정보시스템 프로잭트의 선택원리 (A Model for Project Selection of Information System)

  • This purpose of this study is to suggest a tentative model for project selection of information system. In constructing a mathematical model, quantification of decision criteria is tried to lessen difficulties of measuring benefits of information system project. Suggested model enables us to select projects in the context of portfolio and information system policy.

  • 본 논문에서는 대학재정지원사업의 사업 프로세스 및 관리 특성을 분석하여 대학재정지원사업 통합정보관리시스템 구축을 위한 기능을 정의하였다. 이를 위해 대학재정지원사업의 사업 프로세스를 살펴보았고 이를 통하여 공통으로 필요한 6가지 기능을 도출하였다. 도출된 기능을 적용한 통합시스템 구축을 위해서 먼저 선행되어야 할 사항들은 사업 기획 단계에서 통합을 고려한 사업 관리 체계를 표준화하고 회계 관련 규정의 정리가 필요하다. 본 논문에서 도출된 기능들과 시사점을 바탕으로 향후 대학재정지원사업 통합정보관리시스템 설계하는데 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다.

  • These days, the extension and complication of construction project has attached greater significance to IT system for effective project management. Construction companies inside the country have established IT system, but the fact is that they are not up to the expectations of investment provision, and the absense of objective and strategy about project management information system makes its efficiency doubtful. The research, from the point view of construction company, makes an estimate of indefinite future, and presents the process of making out IT system roadmap as a long-term strategy in building IT system.

Exploring a BIM-based approach of project management

  • Within the building industry, building information modelling has been widely applied among different organizations, disciplines and project phases. In order to achieve coordination and synergy collaborative effort, it demands organized information flow and communication for effective implementation of project management through the construction process. Although many BIM researches provides solutions for project management, few efforts have involved the whole life-cycle process of project. In this article, BIM-based project management relying on a series of applications of BIM technology was introduced by coupling management requirement of a project with BIM. Through adopting BIM to the life-cycle management of the project and incorporating BIM applications to project management practice, we have developed a BIM-based project management approach that specialize in integrated BIM chain and interface-supporting system. At the end, the developing process of BIM-based project management approach is concluded.

PMO 기반 프로젝트 관리 시스템의 설계 및 적용 (Design and Application of PMO-Based Project Management Systems)

  • Recently, Information System (IS) development projects such as the next generation IS project of the financial business domain have shown tendency to become large and complex. Accordingly, a large number of enterprises have introduced a Project Management Office (PMO) to successfully manage multiple complex large-scaled projects. Many researches and empirical studies have proved the positive results of PMO-based projects. For example, most PMO-based projects have been accomplished successfully without exceeding the planned deadline and budget. However, even in the case of PMO-based projects, participants are still supported by legacy Project Management Systems (PMS) developed without considering the PMO. It implies that recent large projects are hardly performed efficiently because of the large gap between the legacy PMS tools developed only for single small projects and the real process of PMO-based project management. Therefore, we attempt to design and develop a PMO-based PMS in which the role and responsibility of PMO are completely implemented. To demonstrate our systems practicality, we applied the devised system to the real project management cases of "K" bank in The Republic of Korea. According to the results of case analysis, all of the four projects supported by our PMO-based PMS have been completed without exceeding planned deadline and budget, and the quality of their final outcome is appraised to be superior.

대형 건설사업에서의 사업관리정보시스템 구축에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Project Management Information System for Mega Project)

  • A mega project such as an international airport construction generally consists of a number of sub-projects. Successful completion of this mega project requires project management information system(PMIS) because control and link of a number of component sub-projects is inevitable. Therefore, the role of PMIS should be more emphasized as the project is processed and managed by fast track concept where the design and construction work is performed concurrently. This study investigates and analyzes the present PMIS developed for the construction project of Inchon International airport. Based on this study, we can suggest the direction of PMIS for a mega project management and how to improve this kind of management information system.

