In this paper we analyze the performance of an adaptive sector cell system, which is adopted to maintain the traffic balance between sectors and to utilize the cell resources effectively, using the data collected from real channel environments. In the data measurements, we transmitted the QPSK modulated signal with carrier frequency of 1.95GHz and received the signals using the 8x4 array antenna equipped on the top of buildings in the urban area. We analyzed the angular distribution and the delay spread of a user signal and analyzed angular distribution of mobile users in a cell using the collected data. Also, we propose the vector channel modeling using the estimated pdf(probability distribution function) of the analyzing results. Through the proposed channel modeling the improvement of the call blocking rate was analyzed when using the adaptive sector cell system, and computer simulations show that the call blocking rate of the adaptive sector cell system was much lower than that of the fixed sector cell system. Additionally, it shows that the call blocking rate increases severely in the fixed sector cell system while the difference of the call blocking rate was smaller in the adaptive sector cell system, as the user density of the spatial distribution increases.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate changes in soft tissue in 22 patients treated by vertical ramus osteotomy and sagittal split ramus osteotomy for the correction of mandibular prognathism. 22 individuals, 12 males and 10 females, were selected from the patients with mandibular prognathism at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Colledge of Dentistry, Kyung Hee University. Patient were analyzed with cephalogram taken 1 week before and at least 6 weeks after surgery under the same condition. Measurements were made constructed hard tissue and sop tissue points located on each before-and-after film tracing. Comparision were made of these figures to estimate the amount that the soft tissue followed the hard tissue structures in each surgical procedure : ratio of sop and hard tissue changes were formulated. The results were as follows. 1. The horizontal changes of Pogs and Bs as a ratio of the horizontal changes of Pog and B point were 1.02 and 1.16 respectively. 2. One millimeter of posterior changes at Pog resulted in 0.86mm of posterior change at Li and 0.09mm of posterior change at Ls. The greatest amount of sop tissue change occurred at Pogs, with substantially less posterior displacement at Bs, even less at Li and at least at Ls. 3. The ratio of LI to Li was 1:0.81 and the ratio of LI to Ls was not significant.(1 : 0.17) 4. The ULA(Cm-Sn-Ls) and the relative lower lip projection (LLP) was incnease4 but the relative upper lip projection (ULP) was slightly decreased 5. The angular change of the upper lip inclined angle (Ls-Sn/ANS-PNS) and lower lip inclined angle(Li-Pogs/Me-Go) expressed as a ratio of the posterior change of Pog were 0.57 and 0.20 respectively. 6. The ratio of the lower anterior facial height change of the soft tissue(Sn-Mes) to the hard tissue(ANS-Gn) were 0.78 and and the ratio of vertical height changes of the hard tissue and sop tissue to the posterior change of the Pog were 0.18 and 0.19 respectively. 7. The sop tissue angular change of facial convexity(G-Sn-Pogs) expressed as a ratio of the angular change of the hard tissue angle of facial convexity(N-A-Pog) was 1.24.
The SASW (Spectral-Analysis-of-Surface-Waves) method, which evaluates the stiffness structure of the subsurface and structures nonintrusively and nondestructively, has been successfully used in the civil engineering applications. However, the SASW method assumes that the subsurface or structures consist of horizontal multi-layers, so that the method has some difficulty in continuously evaluating the integrity of a tunnel lining and a pavement system. This difficulty prevents the SASW method from being used to generate a tomographic image of stiffness for the subsurface or structures. Recently, the GPR technique which has the advantage of continuously evaluating integrity of the subsurface and structures has been popular. This advantage of GPR technique initiated the efforts to make the SASW method, which is superior to GPR and other nondestructive testing methods due to its capability of evaluating stiffness and modulus, be able to do continuous evaluation of stiffness structure, and the efforts finally lead to the development of \ulcornerTomographic SASW Technique.\ulcorner Tomographic SASW technique is a variation of the SASW method, and can generate a tomographic image of stiffness structure along the measurement line. The tomographic SASW technique was applied to the investigation of lateral variability of a sand box placed by the raining method for the purpose of verifying its effectiveness. Tomographic SASW measurements on the sand box revealed that the investigated sand box has different shear stiffness along the measurement line, which gave a clue of how to make a better raining device.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the canal configuration after shaping by ProFile. ProTaper and K-Flexofile in simulated resin canals with different angles of curvature. Three types of instruments were used: ProFile. ProTaper. K-Flexofile. Simulated root canals. which were made of epoxy resin. were prepared by ProFile. ProTaper with rotary instrument using a crown-down pressureless technique. and hand instrumentation was performed by K-Flexofile using a step-back technique. All simulated. canals were prepared up to size 25 file at end-point of preparation. Pre and post instrumentation images were recorded with Scanner. Assessment of canal shape was completed with Image Analysis program. Measurements were made at 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9 and 10mm from the apex. At each level. outer canal width. inner canal width. total canal width. and amount of transportation from original axis were recorded. Instrument deformation and fracture were recorded. Data were analyzed by means of one-way ANOVA analysis of variance and the Sheffe's test. The result was that ProFile and ProTaper maintain original canal shape regardless of the increase of angle of curvature than K-Flexofile. ProFile show significantly less canal transportation and maintained original canal shape better than ProTaper.

