Project Performance Improvement of Employees: A Psychological Empowerment Approach

  • According to the dynamic changes in the business environment, the structural transformation of firms has had an observable trend. An increasingly large number of firms have been transforming into either project-based organizations or project expert groups. This study aims to investigate the antecedents required for the optimal level of empowerment with consideration of the project-based team environmental nature and job characteristic. Three factors are applied to measure the significant effects on psychological empowerment as the result variables. To determine the antecedents and consequent factors of psychological empowerment, employees' interviews and precedent studies are used. For the empirical study, four determinants of empowerment variables are modeled into a second-order reflective construct. This study finds that psychological empowerment significantly affects performance. Therefore, this study can serve as a guideline for development and operating methods for project success.

  • The purpose of this paper is 1) to extract managerial factor into each cell which is classified by the characteristic grill of new products 2) to construct a management model of new product development for korean companies. For this purpose, the characteristic grill of new products is classified by which is market/technology sphere. Moreover the focus of this analysis is on examination of success/failure factors, which have an important effect upon new product success or failure. The variables for this study were selected from literature survey and pre-interview was implemented specially. The subject of study was project leaders of electronics industry where have taken the leading part in product development activities in Korean manufacturing industries. Enquete survey was conducted in each firm and project managers were asked to respond. Conclusion of this study based on many significant results gained by the various multi-variate analysis are summarized as follows. First, it can he noted that success/failure factors are different by each classified model and characteristic grill of a new product. Second, it has been identified that the important factors of success products were technical & management support and market ability, the important factor of failure product were lacking in ability of technical development and R&D management system construction. This paper presents some useful guidelines in strategic and managerial aspects for development of new products. Concurrently, the model of this study should be a great practical approach for application of actual affairs.

The focus of this study is on examination of failure factors, which have an important effect upon new product failure. 정부연구비 지원 변동이 기초연구성과에 미치는 영향 분석: IT 분야를 중심으로 (Impact Analysis of Government Subsidy Fluctuations on Basic Research Outputs: focused on the IT field)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 기초연구분야에서 정부연구비의 변동과 연구성과간의 관계를 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위해, 개인연구사업 중 대학에서 수행된 IT 분야의 기초연구과제들을 대상으로 분석을 실시하였다. 여러 과제 특성 변수를 활용하여, 종속변수와 독립변수와의 관계를 통제하였다. 회귀분석결과를 살펴보면, 정부 연구비 증감은 모든 연구성과(가중논문 수, 특허 수)와 통계적으로 유의미한 정(+)의 관계에 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한, 연구성과에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 과제는 연구비가 증액된 과제로, 연구비가 유지된 과제에 비해 최대 8배 정도의 큰 영향력을 보였다. 연구비가 감액된 과제는 연구비가 유지된 과제에 비해 최대 4배 정도의 큰 영향력을 갖은 것으로 확인하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 기반으로 학술적 측면, 실무적 측면의 시사점을 제시하였다.

An Empirical Analysis of the Financing Behavior of Listed Construction Firms in Korea Stock Market - focused on Testing Two Capital Structure Theories -

  • The purpose of this study is identifying the relationship among the business strategy, order receiving capability and leverage variables of a construction company using industry characteristic variables, in addition to the explanation variables used in the previous studies. The samples of this study were limited to the construction companies listed in Korean stock market. This study built multiple regression analysis models, which have been frequently used in traditional previous studies, in the explanation of company capital structure. Empirical analysis on Static Trade-off Theory and Pecking Order Theory was done by the built model. The study results suggested that the capital structure determination behavior of a construction company generally follows Static Trade-off Theory; however, profitability was found to follow Pecking Order Theory. The explanation variables used in the previous capital structure studies mostly produced significant results; however, the variables, which this study experimentally used, did not produce significant results. It is believed that it implies that additional studies are required in the selection of variables and study methodology. Consequently, a case that unconditionally supports a particular theory is scarce. It has been also found that a case can support both theories at the same time. Therefore, it is believed that development study methodology or introduction of new study methodology that can identify the dynamic characteristic of construction company capital structure formation is required.

  • BOT(Build-Operate-Transfer) 프로젝트 파이낸스(PF: Project Finance)는 민간이 자본조달, 건설, 그리고 운영을 맡고 운영수입에서 투자비와 수익을 회수하므로 사업의 위험으로부터 정부를 보호하며 사업자도 특수목적회사를 설립하고 부외 및 비소구 금융을 통해 자본을 조달하기 때문에 채무불이행의 책임으로부터 보호되는 특징을 지닌다. 이와 함께 BOT PF 사업의 금융구조와 특성에 의한 채무불이행위험 완화는 금융시장 경색, 새로운 국제회계기준(IFRS) 도입, 그리고 건설사의 우발채무 등과 맞물려 그 중요성이 부각되고 있으나 현금흐름의 불확실성과 여러 계약조항들이 유발하는 비대칭수익으로 인해 전통 금융 경제이론에 기반한 평가가 어려웠다. 그러므로 본 연구는 BOT PF 고유의 금융구조와 특성에 의한 채무불이행위험 완화효과의 평가를 위해 옵션가격결정 및 관련 금융 경제이론을 토대로 이론모델을 구성하고 사례를 분석함으로써 BOT 사업의 위험관리를 위한 이론적인 틀을 제시하고자 한다. 연구결과에 의하면 BOT 사업의 금융구조 및 특성이 사업자의 채무불이행위험을 완화시키며 특히 관련변수들이 수익성을 악화시키는 방향으로 변화할 때 그 효과가 증가함을 알 수 있었다.

