The Impact of Traditional Market Properties and Relationship Quality on Customer Value : Approach from the viewpoint of the Means-end Chain Theory

  • Purpose - This study investigated relationship quality and/or loyalty, from the viewpoint that merchants and consumers could develop the traditional market. It reorganized variables to find the conditions of values that could stimulate consumers' motives to revive the traditional market. Research Design, data, and methodology - This study employed 202 copies of effective questionnaires, based on the data of Yang & Ju (2012), to conduct correlation, regression, and structured equation modeling (SEM). Results - The results emphasized product and store atmosphere as store selection attributes to consider in the minimum error correction (MEC) model; service factor was not significant. Further, consumers valued relationship quality in the test of mediated effects of the sub-factors of store selection attributes, including consumers' social and emotional value. The relationship quality significantly influenced consumers' value in traditional markets that needed to improve and develop using several variables. Conclusions - This study revealed connections between attributes, consequences, and values using the causal relation model, to generate an optimal model based on a practical and theoretical background and proposed ways to obtain consumer-related information easily.

중국 인삼 산업의 국제 경쟁력 분석 (Analysis of International Competitiveness of Chinese ginseng in Comparison with Korean ginseng)

  • In this thesis we aim at analyzing international competitive power of Chinese ginseng in comparison with Korean ginseng and searching policy direction for Korea to compete Chinese ginseng industry. We summarized the research results as follows; First, we examine the structural change of ginseng industry of China. Second, we review the theories for international competitiveness and apply the method of analyzing competitiveness to ginseng industry. Third, we compared the international competitive power of the ginseng industry between China and Korea and found that Chinese ginseng, estimated by Revealed Comparative Advantage(RCA) at about 15, still remains high competitiveness in terms of cost and price but lowering price competitiveness recently. Based on the research results, we suggest export promotion strategies of the Korean ginseng as follows; 1) Korean government should enforce trade cooperation with China so as to register Korean root ginseng an importable medicine. 2) Korean ginseng producer should develop various products such as capsules, powders and etc. according to China's consumer purchasing power and taste. 3) Korean ginseng should be sold as an differentiated commodity so that it will contribute to building consumer loyalty to Korean ginseng, makes market share superior to other cheaper ginseng products in China. 4) In order to be effective brand marketing and product advertisement, there should be established reliable networks to process and distribute Korean ginseng products exclusively.

공공도서관 이용자의 부정적 구전에 관한 연구 - 대구지역 공공도서관 이용자를 중심으로 - (Negative Word-of-Mouth Behavior and Intentions of the Public Library Users in Taegu Metropolitan City)

  • 이 연구는 대구지역 공공도서관이용자 487명을 대상으로 설문지법을 이용하여 부정적 구전행동과 부정적 구전의도를 구분하여 각각에 영향을 미치는 선행요인을 실증적으로 분석하고자 시도하였다. 분석결과 불만족의 강도와 서비스의 중요성이 부정적 구전행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었으며, 불만족의 강도와 불평태도, 서비스의 중요성, 불평비용, 충성도, 외적귀인이 부정적 구전의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다. 또한 추가분석결과 불평행동경험은 부정적 구전의도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • 이 연구는 비영리조직이용자 불평행동의 한 예로서 공공도서관 이용자의 불평행동에 대한 포괄적인 연구로 시도된 것이다. 이 연구에서는 불평에 대한 태도와 불평비용, 불평의 성공가능성, 서비스의 중요성, 외적귀인, 충성도 등의 불평행동의 선행요인이 이용중단, 항의, 부정적 구전, 제3자를 통한 불평 등의 각 불평행동 유형에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 특히 비영리조직의 특성과 관련하여 선행요인으로 "무료이용지각"이라는 새로운 변수를 검토하였다. 서비스에 불만족한 대구지역 공공도서관의 성인이용자 515명을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 바탕으로 결과를 분석하였다.

  • Product complaints allow business operators to learn from and solve problems they have been unaware of and prevent customers from leaving in advance. The ability to deal properly with complaints may improve consumer loyalty and repurchase intentions. This study analyzes consumers' intention in complaining behavior towards supermarkets and traditional markets. This study provides implications for business operators in the establishment of marketing strategies to deal with complaints and perform education related to consumer complaints by the verification of variables that influence intention on complaining behavior. A survey was conducted on housewife consumers who had experience using supermarkets and traditional markets. The major results are as follows: first, in store awareness higher in supermarkets than in traditional markets. Second, determinants of consumer complaint behavior, indicated a belief there was a need to spend more money at traditional markets than supermarkets, where the possibility of complaint success and complaint attitudes were found to be low. Third, intention of complaining behavior was lower at traditional markets than supermarkets. Intentions on private complaining behavior and public complaining behavior were both low. Fourth, intention of private behavior is higher than intention of public behavior for both supermarkets and traditional markets. Fifth, complaint attitudes were variables with the greatest influence on intention of complaining behavior for both supermarkets and traditional markets.

