorithm is studied in the first example by being compared with experimental results, and the applicability and efficiency of the developed algorithm is studied in the second example.

수중 네트워크에서 제안된 CSMA/CA 프로토콜의 평가 (Evaluation of Proposed CSMA/CA Protocol in The Underwater Acoustic Networks)

  • 본 논문은 기존의 CSMA/CA 프로토콜의 지연시간을 감소시키고 전송률을 증가시키기 위해 제안된 CSMA/CA 프로토콜에 관한 연구이다. 수중환경에서 긴 전파시간에 의해 충돌확률이 증가하고, 전송효율이 감소함에 따라 프로토콜의 성능은 저하된다. 이러한 전파시간을 고려하여 본 논문에서는 기존의 CSMA/CA 프로토콜의 Timeout 상황을 피하기 위해 CTS 패킷에 STANDBY 프레임을 삽입하여 전송하는 프로토콜을 제안한다. 모의실험 결과, 제안하는 프로토콜이 기존 프로토콜보다 처리율에서 약 20% 정도의 성능향상을 보였고, 전파지연 대 전송지연 a의 값이 작을수록 성능이 우수함을 확인하였다.

수퍼 가우시안 빔을 이용한 레이저 전력 전송 효율 개선 (Increased Efficiency of Long-distance Optical Energy Transmission Based on Super-Gaussian)

  • 자유 공간 광 통신 또는 레이저 전력 전송과 같은 장거리 레이저 빔 전파 연구의 핵심 요소 중 하나는 레이저 빔의 전송 효율이다. 본 논문에서는 레이저 에너지 전송의 효율을 개선하기 위해 레이저 빔의 공간적 분포를 변형하는 방법을 제안하였으며, 특히 수퍼 가우시안 빔을 대상으로 수치 해석을 진행해 그 유효성을 확인하였다. 송신기의 광학 시스템에 의해 결정된 회절 한계 반지름 이내로 수신되는 전력의 양을 기준으로, 2차 수퍼 가우시안 레이저 빔이 1 km 거리를 전파할 때 단일 채널과 다중 채널에서 모두 전송 효율이 개선되는 것을 확인하였다. 또한 1 km 전파거리를 전제로 기본 가우시안 빔과 2차 수퍼 가우시안 빔을 사용하는 상황을 비교하였을 때, 전송 효율 개선률이 단일 채널 레이저에서 1.2% 이상, 3채널 및 7채널에서는 각각 4,2% 및 4.6% 이상이라는 결과를 얻었다. 레이저 빔의 전파거리가 750 m에서 1,250 m 사이인 경우, 2차 수퍼 가우시안 빔의 전송효율 개선률은 단일, 3채널, 7채널일 때 각각 1.2%, 4.1%, 4.0% 이상으로 전송 효율의 우위가 유지되었다.

  • This paper presents that photonic bandgap structures suppressing the propagation of surface waves can improve the performance of the patch antennas on thick high dielectric constant substrate. The forbidden propagation of surface wave due to the photonic bandgap enhances the radiation efficiency and reduce the back radiation drastically with maintaining the small size and wide bandwidth of the antennas.

  • Under part load condition of spark-ignition engine, pumping loss had great effect on engine efficiency. To reduce pumping loss, the study designed spark-ignited engines to make direct spray of gasoline to combustion chamber. In spark-ignited direct-injection engines, ignition probability is important for successful combustion and flame propagation characteristics are also different from pre-mixed combustion. This study designed a visualization testing device to study ignition probability of spark-ignited direct-injection LPG fuel and combustion flame characteristics. This visualization device consists of combustion chamber, fuel supply system, air supply system, electronic control system and data acquisition system. Ambient pressure, ambient temperature and ambient air flow velocity are important parameters on ignition probability of LPG-air mixture and flame propagation characteristics, and the study also found that sprayed LPG fuel can be directly ignited by spark-plug under proper ambient conditions. To all successful cases of ignition, the study recorded flame propagation image in digital method through ICCD camera and its flame propagation characteristics were analyzed.

구조용강의 용접가공에 따른 피로균열진전에 미치는 응력비의 영향 (Effect of Stress Ratio on Fatigue Crack Propagation Processing of Structural Steel)

  • The lightness of components required on marine and shipbuilding industry is requiring high strength of components. In particular, fatigue failure phenomena, which happen in metal, bring on danger in human life and property. Therefore, antifatigue failure technology takes an important part on current industries. In this study, it is investigated about endurance and fatigue crack propagation rate of according to welding methods such as SMAW, FCAW and SAW commonly used for welding structures in present. Endurance limits carried out highly in the order of SMAW, FCAW, SAW and fatigue crack propagation rate out lowly in the order of SMAW, FCAW, SAW. By these results, it is needed to use SMAW welding method for welding structures with small welding capacity and FCAW, SAW methods for large welding structures after consideration about economic gains and operation efficiency of welding. Fatigue crack propagation rate is more affected by strength of welding materials than endurance limit of welding materials according to welding methods.