크라우드펀딩 참여와 구전의도에 대한 실증적 분석 : 플랫폼 신뢰를 중심으로 (Empirical Analysis of Participation and Word of Mouth Intention of Reward-based Crowdfunding: Focusing on Platform Trust)

  • Purpose Even if many startups firms have developed innovative items and a potential for success, they often have a limited financial resources, which makes them difficult to do business. To overcome this financial difficulty, startups have used one of fintech services, called crowdfunding that can be a good alternative to solving the difficulty of financing. The purpose of this study is to empirically validate the proposed research model that investigates the reasons of trusting crowdfunding platform, which positively leads to two outcomes - intention to participate and word-of-mouth for reward-based crowdfunding project. Design/methodology/approach We proposed several factors categorized as trust, information quality, and platform traits that have a positive impact on trust of crowdfunding platform, which positively leads to intention to participate and word-of-mouth of crowdfunding. The collected(n=285) from individuals who have participated in crowdfunding project was analyzed with SmartPLS 3.0 to test proposed hypotheses. Findings The results showed that all proposed variables (website reputation, crowdfunding familiarity, digital storytelling, information quality, and interaction) had a significant impact on crowfunding platform trust with exception of product differentiation. In addition, crowfunding platform trust was positively associated with participating intention and word-of-mouth. Based on findings, we discussed the research results and implication alone with a direction for future studies.

도시정비형 재개발사업 소요기간의 영향요인 - 사업구역과 경제적 및 입지적 특성을 바탕으로 - (A Study on the Factors affecting the Duration of Urban Redevelopment Projects - Based on the Project Area, Economic and Locational Characteristics -)

  • 본 연구는 서울의 도시화율이 높아지고 도심 내 노후·불량 주거지가 증가함에 따라 지속적인 정비사업의 필요성이 요구되는 가운데 장기간의 사업기간을 소요하는 도시정비형 재개발사업을 대상으로 사업기간에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 서울 전권역의 2005년 이후 사업구역으로 지정되어 관리처분계획인가까지 완료한 사업구역 중 데이터 구성이 가능한 75개 사업구역을 대상으로 설정하였다. 구역지정부터 관리처분계획인가까지 소요된 기간을 종속변수로 하여, 재개발사업구역의 특성과 경제적 특성, 입지적 특성을 독립변수로 설정하여 헤도닉가격모형으로 분석하였다. 분석결과, 사업구역 규모가 작을수록, 조합원 1인당 차지하는 구역면적이 클수록, 지가변동률이 클수록, KOSPI 지수가 작을수록 소요기간이 단축되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 사업구역의 규모를 고려한 특성 변수와 사업 진행 시기의 경제적 특성, 입지적 특성을 모형으로 하여 사업의 소요기간에 미치는 영향을 실증분석하였다는 점에서 기존 연구와 차별점을 가진다. 연구결과를 통해 본 연구는 도시정비형 재개발사업의 사업구역 설정 시 사업구역 면적과 조합원수, 경제적 상황 등이 고려되어야 한다는 시사점을 제공하며 이를 통해 재개발사업을 추진하는 시행자와 시공자, 금융기관 등의 사업참여자와 이를 관리하는 지자체 관계자들의 합리적인 의사결정에 도움이 되고자 한다.

패션 의경선도자에 관한 연구 - 주부들의 사회참여도와 대중매체 노출도를 중심으로 - (The study on fashion opinion leader -Concerning the degree of mass media exposure and social paticipation-)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of Women's clothing fashion opinion leaders. The fundamental conceptualization for this study was based on the theories of fashion and opinion leader. Data for the study was obtained through questionnaires from 385 houswives of Gang Nam Gu. The measure of fashion opinion leadership applied in this project was the modification of Rogers' six question self-designating method. Operationally, the characteristic under investigation categoried into three sets of variable ; demographic and socialogical variables, and mass media exposure. As to the data analyses for this study, two-way crosstabs analyses were applied in comparing the characteristics of fashion opinion leader with followers. X\sup 2\ test was used to examine the correlation of several variables. RESULTS : 1. Fashion opinion leaders are not differ from followers in demographic characteristics. 2. Compared with followers, fashion opinion leaders are more active in the participation in concerts, movies and plays. 3. In mass media exposure, fashion opinion leaders differ little from followers regarding T.V, radio, newspaper, literarly magazine, general magazine, culture magazine.