Treatment of a large diseased area with electron often requires the use of two or more adjoining fields. In such cases, not only electron beam divergence and lateral scattering but also fields overlapping and separation may lead to significant dose inhomogeneities(${\pm}20\%$) at the field junction area. In this study, we made Acrylic Electron Wedges to improve dose homogeneities(${\pm}5\%$) in these junction areas and considered application it to clinical practices. All measurements were made using 6, 9, 12, 16, 20MeV Electron beams from a linear accelerator for a $10{\times}10cm$ field at 100cm SSD. Adding a 1 mm sheet of acryl gradually from 1 mm to 15 mm, We acquired central axis depth dose beam profile and isodose curves in water phantom. As a result, for all energies, the practical range was reduced by approximately the same distance as the thickness of the acryl insert, e.g. a 1 mm thick acryl insert reduce the practical range by approximately 1 mm. For every mm thickness of acryl inserted, the beam energy was reduced by approximately 0.2MeV. These effects were almost independent of beam energy and field size. The use of Acrylic Electron Wedges produced a small increase $(less\;than\;3\%)\;in\;the\;surface\;dose\;and\;a\;small\;Increase(less\;than\;1\%)$ in X-ray contamination. For acryl inserts, thickness of 3 mm or greater, the penumbra width increased nearly linear for all energies and isodose curves near the beam edge were nearly parallel with the incident beam direction, and penumbra width was $35\;mm{\sim}40\;mm$. We decide heel thickness and angle of the wedge at this point. These data provide the information necessary to design Acrylic Electron Wedge which can be use to improve dose uniformity at electron field junctions and it will be effectively applicated in clinical practices.

Titanium oxide (TiO2) thin films have valuable properties such as a high refractive index, excellent transmittance in the visible and near-IR frequency, and high chemical stability. Therefore it is extensively used in anti-reflection coating, sensor, and photocatalysis as electrical and optical applications. Specially, TiO2 have a high dielectric constant of 180 along the c axis and 90 along the a axis, so it is highlighted in fabricating dielectric capacitors in micro electronic devices. A variety of methods have been used to produce patterned self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), including microcontact printing ($\mu$CP), UV-photolithotgraphy, e-beam lithography, scanned-probe based micro-machining, and atom-lithography. Above all, thin film fabrication on $\mu$CP modified surface is a potentially low-cost, high-throughput method, because it does not require expensive photolithographic equipment, and it produce micrometer scale patterns in thin film materials. The patterned SAMs were used as thin resists, to transfer patterns onto thin films either by chemical etching or by selective deposition. In this study, we deposited TiO2 thin films on Si (1000 substrateds using titanium (IV) isopropoxide ([Ti(O(C3H7)4)] ; TIP as a single molecular precursor at deposition temperature in the range of 300-$700^{\circ}C$ without any carrier and bubbler gas. Crack-free, highly oriented TiO2 polycrystalline thin films with anatase phase and stoichimetric ratio of Ti and O were successfully deposited on Si(100) at temperature as low as 50$0^{\circ}C$. XRD and TED data showed that below 50$0^{\circ}C$, the TiO2 thin films were dominantly grown on Si(100) surfaces in the [211] direction, whereas with increasing the deposition temperature to $700^{\circ}C$, the main films growth direction was changed to be [200]. Two distinct growth behaviors were observed from the Arhenius plots. In addition to deposition of THe TiO2 thin films on Si(100) substrates, patterning of TiO2 thin films was also performed at grown temperature in the range of 300-50$0^{\circ}C$ by MOCVD onto the Si(100) substrates of which surface was modified by organic thin film template. The organic thin film of SAm is obtained by the $\mu$CP method. Alpha-step profile and optical microscope images showed that the boundaries between SAMs areas and selectively deposited TiO2 thin film areas are very definite and sharp. Capacitance - Voltage measurements made on TiO2 films gave a dielectric constant of 29, suggesting a possibility of electronic material applications.
