A nonintrusive projection-based AR approach using complementary pattern has been recently proposed and applied to virtual studio. However, the approach faces the tradeoff between the pattern imperceptibility and compensation accuracy. To alleviate the tradeoff, we propose a content adaptive pattern concealment approach. The projector input images (AR images) are divided into rectangular regions and spatial variation and color distribution are computed in the regions. Based on the spatial variation and color distribution, we embed locally different strength of pattern images into different color channels. It is demonstrated that the proposed approach has two opposite advantages by comparing it with the previous (non-adaptive) approach through a variety of experiments and subjective evaluation. Our content adaptive approach can obtain the same performance using weaker pattern than the previous approach and thus significantly improve the imperceptibility of the pattern. On the contrary, our content adaptive approach can make strong pattern less perceptible and thus produce better compensation results.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of environmental factors on 380 children's unaided visual acuity and to determine the visual acuity and objective refraction error of these children. The unaided visual acuity and objective refraction error were measured by the TOPCON chart projector and refractometer on 147 kindergarteners and 233 primary school children ranging from age 5 to 12. The measurement on the unaided visual acuity of children were 3% for below the 0.1 visual acuity 9% for 0.1~0.4. 18% for 0.5~0.7. 16% for 0.8~0.9. and 54% for over 1.0 visual acuity respectively. The refractive errors were 9.35% for mixed astigmatism. 14.5% for hyperopia 75.88% for myopia. and 0.27% for emmetropia. respectively. When analyzing the environmental factors. the relationship between the children's visual acuity and the number of hours the children watched TV. the more hours they watched TV. the more the children lost their visual acuity. The visual acuity of children decreased abruptly in the groups that watched TV more than 4 hour a day. When comparing the relationship between the children's visual acuity and proximity to the TV, the further away from the TV they were the higher visual acuity. There is rna relation between the children's visual acuity and the studying hour or reading hour of children. The relationship between the children's visual acuity and their dwelling environment, the visual acuity of children who lived in an independent house were better than the visual acuity of children who dwelled in an apartment.
Multi-view 3D displays based on a limited number of pixels have the problem that the stereo-scopic image has a low resolution because of increasing view number. To solve the problem of low resolution, we propose an optical approaching method that focuses the width of a unit pixel by using a commercial spherical shape lenticular lens sheet and increases the effective resolution by increasing the number of sources of light in the multi-view 3D display system based on projection type. The method was performed in such an order that several main derivable parameters were defined, and, through the theoretical and experimental result, the value of the contractible unit pixel width and the scalable effective resolution was derived in a given system environment. As a result, for the case that the ray of light from the projector transmitted the 25 LPI lenticular lens sheet which has the pitch size 1.016 mm, the focused unit pixel width was 0.19 mm and the scalable effective resolution was, at most, 5 times wider than the original one. In addition, the range of depth of focus was 1.496 mm, which shows us the range of thickness tolerances of commercial spherical shape lenticular lens sheet and sufficient optical alignment tolerances.
With the advent of digital cinema, more and more movies are digitally produced, distributed via digital medium such as hard drives and network, and finally projected using a digital projector. However, digital cameras capable of shotting at 2K or higher resolution for digital cinema are still very expensive and bulky, which impedes rapid transition to digital production. As a low-cost solution for acquiring high resolution digital videos, we propose a hybrid camera consisting of a low-resolution CCD for capturing videos and a high-resolution CCD for capturing still images at regular intervals. From the output of the hybrid camera, we can synthesize high-resolution videos by software as follows: for each frame, 1. find pixel correspondences from the current frame to the previous and subsequent keyframes associated with high resolution still images, 2. synthesize a high-resolution image for the current frame by copying the image blocks associated with the corresponding pixels from the high-resolution keyframe images, and 3. complete the synthesis by filling holes in the synthesized image. This framework can be extended to making NPR video effects and capturing HDR videos.

One way to create a visually immersive environment is to utilize a front projection system. Especially, when enough space is not available behind the screen, it becomes difficult to install a back projection system, making the front projection an appropriate choice. A drawback associated with the front projection is, however, the interference of shadow. The shadow can be cast on the screen when the user is located between the screen and the projector. This shadow can negatively affect the user experience and reduce the sense of immersion by removing important information. There have been various attempts to eliminating shadows cast on the screen by using multiple projectors that compensate for each other with missing information. There is trade-off between calculataion time and desired accuracy in this mutual compensation. Accurate estimation of the shadow usually requires heavy computation while simple approaches suffer from inclusion of non-shadow regions in the result. We propose a novel approach to removing shadows created in the front projection system using the skeleton data obtained from a depth camera. The skeleton data helps accurately extract the shape of the shadow that the user cast without requiring much computation. Our method also utilizes a distance field to remove the afterimage of shadow that may occur when the user moves. We verify the effectiveness of our system by performing various experiments in an interactive environment created by a front projection system.
