An IT-based Coordination Support for Production and Marketing Decisions (정보기술을 활용한 생산과 마케팅 의사결정 조정)

  • This paper is concerned with the critical issue of allocating limited corporate resources among multiple products and between production and marketing functions of a functionally decentralized firm where the two geographically remote functions independently make decisions pertaining to their own decision-making domain. We attempt to demonstrate how IT can contribute to enhancing the quality of coordinating production and marketing functions from the perspective of resource allocation. To this end, we propose a prototype named ITBCS (IT-Based Coordination System) that works under LAN supported computing environments. We develop a comprehensive coordination scheme that can handle various cost functions for the resource constrained, multiple product case that huts been tittle discussed in literature. A preliminary version of ITBCS has been implemented for a hypothetical situation where LAN electronically wires distributed marketing and production computing nodes. Managerial implications are also discussed.

  • This study proposes a Web Decision Support System (DSS) as a new approach to resolving conflicts arising at the interface of production and marketing which have traditionally been in conflict with each other. Many researchers studied on the types and resolution mechanisms of conflicts among various organizations and organizational units. However, as global and distributed operations of firms based on the Internet become a commonplace business landscape, these conflict resolution mechanisms are found very difficult to be directly applied. From this perspective, the Web DSS proposed in this study can be claimed to be appropriate for the Internet-based distributed business operations. The current related literature on the production-marketing interface shows that the possible use of the Web DSS approaches has little been studied in spite of the decent amount of research conducted on the coordination of decision making between the two functions. This paper develops the architecture of the Web DSS and demonstrates its effectiveness based on the implementation results.

  • This study intends to develop a computer software for an efficient swineherd production and management. Current softwares are concerned on the sow management and ignore the actual farm environment. This study focuses on the farm environment in developing the software and covers the production management financial management, marketing management, and business planning for swineherd farm. The FSR(Farming Systems Research) analysis and interview survey aye applied to collect the data for the system planning, farmer's demand and analysis on the system, system design and program development. The systems are designed to meet the needs for the progressive swineherd farmers. Visual FoxPro 5.1 is used to develop the system. The developed system includes pig farm financial records keeping and management, pig farm production management program, pig farm marketing management program, and pig farm business diagnosis and planning program to meet the scope of the study. The weekly maintenance records and financial records are adopted for the input interface since most of farmers use their computer less than 5 hours a week. Pulldown Menu systems are adopted and designed for easy use by structuring to meet the pig farm and system demands. The manu system allocates the input-output screen based on the sectors, scopes, users, frequencies, importances, and the usages of the information. The GUI(Graphic User Interface) method is used to develop input-output screens for easy use. Backward Chaining mechanism fo the Expert System is used in the diagnosis of the pig farm management and the Systems Simulators Approach is used in the pig farm management planning.

  • We design an integrated production management system that incorporates management tasks of procurement of materials, production, and marketing. It includes MRP simulation on small or medium sized companies, design of databases, and definition of relevant objects in production environments. The system has been designed using object-oriented programming concept not only to represent the real-world situation easily, but also to help system integration. Graphics-User Interface(GUI) is also employed for the efficiency of production planning.

  • The area of informatization in small business industry consists of production automation. management automation, and network. This paper mainly deals with the management automation which uses management information systems. Functionally speaking, there are four broad categories such as manufacturing, marketing. human resource, and accounting. However, since most of small business industries emphasize more on the manufacturing and marketing, an integrated information system with these two core processes has been developed based on object-oriented methodology. The system, one of the important steps in the stage model this paper proposes, has not only simple and essential features ensuring easy implementation, but also friendly interface and good modularity based on the object-oriented paradigm.

  • In the rapidly propagating Internet based electronic transaction environment. the importance of real time order confirmation has been more emphasized, In this paper, using data mining techniques, we develop intelligent operations decision model to allow real time order confirmation at the time the customer places an order with required delivery terms. Among various operation plannings used for order fulfillment. mill routing is the first interface decision point to link the order receiving at the marketing with the production planning for order fulfillment. Though linear programming based mathematical optimization techniques are mostly used for mill routing problems, some early orders should wait until sufficient orders are gathered for optimization. And that could effect longer order fulfillment lead-time, and prevent instant order confirmation of delivery terms. To cope with this problem, we provide the intelligent decision model to allow instant order based mill routing decisions. Data mining techniques of decision trees and neural networks. which are more popular in marketing and financial applications, are used to develop the model. Through diverse computational trials with the industrial data from the steel company. we have reported that the performance of the proposed approach is effective compared to the present heuristic only mill routing results. Various issues of data mining techniques application to the mill routing problems having linear programming characteristics are also discussed.

