연구업적 평가에 관한 대학 교수 인식 연구 (A Study on Faculty Perception of Research Performance Evaluation)

  • 본 연구에서는 전국의 국공립 및 사립, 전문대학의 교수들 2,618명을 대상으로 교수연구업적평가와 관련하여 교수들의 인식을 파악하고자 설문조사를 수행하였다. 설문조사는 두 가지 부분에 대한 인식을 파악하기 위한 조사로 하나는 현재 각 대학에서 진행되고 있는 교수연구업적평가에 대한 인식조사이며, 다른 하나는 정량 위주의 업적평가 방식의 대안으로 여겨지는 정성적 평가 지표의 도입에 대한 인식조사이다. 설문 결과, 교수 연구업적평가에서 정량 중심 평가는 여전히 대다수의 대학에서 크게 활용되며, 계열 또는 분야에 적합하지 않은 연구업적평가가 이루어지고 있으며, 평가 기간의 확대가 필요를 요구하고, 정량 위주의 업적평가 방식은 학술 커뮤니티에 부정적인 영향을 가져오며, 연구업적평가에 대한 개선의 필요하다는 인식을 가지고 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 정성적 평가 지표의 도입과 관련하여 교수들은 연구업적평가에 정성적 평가가 필요하다는 인식을 하고 있으며, 정성적 평가 도입과 관련하여 부정적인 의견 또한 존재하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Korean Students' Perceptions of Free-talking and International Professors' Role Recognition

  • Free-talking in Korea has recently been emphasized as a way of improving students' speaking ability outside of the classroom. The purpose of this study is to examine perceptions of free-talking, to understand what type of roles were played by or allotted between Korean students and international professors (IPs) and to look for effective speaking strategies for utilizing free-talking. Participants of this study were 68 university students and 23 IPs. The data collected through a survey type of questionnaire were analyzed by this researcher and the main findings indicate that students and IPs have somewhat different viewpoints about their concepts of free-talking. Students expressed varying viewpoints depending on their experience and class (year). In terms of the benefits, usefulness, and satisfaction of free-talking, students and IPs seem to be in more agreement with each other although the two groups have conflicting perceptions in the particular operation of free-talking, especially in terms of preparation and feedback. Students stated that they feel anxious, nervous, and that they struggle with peer pressure while free-talking. However, they feel that through free-talking they build up confidence and increase their speaking ability. Regarding roles, most professors play a helpful role as a guide or facilitator while students want professors to provide more suitable materials and to tutor them by means of appropriate feedback and strategies as well-prepared teachers like a prompter, participant or tutor in the timely manner. Finally, this paper proffers a few practical suggestions for activating free-talking and a discussion of the pedagogical implications.

Psychological Distance between Students and Professors in Asynchronous Online Learning, and Its Relationship to Student Achievement & Preference for Online Courses

  • Relationships between students' perception of psychological distance with online professors and their academic learning achievement and their intention to continue online learning were examined. The courses selected for this study are two online courses: 1) 'English Grammar' and 2) 'TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) Preparation' offered by a campus-based, medium-sized university. This study employed a mixed-methods approach by conducting a survey as well as one-on-one interviews with students. Students who feel psychologically distant with the online professors show significantly lower degree of perceived learning achievement, and higher tendency not to take online courses any more. All the three scales measuring the psychological distance -mutual awareness, connectedness, and availability- with professors turned out to be significantly related with students' perceived learning achievement. According to the result of the interview data analysis, the student interviewees unanimously said that the university should limit the number of online courses that students can register in a semester to one or two courses. Most students regard low interactivity of online learning as inevitable phenomenon. There is a statistically significant difference in perceived learning achievement between the online preferred group and the offline preferred group. Also, there is a significant difference in connectedness and availability and no significant difference in the degree of mutual awareness between the online and the offline preferred group.

  • 인구 감소에 따른 입학자원의 감소로 인해 대부분의 대학이 어려움을 겪고 있는 교육 환경 속에서 대학이 생존과 양질의 교육을 위해 모색하고 있는 것 중의 하나는 융합교육이다. 본 연구에서는 수요자 모두가 만족할 수 있는 융합교육을 실시하기 위하여 교수자와 학습자의 융합교육에 대한 인식과 희망 융합 학문 분야 등을 조사 분석하여 전문대학의 융합교육에 필요한 학문 분야별 요소들을 도출하고자 하였다. 특히, IT 분야에 대한 교수자와 학습자들의 융합 희망 분야에 대한 인식 비교를 통해 향후, IT 분야 융합교육의 운영에 대한 방안을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다.

  • 한국기혼 여교수의 가족 및 직업역할 수행과 그 효과 및 인식 본 연구는 한국의 중상 층 기혼 여교수들의 그들의 가정과 직장생활의 균형을 위한 복수역할 수행에 따른 역할 긴장도 와 역할 만족도를 조사하는 것과 한국 기혼 여교수들이 그들의 취업이 자신과 가족에게 어떤 영향을 미친다고 인식하고 있는지를 조사하는데 그 목적이 있으며, 기혼여교수들과 4년제 대학에 근무하는 남자교수들의 부인 및 한국과학 기술연구소의 연구원들의 부인인 전업주부들과 비교하여 조사하였다. 본 연구의 결과에 따르면 여교수들은 전업주부들과 비교하여 더욱 높은 역할 만족도와 긴장도를 경험하는 것으로 나타났다. 대부분의 여교수들은 자신의 취업이 자녀들과 가족들에게 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다.