The SharkHartmann wavefront sensors are the most popular devices to measure wavefront in the field of adaptive optics. The Shack-Hartmann sensors measure the centroids of spot irradiance distribution formed by each corresponding micro-lens. The centroids are linearly proportional to the local mean slopes of the wavefront defined within the corresponding sub-aperture. The wavefront is then reconstructed from the evaluated local mean slopes. The uncertainty of the Shack-Hartmann sensor is caused by various factors including the detector noise, the limited size of the detector, the magnitude and profile of spot irradiance distribution, etc. This paper investigates the noise propagation in two major centroid evaluation algorithms through computer simulation; 1st order moments of the irradiance algorithms i.e. center of gravity algorithm, and correlation algorithm. First, the center of gravity algorithm is shown to have relatively large dependence on the magnitudes of noises and the shape & size of irradiance sidelobes, whose effects are also shown to be minimized by optimal thresholding. Second, the correlation algorithm is shown to be robust over those effects, while its measurement accuracy is vulnerable to the size variation of the reference spot. The investigation is finally confirmed by experimental measurements of defocus wavefront aberrations using a Shack-Hartmann sensor using those two algorithms.

Degree days have been determined using temperature data measured at nearby weather stations to a site of interest to produce information for supporting decision-making on agricultural production. Alternatively, the data products of Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) can be used for estimation of degree days in a given region, e.g., Korean Peninsula. The objective of this study was to develop a simple tool for processing the MODIS product for estimating cooling degree days (CDD), which would help assessment of heat stress conditions for a crop as well as energy requirement for greenhouses. A set of scripts written in R was implemented to obtain temperature profile data for the region of interest. These scripts had functionalities for processing spatial data, which include reprojection, mosaicking, and cropping. A module to extract air temperature at the surface pressure level was also developed using R extension packages such as rgdal and RcppArmadillo. Random forest (RF) models, which estimate mean temperature and CDD with a different set of MODIS data, were trained at 34 sites in South Korea during 2009 - 2018. Then, the values of CDD were calculated over Korean peninsula during the same period using those RF models. It was found that the CDD estimates using the MODIS data explained >74% of the variation in the CDD measurements at the weather stations in North Korea as well as South Korea. These results indicate that temperature data derived from the MODIS atmospheric products would be useful for reliable estimation of CDD. Our results also suggest that the MODIS data can be used for preparation of weather input data for other temperature-based agro-ecological models such as growing degree days or chill units.
Objectives: This study reported about a patient with a right middle cerebral artery infarction whose gait disturbance was improved by Korean medicine treatment. Methods: The patient was treated with a Korean herbal medicine (Gami-yukmijihwang-tang) along with acupuncture, electroacupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, and physical therapy. The treatment effect was evaluated with the manual muscle test (MMT) and the Korean version of the modified Barthel index (K-MBI). The gait of the patient was evaluated by a 10-m walk test (10MWT), the timed up and go (TUG) test, the functional ambulation profile (FAP) score, and the functional ambulatory category (FAC) score. Spatiotemporal parameters were evaluated using a walkway system (GAITRite®, CIR Systems, Inc., USA). Results: After 83 days of traditional Korean medicine treatment, the K-MBI and FAC scores improved from 50 to 70 and from 1 to 4, respectively. The 10MWT and TUG tests also improved from 24.86 to 16.66 sec and from 22.35 to 17.62 sec, respectively. GAITRite® measurements reflected gait improvements: the FAP score improved from 55 to 86 sec; the step time improved from 0.72 to 0.669 sec; the step length improved from 31.076 cm to 41.284 cm; the gait velocity improved from 42.8 cm/sec to 64.1 cm/sec; the cadence improved from 93.6 steps/min to 90.8 steps/min. No adverse effects resulting from treatment or evaluation occurred during the admission period. Conclusions: This study suggests that traditional Korean medicine treatment may reduce symptoms and improve the quality of life in patients with cerebral infarction.