  • 인터넷을 기반으로 한 정보통신의 급속한 발전이라는 기업환경의 변화에 적응하기 위해서 기업은 점차 모든 경영시스템을 인터넷을 기반으로 하도록 변화시키고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 기업 조직 또한 전세계를 기반으로한 글로벌 기업 형태로 변화하고 있다. 이러한 급속한 경영환경의 변화로 인해서 기업 내에서는 종전과는 다른 형태의 부서간 상호의사결정조정 과정이 필요하게 되었다. 일반 기업들을 대상으로 한 상호의사결정의 지원과정에 대해서는 기존에 많은 연구들이 있었으나 글로벌기업과 같은 네트워크 형태의 새로운 형태의 기업에 있어서의 상호의사결정과정을 지원할 수 있는 의사결정지원시스템에 대해서는 단순한 그룹의사결정지원시스템 또는 분산의사결정지원시스템과 같은 연구들이 주를 이루고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 인터넷 특히, 웹을 기반으로 한 기업의 글로벌경영 및 분산 경영에서 비롯되는 부서간 상호의사결정이라는 문제를 효율적으로 지원할 수 있는 기업의 글로벌경영 및 분산 경영에서 비롯되는 부서간 상호의사결정이라는 문제를 효율적으로 지원할 수 있는 메커니즘을 제시하고 이에 기반한 프로토타입 형태의 시스템을 구현하여 성능을 검증하고자 한다. 특히, 기업 내에서 가장 대표적으로 상호의사결정지원이 필요한 생산과 마케팅 부서를 대상으로 상호의사결정지원 메커니즘을 개발하고 실험을 진행하였다. 그 결과 글로벌 기업내의 생산과 마케팅 부서간 상호의사결정을 효율적으로 지원 할 수 있는 상호조정 메카니즘인 개선된 PROMISE(PROduction and Marketing Interface Support Environment)를 기반으로 한 웹 분산의사결정지원시스템 (Web-DSS : Web-Decision Support Systems)을 제안하는 바이다.자대상 벤처기업의 선정을 위한 전문가시스템을 구축중이다.의 밀도를 비재무적 지표변수로 산정하여 로지스틱회귀 분석과 인공신경망 기법으로 검증하였다. 로지스틱회귀분석 결과에서는 재무적 지표변수 모형의 전체적 예측적중률이 87.50%인 반면에 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 90.18%로서 비재무적 지표변수 사용에 대한 개선의 효과가 나타났다. 표본기업들을 훈련과 시험용으로 구분하여 분석한 결과는 전체적으로 재무/비재무적 지표를 고려한 인공신경망기법의 예측적중률이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 로지스틱회귀 분석의 재무적 지표모형은 훈련, 시험용이 84.45%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형은 84.45%, 85.08%로서 거의 동일한 예측적중률을 가졌으나 인공신경망기법 분석에서는 재무적 지표모형이 92.23%, 85.10%인 반면, 재무/비재무적 지표모형에서는 91.12%, 88.06%로서 향상된 예측적중률을 나타내었다.ting LMS according to increasing the step-size parameter $\mu$ in the experimentally computed. learning curve.   • Brands are important in the consumer market. They are the interface between consumers and the company. And consumers may develop loyalty to brands. Also, the late development of industrial marketing explains the near absence of research on brand equity in business to business. With recent change, Industrial companies have shifted from a production focus to a customer focus. Industrial brand is fast developing. The basic purpose of this study is to investigate industrial brand trust and loyalty affecting the result of business relationship between industrial buyers and suppliers. Factors hypothesized to influence trust in a brand include a number of brand characteristics, company characteristics and consumer-brand characteristics. This research presented a comprehensive constructive model consisting of components of industrial brand trust and loyalty, and then propose the research model base on prior researches and studies about relationships among components of industrial brand loyalty Data were gathered from respondents who work in industrial buying center. For this study, Data were analyzed by AMOS 4.0. The results of this research analysis were as fallow. Industrial brand trust and loyalty were positively related with a number of industrial brand characteristics, supplier characteristics and buyer-brand characteristics, relationship commitment. This research newly proposed the concept of industrial brand trust and loyalty affecting the result of business relationship between industrial buyers and suppliers.

  • The computer game industry has managed to become the fastest growing segment of the entertainment industry nowadays. However, only a very low number of computer game products manage to cover the costs of production and generate earnings. According to traditional marketing wisdom, customers' preferences are a core issue in creating successful products, and the design process in game is crucial for guaranteeing garners' satisfaction. This research aimed to explore key design factors for the game design based on the new framework of the usability evaluation. We examined the usability in Massively Multi-player Online Role-playing Games (MMORPGs) and reviewed literatures related to games simultaneously. We identified eighteen usability issues in MMORPG and presented its recommendation relevant to the issues. Moreover, the results of the study showed fifty four key design factors composed of game interface, game play, game narrative, and game mechanics for the game design. The research is concluded with key implications to support the early stage of the design process in game.