교육대학교 과학교육과 심화 과정 운영에 대한 대학 교수, 예비 교사, 현장 교사의 인식 조사 (A Survey of University Professors' as well as Pre-service and In-service Teachers' Perceptions of the Specialized Science Education Courses in the National Universities of Education in Korea)

  • This study investigated the university proffssors', pre-service teachers' and in-service teachers' perceptions of the specialized science education courses in the 11 national universities of education in Korea, analyzed their perception differences, and made suggestions the future directions for the specialized courses. For this study, 46 university professors, 402 in-service teachers, and 336 pre-service teachers were participated nationwide. The results show that there were significant differences in their perceptions between the three groups. For university professors, for example, the acquisition of science content knowledge appeared to be the most important objective of the courses, whereas the other groups preferred the acquisition of more practical knowledge and skills that they could easily use and apply in their classroom teaching later. The university professors tended to think that the science specialized courses would be very useful to the teachers' teaching and contribute to developing their professionality. On the contrary, the in-service and pre-service teachers tended to think that the courses would be not so useful because science theories construct the courses rather than practical knowledge. The implications of these findings are discussed in relation to the future science teacher education.

간호사의 내부고발 인식유형에 관한 연구 (The Types of Nurses Perception of Whistle-Blowing;Q-Methodology)

  • Purpose: This study was to define structural subjectivity pattern of whistle-blowing of hospital nurses. Method: This study was conducted using Q-methodology in order to classify the types of perception to an whistle-blowing from the inside of the incumbent hospital nurses. Nineteen members, including hospital nurses, professors and students majoring in the nursing department made 47 statements about the insider's accusation after an in-depth interview about the statements. Forty incumbent hospital nurses were the participants for the Q-Methodology. The statement data was analyzed with QUANL PC Program and five different types were classified according to how the nurse had replied to the statements. Result: The first one is a Propeller type. The second one is a Denial type. The third type is a Patient Advocate type. The fourth one is a Anonymous type. The fifth is a Netizen type. Conclusion: this study as a momentum, a reasonable and constitutional legislation in the nurses organization should be established as soon as possible.

임상실습 교육을 위한 간호학 교수의 실무참여에 관한 연구 (A Study of Faculty Practice for Clinical Teaching)

  • Nurse educators are being encouraged to intergrated the role of faculty practice into the role expectations of the education institutes. Schools of nursing are faced with challenge of the faculty who wishes to adopt facilitating practical role. Also directors of nursing department in hospitals point out the lack of competences for nursing care of new graduated nurse. This survey study was conducted to clarify the factors that faculty who engages on practice in the clinical teaching are to facilitate or inhibit. In this study, 55 head nurses of university hospital and 30 professors of nursing school were assigned to complete the questionnaire. Results of this study are as follows : 1) Head nurse : The most actively participated nursing activities in student's clinical teaching are medication, injection, vital sign checking and bed making. The problems of clinical leaching are lack of direct care of Professors, overloaded work of head nurses, passive learning attitudes of nursing students and less priority about clinical teaching of academic administrator's perception. 2) Nursing professor Facilitators of faculty practices are negative perception about clinical practice of both nursing professor and academic administrator. Inhibitors of faculty practice are negligence of the clinical teaching, lack of the practicing capability and lack of administration system on practical education by head of the school. There, following strategies are suggested for facilitating faculty practice : 1. Faculty practice focused on clinical teaching must be emphasized for academic administration. 2. Nurse educators must keep continuing clinical practice in their specific area. 3. Collaboration between school of nursing and hospital promotes effectiveness of the clinical practice for nursing students.

  • This thesis intends to make a study on the effectiveness of Nursing Professors through perceptual psychological approach. Purpose of the Study Researches have been made relating teacher′s effectiveness measurement. However, they share a common defect that they have been done on the basis of superficial aspects of the problems aspects that can bi measured by general objective survey only, but this study is designed "to understand his behavior in terms of a human behaving and of a self as an instrument"-principle, based upon the Perceptual Psychology which puts more stress on the inner perception than on the external one. Method of the Study This thesis is based chiefly on the two sources : "Perceptual Orientation Scale"(Chunghoon Choy, 1971) which has been standardized on the basis of perceptual psychology and the question acres made by the researcher of this thesis and given to the 34 Nursing Professors in seoul and other country. Result of the Study The method of data operation by Pearson "r" asserts that there were distinct deep relation Between Perceptual orientation and fellow′s estimate, while a little relation among the estimate of a-administration, educational backgrounds and occupations but no relations the status of experiences. It can be concluded that the estimates between fellows working at "the same fields" have kept deep relations together on perceptual orientation which resulted from finding out a useful method to measure occupational effectiveness according to the perceptual field. Conclusion of the Study The personnel administration has been managed according to external flatus and not positive operation: on the other hand, this study holds, It shall be operated in accordance with the estimates by fellow, the "Preceptual Orientation Scale" for more positive ability. The study requires the following researches on the devoted professional occupations, such as medical doctors, teachers, nurses, etc. for the purpose of increasing their occupational effectiveness more scientifically.