The purpose of this study is to find directivity characteristics and relative gain of directivity of the wedge horn in conjunction with a projector with varing horn length, horn angle and frequency. The horns are constructed with aluminum plate covered with styrofoam. By using hinges the horn angle could be varied with wide range. Measurements were made over the frequency range of 25 KHz-100 KHz by varing the horn lengths from 5cm to 21cm and the horn angles up to 90 degrees. The followings were the results obtained from the study, 1. As the horn angle increased, the beam width for tile major lobe initially decreased and then increased. At 80 KHz with horn length 21cm the minimum beam widths were obtained with 16 degrees in horizontal plane and 36 degrees in vertical plane. 2. The maximum relative gains of directivity were 4.4 dB in horizontal plane and 3.4 dB in vertical plane when the horn length was 21cm. 3. Beam width was decreased with increasing of frequency. 4. When the mouth apertures were small the major lobes obtained by the experiment agreed with the computed ones, and when the mouth apertures were wide the major lobes by the observed were wide than the computed ones.
In recent years, the automatic remote control controller of the gamma ray irradiator malfunctions, and radiation workers are continuously exposed to radiation exposure accidents. In the non-destructive testing field, much time and resources are invested in establishing a radioactive source monitoring system in order to prevent potential incidents of radiation. In this study, the gamma-ray response properties of the lead monoxide-based radiation detector were estimated through monte carlo simulation as a previous study for the development of a radioactive source location monitoring system that can be applied universally to various non-destructive testing equipment. As a result of the study, the optimized thickness of the radiation detector varies according to the gamma-ray energy emitted from the radioactive source, and the optimized thickness gradually increases with increasing energy. In conclusion, the optimized thickness of the lead monoxide-based radiation detector was $200{\mu}m$ for the Ir-192, $150{\mu}m$ for the Se-75 and $300{\mu}m$ for the Co-60. Based on these results, the appropriate thickness of lead monoxide-based radiation detector considering secondary-electron equilibrium was evaluated to be $300{\mu}m$ for general application. These results can be used as a basic data for determining the appropriate thickness required in the radiation detector when developing a radiation source location monitoring system for universal application to various non-destructive testing equipment in the future.
TYME is an interactive typography program based on the ephemeral nature of time. It is a text based poetic tool, built with Processing. This project is presented as a performance that utilizes a computer with a display screen, a projector, and speakers. As the user types, white characters appear, flow on the score on the screen and trigger jazz sounds, then characters disappear into black space in several seconds on the screen like smoke. Typography from this invented instrument is evocative and wistful, and allows the user to associate with ephemeral time. While typing the characters as though playing an instrument at intervals of time, the user can freeze the motion and print out or save otherwise fleeting moment with a button. I intend to contain both characteristics: the amorphous shape of smoke and the elusive attribute of smoke for the expression of intangible and ephemeral time. Every alphabetic shape is derived from the video dips that I shot of smoke. The resulting alphabetic images are then programmed using the Processing scripting language and which can then be typed on the screen with a keyboard. TYME could be a model as a project that reflects the unfixed quality of digital typography, and as a design approach for interactive expressive typography by scripting code. This project also represents the characteristics of typographic play, which can be realized in an computational environment like this model.

In the non-destructive inspection field, we invest a lot of time and resources in developing the radiation source system to ensure the safety of the workers. However, the probability of accidents is still high. In order to prevent potential radiation accidents in advance, it is necessary to directly verify the position of the radiation source, but the research is still insufficient. In this study, we developed a monitoring system that can detect the position of the radiation source in the source guide tube in the gamma-ray irradiator. The characteristics of the radiation detector are estimated by monte carlo simulation. As a result, the radiation detector for Ir-192 gamma-ray energy was analyzed to have secondary electron equilibrium at $150{\mu}m$ regardless of the semiconductor material. Also, it is expected that the gamma ray response characteristic is the best in $HgI_2$. These results are expected to be used as a basis for determining the optimal thickness of the radiation detector located in the detection part of the future monitoring system. In addition, when developing a monitoring system based on this, radiation workers can easily recognize the danger and secure safety, as well as prevent and preemptively respond to potential radiation accidents.
Studies were carried out on the preparation of several kinds of pulps from Sponge gourd fiber by KP, ASP, SP PAP, AP and addition of AQ pulping process. These unbeaten and beaten pulping fibers were observed their characteristics and fiber structure by SEM, FQA, Image analyzer and Micro projector. The results were summarized as follows; 1) The cooking condition which is the possible defibrilation of Shives are KP base($160^{\circ}C$, 2hr.), ASP base($155^{\circ}C$, 4hr.), PAP base($160^{\circ}C$, 1hr.). From the results, the kappa no. had the range of 12, 25, 10 each other. 2) The pulp yields of sponge gourd fiber obtained the range of KP 50~55%, ASP&60~70% and PAP 45~50%. SP base have the highest and contnets of KP&PAP base are much the same as woods. 3) Increasing amount of NaOH on Pulping was accelerated the defibrilation of Shives and was changed a morphology of pulping fiber quality such as fiber length, curl and kink index. 4) Addition of AQ on pulping process of sponge gourd fiber had a affect to raise the rate of delignification while protecting cellullosic components against degradation, especially defibrilation was very excellent, beated pulp much more easily and increased the fibrilation. 5) ASP system have higher bulk density, fiber bonding and protecting cellullosic components against degradation than KP or PAP. 6) The color reactions of the "C" stain solution showed blue or blue-gray with clean and transparency thin cell wall.