Psychological contract-based Consumer Repurchase behavior On Social commerce platform: An Empirical study

  • Social commerce, integration of social media and e-commerce, provides potential opportunities for consumers to talk about their ideas and exchange product-related information on online shopping platforms. Given the substantial prospects related to business opportunities and consumers' perceptions, this study explores the factors driving fulfillment of the psychological contract in social commerce platforms. This research proposes, examines, and proves a theoretical model for the post-purchase behavior of the consumers, through an empirical investigation of online questionnaire-based data, gathered from 367 consumers in a cross-sectional setting. Results show that the fulfillment of psychological contract, consumer loyalty, and affective commitment fully mediate the impact of consumer trust on platform and repurchase intention. The level of commitment toward the consumer by the platform is strongly related to the degree of consumer trust, which is reciprocated through re-purchase intentions. This study offers essential theoretical implications with regards to the social exchange theory, attribution theory, and an moderating effect of the platform empathy on consumers' trust-psychological contract fulfillment relationship. Likewise, this research has significant implications for practitioners and managers.

How Internet has Reshaped the User Experience of Banking Service?

  • The changes new technologies have brought to banking over the past decade are enormous in their impact on the ways of doing business and providing customer services, most notably in the areas of customer service channels. Banks have been trying to move away from the traditional, branch-based and costly staff-assisted channels toward self-assisted channels, i.e. internet banking and mobile banking, to drive down costs and improve customer loyalty. How internet and mobile have reshaped the user experience of banking service channel? To provide valuable insights for this question, this research investigates and compares customer's channel choice behavior and profit changes from bank's branch closure. Applying the propensity scoring matching method, the results of analysis demonstrates that the mobile channel can be a realistic alternative to conventional branches. Also, the reserch result shows banks can reduce conventional branches while experiencing a positive implications on their profits from the customers. Another significant implication from the research is, to accelerate the shift to digital channels, banks need to put more efforts on developing functions in the mobile channel that will allow friendly interaction with customers and consultation, such as video consultation, interactive chat, and location-based product recommendation.

부산지역 어묵 브랜드제품 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on Brand Planning and Product Development of Busan Fish-Paste Products)

  • The objective of this study is collecting the basic information about the consumption of fish paste for developing Busan Fish-Paste products. Also, we tried to validate the effects of Busan Fish-Paste's Brand factors for its consumers. A survey was conducted to analyze the consumers who purchased fish paste products. The result showed that 60 percent of the respondents preferred Busan Fish-Paste. And 41 percent of the respondents considered the taste of fish paste products when purchasing them. As for brand, the perceived quality of Busan Fish-Paste had extremely positive influence on consumers' satisfaction. And consumers' satisfaction had significantly positive influence on brand preference and brand loyalty.

소셜큐레이션과 광고 - 버티컬 SNS에서 표현된 패션브랜드 이미지의 메시지 전략 - (Social curation as an advertising tool - Message strategy of fashion brand images on vertical SNS -)

  • This paper examines advertising images of fashion brands in vertical social network site (SNS) from the viewpoints of message strategies. Vertical social network sites are types of social curation systems applied to social networking, where information is selected, organized, and maintained. Fashion brands communicate with consumers by presenting images on vertical SNSs, anticipating improvements in brand image, popularity, and loyalty. Those images portray content for particular brands and seasonal concepts, thus creating paths for product sales information. Marketing via SNSs corresponds to relationship marketing, which refers to long-term interrelationship and value augmentation between the company and consumer, and viral advertising, which relies on word of mouth distribution via social network platforms. Taylor's six-segment message strategy wheel, often used for analyzing viral ads, was applied to conduct a content analysis of the images. A total of 2,656 images of fashion brands advertised on Instagram were selected and analyzed. Results indicated that brand values were somewhat related to the number of followers. Follower rankings and comment rankings were also correlated. In general, fashion brands projected sensory messages most often. Acute need and rational messages were less common than other messages. Sports brands and luxury brands presented sensory messages, whereas fast fashion brands projected routine images most often.