  • Even though the success of the information system (IS) protect becomes a critical issue to an enterprise and there has been a lot of research about finding critical success factors of IS projects, the scope management for the success of IS protect has received little attention in the literature. The purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of the project scope management activities defined by PMI (Project Management Institute) on the performance of the information system project. The focus of this paper is on the project supplier's point of view. This study shows the priority of the scope management activities during the IS Project. The results show the different results depending on the types of the project clients and the project scale. This research reveals that the scope verification is important for the project supplier from the project process view, and that the scope planning/definition is important for the protect client from the project result view. It also shows different results comparing to the conventional recognition about project success. The research results show that the positive relationships between the project scale and the importance of scope management activities, and between the familiarity of suppliers and clients and the importance of the scope management activities. Through this research, we expect that the importance of the scope management in a project will be considered as an important issue, and that this research will lead to various detailed research about this issue.

원자력 통합안전경영시스템을 이용한 요르단연구로사업의 문서관리 (Document Management for Jordan Research and Training Reactor Project by ANSIM)

  • Project management is a tool for smooth operation during a full cycle from the design to normal operation including the schedule, document, and budget management, and document management is an important work for big projects such as the JRTR (Jordan Research and Training Reactor). To manage the various large documents for a research reactor, a project management system was resolved, a project procedure manual was prepared, and a document control system was established. The ANSIM (Advanced Nuclear Safety Information Management) system consists of a document management folder, document container folder, project management folder, organization management folder, and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) document folder. First, the system composition is a computerized version of the Inter-office Correspondence (IOC), the Document Distribution for Agreement (DDA), Design Documents, and Project Manager Memorandum (PM Memo) works prepared for the research reactor design. Second, it reviews, distributes, and approves design documents in the system and approves those documents to register and supply them to the research reactor user. Third, it integrates the information of the document system-using organization and its members, as well as users' rights regarding the ANSIM document system. Throughout these functions, the ANSIM system has been contributing to the vitalization of united research. Not only did the ANSIM system realize a design document input, data load, and search system and manage KAERI's long-period experience and knowledge information properties using a management strategy, but in doing so, it also contributed to research activation and will actively help in the construction of other nuclear facilities and exports abroad.

Development and Application of Integrated Management System in Nuclear Power Plant Construction Project

  • Nuclear power plant construction project can be called essential to establish a systematic project management system compared to other construction projects, taking into account the size and complexity and safety. To develop into a project management system for the Korea situation with the ongoing construction of the nuclear power plant was directed to promote nuclear power project management. In this paper, we introduce a comprehensive project management system for nuclear power projects. Currently considering the nuclear life cycle design, construction, and was developed by considering the flow of information to operate, and test each step linkage. The systems in English were developed to meet owner's requirements for advancing into overseas projects. Another point is that the systems were developed by management module, so that functions of each area can be selectively applied. It is expected that the system will establish itself as one that can be used for the entire lifecycle of nuclear power plants through gradual and systematic establishment of necessary data.

요르단연구로건설사업 문서관리시스템 구축 (Establishment of Document Control System for the Jordan Research and Training Reactor Project)

  • The Project of Jordan Research and Training Reactor (JRTR) officially launched in Aug. 2010. JRTR is the first made-in-Korea nuclear system to be built abroad by year 2015, and Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) is responsible for the design of major systems including the reactor core. While the PDCS (Project Document Control System) being operated by EPC company controls all the documents of the whole Project, KAERI is supposed to have its own system for KAERI documents. Meeting such a need; KAERI has implemented a document control for the JRTR Project into already existing ANSIM (KAERI Advanced Nuclear Safety Information Management) system. The documents of JRTR project to be controlled are defined in the PPM (Project Procedures Manual), QAP (Quality Assurance Procedure) and PEP (Project Execution Program). The ANSIM consists of the document management holder, document container holder and organization management holder. The document management holder, which is the most important part of ANSIM-JRTR, consists of the DDA (Document Distribution for Agreement), IOC (Inter-office Correspondence), PM Memo. (Project Manager Memorandum) and cover sheets of design documents. Other materials such as meeting minutes, sub-department materials and design information materials are stored in an independent COP (Community of Practice). This established computerized document control system, ANSIM, could lessen a burden for project management team and enhance the productivity as well.
